Low-carbon life is good for everyone. To help with the environment，I always walk or ride a bike to school instead of taking a car. can’t fall asleep if the light is off. This is my living habit. Maybe I will

乡村生活多姿多彩，捉鱼、摘野果、挖地瓜……但令我最记忆犹新的是捉鸡。

那是一个暑假，我回老家看望奶奶。听奶奶说，在后院的果园里养了几只可爱的小鸡。我听了十分激动，便与爸爸妈妈去果园里捉鸡了。

来到果园，我四处张望哪里有小鸡。“咯咯咯”，一只小鸡正在前方不远处找东西吃，我立刻追上去捉小鸡。小鸡见了，撒腿就跑。我紧追不舍，距离渐渐缩短了，我正要扑过去，小鸡加快速度，我便摔了个狗啃泥。

爸爸妈妈见了笑得前俯后仰，老爸对我说：“儿子，你……哈哈。”我擦了擦脸上的泥巴，恼羞成怒了。这时老爸搭了我的肩膀说：“儿子，狭路相逢勇者胜，捉鸡就打埋伏战。”我听了恍然大悟。

果园里的果树枝叶茂密，树上的水果颜色鲜艳，这里为我的埋伏提供了很好环境。我在果树前撒了把米就躲在果树后面守株待鸡。过了会儿，又有一只小鸡仔附近散步，它的羽毛色泽鲜艳，身子肥肥的，比刚才那只小鸡还漂亮。它没发现我，我心中暗暗自喜，心想：今晚可以吃全鸡宴了。小鸡向我走来，但它没发现我。又过了会儿，我认为时候到了，便猛扑过去，终于捉住小鸡了。胜利如阳光照在我脸上，我那红扑扑的脸蒙上层细汗，如沾满露珠的日季花。

我的外婆家在农村，这个星期，我们学了关于农村生活的情景，感到了农村的快乐有趣，于是这个周末我就迫不及待地要求妈妈，带我去乡下体验一下乡下人家的乐趣。

星期五下午，我们带上公交卡、相机就出发去乡下的外婆家。到了那里，我在后门看见了一只全身棕黄色的皮毛，两只小耳朵长长的耷拉着，一张小小的嘴巴和一双黑不溜秋的像黑珍珠似的眼睛的小动物，妈妈告诉我：“它叫藏獒，才两个月大。”我怕它咬我，一看见它跑过来，我就飞也似的逃走了。来到前面的豌豆地里，几只母鸡正在觅食，一看见我就四处乱窜，我只能站在远处静静地看着。

来到外婆家的院子里，几只鸭子“嘎嘎”地叫着，似乎在说：“小坏蛋来啦，快跑。”吓得竹林里的小猫咪也逃走了，顺着“叽叽喳喳”的叫声抬头看看，咦，一只麻雀停在电线上，仿佛是乐谱上的一个音符，真可爱啊！

The Three New Yorks

There are roughly three New Yorks. There is, first, the New York of the man or woman who was born here, who takes the city for granted and accepts its size and its turbulence as natural and inevitable. Second, there is the New York of the commuter — the city that is devoured by locusts each day and spat out each night. Third, there is the New York of the person who was born somewhere else and came to New York in quest of something. Of these three trembling cities the greatest is the last — the city of final destination, the city that is a goal. It is this third city that accounts for New Yorks high-strung disposition, its poetical deportment, its dedication to the arts, and its incomparable achievements. Commuters give the city its tidal restlessness, natives give it solidarity and continuity, but the settlers give it passion.
