起先，我们没有把妈妈的话听入耳，只拔了几棵歪歪曲曲的。回去一看，呀，不行，我们只好“艰苦跋涉”到了拔树的地方。我们仔细的，一棵一棵的找着，突然，我和弟弟同时发现了一棵笔直的香樟树。我发现的长在一棵大点的香樟树旁边，我使劲的拔着，不时还唱着：“拔树苗，拔树苗，嘿呦黑呦拔树苗……”

“唉呀，这棵树苗可真难拔，拔了这么久，连一点泥巴都没有松动。”我站起来，擦一下汗，“算了吧，它有大树妈妈保护它，就暂且放过你。”而弟弟发现的却在一棵小得不能再小的树旁边。可是，他连这棵树也拔不了，真是小当力气小。我走过去，一只手就拔了出来。我又找呀找，一连找到了两棵树苗，把它们拔了出来。

回到家里，妈妈对树苗称赞过后，又说：“种树要先对树叶进行一番修剪：把树叶剪掉三分之一。”

“啊，不会吧!”我大叫起来。但是，这是我们要种的树呀，没办法，我只好从屋里拿出剪刀，慢慢的修剪起来。

好不容易修剪完，却又没想到，挖坑也不是一件容易的事。我从柴房里面取来两把锄头和弟弟一起在田边挖了起来。我一挥锄头，“啪”的一声，啊噢，锄歪了!怎么办?是不锄了还是到别的地方锄?好，就这样：这一片地我不锄了，我到别的地方去锄，这片地就留在这里，等下一年再来种。

我挖呀挖，不一会儿，一个坑就挖成了。我把树苗放到坑里面，再把坑填满，浇点水，树就种好了。
