The joyous Mid-Autumn Festival was celebrated on the fifteenth day of the

eighth moon, around the time of the autumn equinox(秋分). Many referred to it

simply as the "Fifteenth of the Eighth Moon".

This day was also considered as a harvest festival since fruits, vegetables

and grain had been harvested by this time and food was abundant. Food offerings

were placed on an altar set up in the courtyard. Apples, pears, peaches, grapes,

pomegranates(石榴), melons, oranges and pomelos(柚子) might be seen. Special foods

for the festival included moon cakes, cooked taro(芋头)and water caltrope(菱角), a

type of water chestnut resembling black buffalo horns. Some people insisted that

cooked taro be included because at the time of creation, taro was the first food

discovered at night in the moonlight. Of all these foods, it could not be

omitted from the Mid-Autumn Festival.

1、回想起来，童年是多么令人难忘！小时候，我的床上堆满了画报玩具，每天玩到很晚才睡觉；爬到高高的铁杆上面看着小伙伴们羡慕的目光，高兴地冲着下面喊“我爬到顶了”；看灯展的时候趴在爸爸背上玩气球，一不小心让气球飞到了天上就哇哇大哭；买了新书包以后不管什么都往里边塞，结果把书包撑坏了；解方程的时候把“x”放错地方，发下作业后的批语是“重改”；遇到难题的时候绞尽脑汁也想不出来，但是让父母一指导，便迎刃而解，豁然开朗了。这些事情在现在看来，好像就发生在昨天。我多么想再回到童年那无忧无虑的美好生活中去！可是，时间不允许，我被时间的河流冲到了少年时代。

2、是呀！时间是宝贵的，又是无情的，它总是不知不觉地在从我们身边匆匆流逝。能抓住时间并刻苦学习的人，才能成为有用的人。而不能抓住时间的人，只能是做天和尚撞一天钟，在不断等待“明日”的蹉跎中，闲白了少年头，空悲切！

3、盛夏之夜，我与妈妈一同坐在沙发上，妈妈随手举起放在桌旁的地球仪，指着英国伦敦说：“这里有个举世闻名的格林威治天文台，世界时间就从这里开始。”“时间？时间在哪儿？我怎么看不见它的影儿？”我发问道。“时间来无踪去无影，看不见摸不着，但我们可以感受到时间的痕迹。”妈妈回答说。

4、多深奥多抽象的“时间”概念啊，以前我对“时间”的了解甚少，只知道它是由秒分时日月年组成的，而今我明白了时间是会留下痕迹的。
