Air pollution is one of the major problems of the modern world. A great deal of energy is needed to run the factories of modern industrial nations. Automobile, trains, planes and busses need energy, too. Nearly all of this energy is produced by burning fuels. The burning produces wastes, some of which remain in the air, causing air pollution. Scientists are finding ways to stop air pollution especially in big industrial areas and densely-populated cities. They are studying new ways of generating electricity that may be less damaging to the environment. In the meantime, many power plants are being modernized to give off less polluted material. Also, engineers try to design and locate new power plants to do minimum damage to the environment. However, it may be that we still have a long way to go before we have a "clean" world. Nearly all of the countries are trying hard to prevent and control air pollution. There indeed seems to be no end to tasks that environmentalists will be required to do. 我的家乡————-安海，是晋南侨乡一座蜚声中外的文化古镇，现又以经济开放名闻遐迩。她钟灵毓秀，物产丰富，经济发达，令人向往。她历史悠远，文化流长，人才辈出，是一方神圣的文化宝地。著名的民族英雄郑成功一生的三分之二的时间，在这里汲取灵气。

家乡的灵源山，令人流连忘返。它风景如画，烟雾变幻，不仅是饱览泉南风光的最佳去处，而且是一座富有中国传统文化内涵的名山。站在顶峰，无限风光尽收眼底。

家乡的安平桥，一桥跨海五里，素有”天下无桥长此桥”的美称。它直如绳，平如砥，犹如长虹卧波，又似玉堑通天。桥下碧水澄清，一片片柔嫩的水草，一群群可爱的鱼儿小虾，簇簇树影。人在桥上，微风一吹，映在水里的身影跟着颤动起来，真是优哉游哉，别有一番情趣！

家乡不仅充满了湖光山色的自然美，而且洋溢着现代化的气息。恒安工业城拔地而起，安平开发区别墅幢幢，商业城里门庭若市。东大街两旁高楼林立，栉比排列，大有与天公试比高的气势。大楼上彩旗迎风招展，向你展示着当代安海的活力。走在街上，车辆如梭，行人如流，琳琅满目的商品令你眼花缭乱，目不瑕接。听！学校里每天书声琅琅，不知为祖国培育出多少人才啊！看！精神焕发的老人们相约在公园里跳舞、打太极拳，舒适地享受着晚年的欢愉生活。瞧！家庭主妇们兴致勃勃地学起英语、电脑，为更好地投身于家乡的建设积蓄力量……

今天，家乡乘着改革的春风飞速前进。在党的好政策的引领下，在家乡人民的奋斗下，在侨胞们的热情关怀下，家乡的经济展翅腾飞，并成为凝聚海峡两岸同胞和海内外乡亲情谊的一条纽带，为促进祖国统一大业做出了积极的贡献。

明日的家乡，必将乘风破浪，更上一层楼。未来的家乡四季吐芳、绿草茵茵、环境优美。条条笔直的水泥路直通小镇的各个角落；每辆车的尾部都会安装上一个“烟气消除器”，把车辆排放出来的烟气，点滴不遗地吸收起来；工厂里的废气、废水、废渣得到了最好的处理；通讯设施、交通条件也都要比现在发达许多；人民安居乐业，有如生活在世外桃源。

真美啊，安海！我要歌颂这已有八百年多年历史的家乡，我要赞美这“四时花不谢，八节春长在”的家乡，我更要把我的智慧、把我的汗水撒在这片肥沃的土地上，为安海明天的新辉煌尽一份力量！

大家好，我叫“白色污染”。因为我干的坏事太多，所以每个人都不喜欢我，可谓是臭名昭著，但这不能完全怨我。

听说我还没出世时，这个世界是一尘不染的，我多谢那些不爱护环境的人，因为有了他们，才有了现在的我，他们是我的生身父母。

我刚诞生时，到处都很脏。空气因为我的出世变得怪味扑鼻，河流因为我的降临变得浑浊不堪，草木因为我的出现变得枯萎凋零。随着废渣、废液、废气和日常生活垃圾的蔓延，我的手下逐渐增多，且个个身手不凡，如一节废电池，可以污染一方水土;一个塑料袋需要几百年的降解。生活水平提高了，人们环保意识却日益淡薄了，这使我越来越健壮，在垃圾漫天飞的环境里生活，我真逍遥自在啊!我正是长身体的时候，可要多吸收些“营养”。看，那个人又丢了一堆垃圾，哈!他真好。

现在，我已是举世闻名的“大明星”了，全世界都在关注我。但有一点让我深感不安，人们已意识到自己生活环境的恶劣，还成立了什么环保局，想通过各种方法除掉我。

人类净化环境、保护环境的举措使我的日子越来越不好过。一天，我正在街上散步，一个红领巾捡起我丢进了垃圾筒，真可恶。我好不容易才逃出来，真准备在一座城市里大展身手的时候，几个清洁工把我逮了个正着。唉，真倒霉，我已无一个安宁之日。怎么办?再这样下去，我可能就会无立足之地，生命不保了，但我不会罢休的，要抗争，除非以后人人都时刻自觉地爱护环境，使我无存身之处，否则我随时随地都会出现的。

Environmental problems are becoming more and more serious all over the world.For example,cars have made the air unhealthy for people to breathe and poisonous gas is given off by factories.Trees on the hills have been cut down and waste water is being poured continuously into rivers.Furthermore,wherever we go today,we can find rubbish carelessly disposed.Pollution is,in fact,threatening our existence.

The earth is our home and we have the duty to take care of it for ourselves and for our later generations.Fortunately,more and more people have realized these problems.Measures have been taken to cope with these problems by the government.Laws have been passed to stop pollution.I hope the problem will be solved in the near future and our home will become better and better.
