My grade school days are the most wonderful time I have ever had. In those days I always wanted as eagerly to learn as a dog prowls about in search of food. The teachers taught me not only the three R’s but also the way to observe the world surrounding us. They laid more stress on observation than on memorization. Thus we had much time to talk over and trade our learning experiences. What excited me most during my grade school days, however, was to be out collecting specimens of the butterfly. Once, on a sunny day and after walking a good while, we reached a one began to catch the butterflies with great excitement while the teacher told us about the living habit of them. I do appreciate such a style, and in my minds eye, she resembles a tall tree silhouetting with all shapes of branches while stretching far into the blue sky.

Undoubtedly there is a world of difference between university and high school. University students are supposed to enjoy more freedom to develop themselves. However, Fudan seems more concerned about the efficient cooperation and teamwork among students as to prepare them for the competitive society. During the winter vacation, nothing is different for my life. I wake up 11

o’clock Am everyday, after a washing, I have a good lunch with my parents. Next

I play computer games till the time to have supper. After have dinner. I go on

"The first thing that went through my mind was the well being of my soon-to-born daughter," Michael replied. "Then, as I lay on the ground, remembered I had two choices: I could choose to live or I could choose to die. I chose to live." "Weren’t you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked. Michael continued, "... the paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the operation room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, l read ＇He＇s a dead man.＇ I knew I needed to take action." "What did you do?" I asked. "Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me” said Michael. "She asked me if I was allergic to anything. ‘Yes,’ I said. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled", ‘Gravity’” Over their laughter, I told them, ＇I＇m choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead＇."

First Snow

The first fall of snow is not only an event but it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up to find yourself in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment, then where is it to be found?

The very stealth, the eerie quietness, of the thing makes it more magical. Ifall the snow fell at once in one shattering crash, awakening us in the middle of the night the event would be robbed of its wonder. But it flutters down, soundless, hour after hour while we are asleep. Outside the closed curtains of the bedroom a vast transfbrmation scene is takiag place, just as if a myriad elves and brownies were at work, and we turn and yawn and stretch and know nothing about it. And then, what an extraordinary change it is! It is as if the house continent. Even the inside, which has not been touched, seems different, every room appearing smaller and cosier, just as if some power were trying to turn it into a woodcutter’s hut or a snug logcabin. Outside, where the garden was yesterday, there is now a white and glistening level, and the village beyond is no longer your own familiar cluster of roofs but a village in an old German fairy-tale.

You would not be surprised to learn that all the people there, the speetacled postmistress, the cobbler, the retired school master, and the rest, had suffered a change too and had become queer elvish beings, purveyors of invisible caps and magic shoes. You yourselves do not feel quite the same people you were yesterday. How could you not when so much has been changed? There is a curious stir, a little shiver of excite-ment, troubling the house, not unlike the feeling there is abroad when a journey has to be made. The children, of course, are all excitement but even the adults hang about and talk to one another longer than usual before setting down to the day’s work. Nobody can resist the windows. It is like being on board a ship.

六月七号，高考开始，每个人脸上的表情都那么凝重。我按照考号顺序坐在窗边，此时也不在乎周边的人，因为像高考和中考，功夫都放在平时。铃声响起一男一女两位监考老师走了进来。和以往重要考试一样，老师都穿着正装。很平静的一笑不笑，因为只要一笑所有的原则纪律还有威严都打了折扣，人心一散队伍就不好带了。更甚的是那个监考老师还厉声厉色的咳了一下。这让我想起了“威一武”。接着就说什么考试纪律和作弊的后果，还有监控设备等等。说这些的目的就是一个：让我们知道他不是一个人在战斗，他不是一个人!!!

也可能是给我们营造放松的气氛，或别的什么原因，他又和蔼可亲的说门外有热水，有同学需要的话他们可以帮接，要是橡皮笔等物品掉地上了举手示意他们帮检。要是考试中谁去厕所他们陪同一起去。那么煽情的话从丫口中说出来怎么就觉着特操蛋呢!在发卷子之前要核对准考证，确定真实身份以防替考。这时我看到每个人都信心满满的挺胸抬头，来证明自己的“清白”。

开考后，真是什么人都有：专心答题的、东张西望的、愁眉苦脸的、欣喜若狂的、还有睡觉的!真服了。

望出窗外，看见栓在树上的一道道红条幅上面写着一堆狗屁形式口号，树下两个警察正和一个女医生有说有笑。大门无情的拦着一群群心急火燎、望眼欲穿的家长，再远点儿能看见大嗓门的汽车一个个都捂着嘴绕道走，再远点儿，再远点儿，也许就能看到我未来的大学了吧。。。

终于最后一场的收卷铃声响了，监考老师也露出了笑容，一份份的把卷子收走。一同收走的还有我们的高中时代。没错，三十份卷子三十份青春，就这样用浆糊封条一贴，三十个命运就在这里挣扎。

高三，怎能是一个累字了得!

My grade school days were surely the happiest time in my life. Though in retrospect what I did long ago is some-what childish it is nevertheless unforgettable.
