How Freshmen Adapt to the New Environment?

When freshmen enter the university at the first time they have to deal with all kinds of affairs independently.Whether a new student can understand and become familiar with the environment of the campus rapidly will determine whether he can live and study freely.

Firstly,the freshmen should be familiar with layout of the campus as soon as possible.As soon as freshmen arrange properly their luggage after entering the university,they should familiarise themselves with every location in the campus at once.In this way,they will save more time and get along smoother than others when they go through various kinds of formalities and solve various kinds of problems.

Secondly,freshmen should consult seniors more. It is the swiftest method to ask those familiar with the environment of the campus.

Finally,holding certain positions in the class can also help freshmen to adapt to their life on campus.

About Environmental protection

The air we breath, the water we drink, the animals with us...We are engaged in building a harmonious relationship between the nature and we human beings.

As a supervisor of HSE management in an oil company, I can see the environmental protection in a different way.

In 1989, an oil tanker hit a rock off the northwest coast of Alaska. 35,000 tons of oil poured into the sea. The accident was one of the worst in history. More than 34,000 birds and 10,000 animals were killed. 4,800 square kilometers of ocean were polluted.

The poured oil long-time coverd the surface of ocean and the bodies of marine creatures.We call oil as "black gold",at that time, it turns out to be "black killer".When I saw the famous French film"The travelling birds", thousands of birds are stuck by black sticky oil and died in a few days,many species are no more exist. Ill never forget that sight-shocking scene.

Therefore, we ought to bound up environmental protection with industrial safty control.

Secondly, when oil tankers use ultrasonic waves to test underwater oil stocks, many whales sensing system is spoiled by the instant powerful ultrasonic bolt. Once they were hit by a ultrasonic bolt,they were almost deaf. They cant effectively respond dangerous surroundings around them and are liable to be reeled in the engine of oil tankers or be killed by whaler and other natural enemies.Thereby,we can see the quantity of whales declines very fast.

Its a shame that a great many oil companies havent even realized that. Highly attentions needs to be paid on to keep improving the exploring technology of drilling work on the sea.

All in all, Enviormental protection is an extremely wide subject, In my short essay I can hope at most to lift one small corner of that field and yet it is a critical corner

我的家乡原本是一个美丽的地方。山上的树木长得郁郁葱葱，河水清澈见底，小鱼、小虾在水里自由自在地游来游去。

可是，人们缺乏环保意识你看：有人拎着垃圾随手一扔，就扔到了外面的街上，捡垃圾的把垃圾翻得到处都是，大街上搞得臭熏熏，过往的行人都要捂着鼻子。树上挂满了白色垃圾塑料袋，微风一吹就像一个个阴森恐怖的魔鬼。清澈的河水变成了臭水沟，天空灰蒙蒙的，空气污浊，在这样的环境中生活真让人痛苦。

慢慢的人们意识到了保护环境的重要性，仅仅用了几年时间，就又把家乡变成了山清水秀的好地方。以前随处所见的白色垃圾没有了，街道两旁绿树成阴，显得那样干净、整洁。人们都用布袋或竹篮去买菜，塑料袋已经禁止使用了。臭水沟变成了一条条清澈的小溪，可爱的小鱼在水里欢快的游来游去。人们住的高楼四周红花绿草，一打开窗户，就能闻到花草和泥土的芬芳，清新的空气让人感到非常舒服。

Many years ago, before I moved to the city, I lived in a small town. I was so close to the nature, I could see the mountain and the clear water. I remember the town became especially beautiful after the heavy rain, the air was so fresh and I felt a little cozy, it was like a gift from god in the hot summer. The mountain looked so clear over the heavy rain, it just washed by the rain. The things around me were so green. I love living in the town, I especially like the town when it was washed by the rain. At that moment, nature and me were united, we just like a group.

As is known to us all, the surrounding has a great impact on our study and lives. In recent years, creating a green campus has been a common and popular goal for most universities or colleges. Creating a green campus has a great influence on students because most students spend their much time in campus.

However, in my opinion, to create green campus, what we need to do is not only to plant more trees and grasses to beautify our campus’s environment but also to create an energy-efficient and resource-cycled campus. Everyone on campus should be informed to form the habit of using resources properly and saving energy. In addition, the institutions should encourage students to use resources circularly.

The river

I was walking in the park, smell a smelly fish, the pedestrians on the road also cover your nose in one hand, with his other hand fan with bad smell, I cant stand, hurriedly to speed up the pace, I looked down and turned out to be a lot of dead fish in the river, is this why? I puzzled, and then takes a look, want to come out, must be the river has been polluted, I saw the river there are many junk "gather" talk loud talking and laughing together, so I must be the fish cant stand it, to "rest" in this harsh environment, the main or because people litter, let the water turbidity, polluted, alas! It is a sunny day, I a person walking in the street, the road cars, buses, motorcycles, the horn is to me a son to chung, car and more up, however, pedestrians less, because the way the air became more pungent, car tail industrial waste gas, contain a variety of toxic substances, in the sunshine, will produce many harmful gases, respiratory tract have a lot of harm to human body, high incidence of respiratory disease. Why do people have bicycles? It is one of the best tools for overcoming heart disease, and cycling can also help prevent high blood pressure, sometimes more than medicine, and can prevent weight gain, hardening of the arteries and keeping the bones in half. And bikes dont emit waste gas and are healthy. Doesnt this kill two birds with one stone? So I urge people not to drive a bike only, for the whole earth more color, one less dirty!
