对于我们学生来说，每天最盼望的就是假期了，这不，马上就是五一劳动节了，同学们就开始商量着关于五一的事情了，要放几天假成了同学们最近最热烈的话题了，同学们也七嘴八舌的说开了，有的说像从前一样放五天假;有的又说只放三天假，甚至有的还说放一天假，我们都说放一天假不可能，因为五月一号那天是星期五，然后和星期六和星期天一起放假，最少也有三天假，同学们听得蛮有道理，听说有三天假，她们又商量着和家人或朋友去哪里玩，我和几个朋友也商量开了，说五一放假的时候要一同出去玩，但是最后也没有一个结果，因为中间出现了许许多多的问题，她们说我们几个小孩去玩会不会有危险啊!如果跟父母去那又一点情趣都没有，如果不出门，那又一点情趣没有，会很无聊。

五一多么有意义的一个日子阿!但我们却做不出一件有意义的事，这让我非常惭愧，我们只懂得玩乐。却不知道为这个社会做出什么贡献，所以我和几个朋友商量，如果五一放假时有机会去做义工或者植树只类的活动，我们愿意去参加，来为我们的假期增添更有意义的色彩，让我们为社会做这一点点的贡献。

The English summer camp begins today.We were all excited today.

关于发音和模仿

她在书中着重强调了是语调问题。这个问题是绝大多数中国英语学习者忽略了的问题。因为汉语是声调语言，单个字的声调以固定频率的形式出现，所以句子的语调基本是平的。很多外语学习者可能不知道，英语语调有传递情绪的功能，语调变化甚至能传递说话人的潜台词，比如：反语、讽刺、犹豫、建议等等。错误的语调会让听话人疑惑。考拉小巫的纠正方法是录音，和原文对比。不过几年之后的今天有简单的解决办法，下个配音软件，一切就OK了。

考拉小巫有字幕组的经历，我认为这可能是她英语突飞猛进的一个关键因素。她在做电影字幕，很多时候有听译，听译实际上我们平时的听写是差不多的，而且字幕是要见人的，所以从头到尾容不得一点马虎，可以说，考拉小巫在强迫自己一次一次做高强度听写+理解输出。而且在听译这么多电影的过程中，她一定大量有反复听同一电影的经历。所以，她被她嚼烂了的电影的量，甚至高过一部分人泛读的量。精听精读是提高技能的一个关键步骤，如果她精听的量超过了普通人精读的量，那么我们有理由相信，她至少在接收信息这一方面，有了很大的提高。

关于词汇量的论述

在这本书中，考拉小巫研究来研究去，最后发现影响阅读速度的第一大天敌还是词汇量的问题。她引用了一句话说：“GRE的单词是有用的，在美国读研究生的时候自然就知道了”。

被忽视的机械练习

现在我们提得最多的是刻意练习，学外语都想到的是克拉申、交际法等等。殊不知刻意练习的基础是机械练习，习得一切复杂技能的基础也是机械练习。没有把单个子技能练到炉火纯青，是逃不出舒适区的，更不用说把各个子技能最后串联起来，形成我们所说的技能。考拉小巫说她初中一个吴姓老师奉行fifty

精进之路只有一条，坚持，拓展。不过注意到下面这几点，可能会拓展得快一点。

第一，适当接触一些方言和非标准口音。

第二，逐渐积累俚语。
