暑假，我和爸爸妈妈去了厦门旅游。

一路上高楼大厦琳琅满目，汽车川流不息，一幅繁荣昌盛的景象，展现在我的眼前。经过四小时的长途汽车行驶，我们终于来到了厦门。

首先来到由华侨领袖——陈嘉庚创办的集美村。那里真漂亮呀!有许多枝叶茂密的大树，绿油油的小草、五颜六色的鲜花、一栋栋红墙白瓦、高大的楼房，这些楼房盖得可真有一绝呢——楼房是有屋顶的，像一顶大大的官帽，错落有致。

我们又来到了厦门有名的景点——南普陀寺。这是一个佛教圣地，人们到这里来不仅仅是参观旅游，更多的是能求得平安如意!。听导游说这里的香火很旺盛呢!这里有很多佛像，我不管三七二十一见佛就拜，希望我许的愿望都能实现。南普陀寺旁边就是厦门大学，据说这是全国最漂亮的大学，还这是名不虚全，依着普陀山，傍着大海，还有优美的校园环境，能不漂亮吗?

厦门最漂亮的是鼓浪屿。是个小岛，从厦门坐轮渡的话，只要10分钟吧，是厦门的一个绝对的亮点。就好象去了厦门，没去鼓浪屿，那就是白去厦门了。上面有很多解放前建造的老别墅，中式的，欧式的，有美国领事馆，英国，荷兰领事馆。天主教堂，基督教堂，还有很多当地有声望的人的私人宅邸。 这个美丽的小岛因为曾被其他国家占领过，所以留下了这些建筑。同时这里也是一个音乐之乡，许多居民都会演奏乐器，并且这里还是世界上钢琴拥有量分布最密集的地方。在鼓浪屿的海边更是让人心旷神怡，蓝色的海上，游轮和快艇在行驶，对面的高楼大厦更是显出了鼓浪屿的净。它带着一点岁月的沧桑，但又不是那种纯粹的陈旧，别墅有些已经废弃，有些改成民宅，有些被政府保护起来了。不过遗憾的是，绝大多数的别墅都不能到里面去参观。岛上没有汽车，所以参观的话，只能行走。我们到了收复台湾的英雄人物郑成功的纪念馆，我们看到了他的雕像，一眼望去，他是多么的壮观。

我们坐着出租车来到泰山脚下，一看泰山那么高，我能爬得上去吗?我看到许多小朋友还有老人在爬，我一定行!我左爬右爬终于爬到了泰山的一半，我一看手表已经10点了，我又爬呀爬呀，太阳越来越光亮，我戴上了太阳镜，自己觉得酷酷的。到了12点，我们终于爬到了山顶。在山顶看得真远，看到了远处的高楼很低，很小;看到了地上的汽车像一个个小蜗牛。这时我明白了一个道理：站得高看得远。这时蓝天白云从头顶上飘过，太美了!我们每个人买了一个热狗吃，又买了一瓶饮料，我们就下去了。

今天我很累，但我非常的高兴。

现在已经开学了，我回忆暑假一件事!我尝试着做午饭：

快到中午了，我的妈妈怎么还不回家做午饭。我的肚子已经饿“咕咕”叫了。所以我要自己做午饭。

我先将米放到电饭锅中烧。然后开始做菜，我先来一样“丝瓜炒蛋”吧!我先把丝瓜的皮削掉，把丝瓜切成条。然后，我从冰箱里拿出一个鸡蛋，把鸡蛋壳弄碎，鸡蛋要打均匀。这是我打开煤气，把锅烧热，然后把油放进去。等油热了。我就将鸡蛋放了进去，然后使劲把鸡蛋搅碎，等鸡蛋变成金黄色。丝瓜就放进去了“家”门了。我用锅铲炒了几下。我开始放调料了，我放一勺盐。一勺黄酒。一勺水就行了。想不到的是，我盖上锅盖，里面的丝瓜又有许多水流出来。不想这事了。眼看它快要熟了，我马上加上味精，再炒几下。“丝瓜炒蛋”就可以出锅了。

我看着它，口水都流了出来，因为我已饿得不行了。我必须尝上一口。尝了一口味道还行，只是鸡蛋咸了一点。这时候，妈妈还是没回家。我只好再做一道菜。

来一样“黄瓜炒蛋”。我做“黄瓜炒蛋”的先后顺序和“丝瓜炒蛋”的先后顺序一样。

过了几分钟，我的“黄瓜炒蛋”也出锅了。味道也还行。

我悟出了一个道理：不要依赖任何人，自己才是最棒的!

这时，饭已经熟了，可是妈妈还是没有回家。我就左等右等，终于妈妈回来了。她吃着我做香喷喷的饭和味道鲜美的菜，夸道：“我的宝贝长大了。

The summer job is a tradition among students of American universities. Long before the end of the school year,students begin their search for jobs during vacation .

Students send letters to businesses, talk to employers about job opportunities during the summer, and ask friends and relatives to be on the lookout for jobs for them. By June the students have usually solved the problem and begin to make preparations for leaving their books to enter the business world.

Reasons for wanting a summer job are different from student to student. Some work to help pay their school expenses; others work to gain experience in their chosen professions; still others work just for the fun of it.

Typist, construction worker, salesman, lifeguard, and waiter these are some of the more common jobs that students try to find during the summer months. But many young people find work that is a little more unusual.
