Our parenting styles compliment each other. His style is a nonstop adventure where no one has to worry about washing their hands, eating vegetables, or getting cavities. two years before his death, my father gave me a small suitcase filled with his writings, manuscripts1 and notebooks. assuming his usual joking, mocking2 air, he told me he wanted me to read them after he was gone, by which he meant after he died.

My father always stands in the center of my life, from past till now and possibly in the future.

My family was rather poor when I was in my childhood. We didnt have our own house and had to live in a shabby, small room rented from my fathers factory. The room was so small that there was little space for people to walk. I didnt have my own bed and had to sleep with my parents. This is terrible both for my parents and me.

But father made this all different! Since the room was on the third floor, namely, the top floor in that old style building, the roof was quite high above the floor. So father got an idea.  He bought two thick ropes and a flat wood that later was planed smooth, painted and drilled two holes on both ends.

Then he hung the ends of ropes up to the roof. During the daytime, these two ropes would be tied up so that people down could walk freely! When night came, father would loose the ropes and tied them to the two holes of that flat wood.  The length of these ropes was just long enough for me to sit or sleep on the board without others help.

So in this way my lovely, removable bed was born.

When winter came, this special bed obviously wouldnt be able to make me feel warm enough. But father always had his so lution! He built a garret using some flat wood and iron sticks right above the bed. With some used iron tubes, he made an iron ladder for us to climb up to the garret. Besides, he made a wood en desk for me to do my homework, and some simple furniture for my clothes, books and something else  he had in fact made a small bedroom for me.

At first, my mother and I dared not climb for fear that it might collapse. But father climbed it everyday to prove its safety. The garret looked simple even shabby and the ladder seemed to decline soon. But later when I got used to it, I found it as solid as those made by professional carpenters.

I carried all my personal things onto that garret. My father and I pasted red papers on the wall and painted the ugly furniture red. So the garret became the first "room" that belonged to me.When I was about to move to my new house, I just didnt want to leave.  That garret was created with my fathers love and sweat and intelligence, beautified with my hand and filled with so many sweet memories of my family! That hard but sweet life time would live in my memory forever with father stands in the center of it.

One Sunday, I was sad because of another "C" in English. At that time Father invited me toclimb a mountain. Soon I felt tired and wanted to give up. My father is a bus driver. He has been working on it for more than ten years. He drives the No.9 bus of my city. Its routine starts from the east and then cross the city goes the the west. This work is toilsome, especially in the summer and winter, because its hot in summer but cold in winter. Everyday, my father just stays in the narrow place and barely moves. He always gets up very early and comes home late. His work is boring but my father says that he must work hard to support our family. I hope I can grow up quickly and have a good job, so that my father do not have to work so hard.

Are you seeing that picture of my familyThe sun was shining brightly! My parents sat together in sofa. My mother hugged my brother, and I stood beside on my father. We were smile sweetly to the camera. All we us look like very happy although we were a poor family at that time.

My mother is not tall, not short but slim. She has a round face, two big eyes, a small nose and small mouth. She’s beautiful. She is forty-three years old, but she looks so young! She is my dear friends .

You must feel very strange to my father because he having full-white hairs, just look like a old man. My parent’s relationship is old husband and young wife. He is older than my mother 20 years. He can as my grandfather at his age.

You can see that my father wear a long sleeve shirt and look like a gracious man to camera. In my daily life, he is a bad-tempered man. He looks up to boy and down on girl. So he is very strict to me because I am a girl. He takes particular care for my brother. Well , his finger is long and thin. He often uses finger to tooth my ears as I was a child , wow!

My father has a bad habit that he likes smoking very much. I hate it. See, the house is full of smoke. I know it bad for his health as well as my mother, brother and mine. We advise him to give up smoking. I’m sure he will follow my advice some day.
