In my understanding, if we refer to an ideal college life as a formal western dinner, then a high GPA, that is, Grade Point Average, should be the main course, while an active part in

结果我上一中的时候，别人已经上了一个星期了，当时我和十几个同学被安排在最后两排，当时的感觉是名不正、言不顺的，就像在单位里临时工的感觉，总是觉得低人一等。还有原来在乡里，大家都穿得土里土气的，也没觉着自己和人家有什么两样，可是到了城里，那女孩美得跟花似的，自己连个绿叶都算不上，本来就易于敏感的我，更是缄默不言了，自卑时刻咬噬着自己的心，那就甭提学习了，考上重点的本来都是好学生，我在这一群佼佼者中成为了垫底者。我就这样挣扎着度过了高一和高二。

Long long ago, many families had three or four children. They couldnt look after everyone well, so the children must do everything by themselves. They were too poor to go to school. Some of them liked learning, but they had to go to find jobs to make money. Since they were children, they could do lots of difficult things like their parents. But now, many families have only one child and they regard their child as a pearl. They did everything for the children. Every day, when the child gets up, their parents help him to make the room clean. They also get breakfast ready for their child.
