暑假已经开始了，天好热阿，尽管每一天还有作业要做，但是我还是很开心。

这天爸爸答应带我去公园玩了，情绪真高兴!一大早我们就出发了，爸爸妈妈和我，很快的我们就到了。到了公园，人可真多了，天气再热，也没有阻挡小朋友们的热情。一如既往的，大家都还在嬉戏，我也不例外，我一开始就奔往旋转木马，爸爸去买了2张票，我和妈妈就上去了，爸爸说自己不上去，要在下面看着我和妈妈，呵呵，还有点不好意思呢，我和妈妈赶紧就上去了，音乐开始了，木马随着音乐一上一下，就开始的转了起来，风轻轻吹的我的脸，好生舒服!每次来公园我都要坐旋转木马，坐在着木立刻，我有一种说不出的喜悦。

我们又坐了激流探险，我观察了一下周围，来的都是和我差不多大的小朋友，和他们的爸爸妈妈，看来这也是一个“家庭”探险!很快的就排队轮到我们上小船了，呵呵，看起来不太大的船，竟然也能装我们3个人，小船慢慢随着水漂了出去，水也沿着原先的水泥道漂了出来，我伸出头看了看，水中有固定的好的齿轮，也就是说这个小船底也是有齿轮，船才随着水的冲力漂出去，我吧这个想法告诉了爸爸妈妈，他们都说我真是会观察生活!之后船漂了一大圈，到了一个高处，突然“哗”，我们从一个最高点冲了下去，我和爸爸妈妈都叫了出来，几秒钟的时间，我们就到了出发的远点，真是刺激，呵呵，那个瞬间真是令人难忘~!!

下一站是动物园，又好多可爱的小动物，有猴子，老虎，大象，狮子，鸵鸟，好多好多······我还有幸和他们做了朋友，合了影呢，他们都像是我可爱的朋友!

时间如逝，很快就到了傍晚，我依依不舍的离开了公园，但是爸爸说，只要我好好计划我的暑假生活，还会带我来的。那我要回去好好规划一下我的暑假，期盼下次再次到来~!

This summer, I had some special days. I joined Dongzhou International Educational Exchange Summer Camp.

First, I will tell you about our foreign teachers, they are Shrina and Rebecca. They are friendly and beautiful. They are students at Oxford University.

We talked about many things: famous people, subjects in England, different jobs, our deal days, western star signs, what can we say in a restaurant and so on.

We know lots of things, like what the difference is between “chef” and “cook”, all the parts of the body…

We tried to write a letter to Principal Zhang. We made a play and we drew our own comics and tried to sell it. We gave some other students English lessons, we taught them about Chinese Dragon, Chinese Martial Arts and the Olympics.

Every afternoon, we played exciting games: Chinese Whispers, Tongue Twisters, Wheelbarrow, egg and spoon, three legs…

On the last day, we had a good time. We made black tea. We put tea bags, some milk and lots of water in to a big bowl, and then we stirred the tea until it became red and dark. Oh, it tasted good! Later, we used eggs, flour and milk to make many pancakes. To cook them is very interesting. When we finished it, the pancakes looked round and nice. We put some jam on it. How delicious! I won’t ever forget it.

The summer Camp is a really good chance for me. I know the local things in England. I learned a lot and like English more. I also know better ways to learn English well.

I hope one day I can see you in England.

My Family

My family includes three people and a pet. These three people are my father, my mother , and I. I also have a cat named cookie.

My father is hardworking and playful. He rus a small business at home. He is very busy, but he always s firnds the time to cook dinner and help me with homework. Although he is strict at times, he can also be playful and funny.

My mother is caring and hardworking, too. She’s a chemist and often works very late. Nevertheless, she is always there to take care of me. Though her expectations for me are very high. I know she only wants what’s best for me.

到了重渡沟，我们先去了有名的鸡冠洞，但要进去可不简单，因为还要上3百多阶台阶，真是让我们累坏了!我们随着导游买完票，就一起进去了鸡冠洞，还别说，鸡冠洞里的景色不但美，里面的温度和外面的温度真是差距太大了，里面温度十几度，外面都要三十多度，真是让人倍感凉爽啊!

在鸡冠洞里面，我们欣赏到了：海狮戏水、菊花石、一吻千年、千年一吻、石琴、冰灯、莲花盆、斜塔、鳄鱼拜寿、雪瀑、悬接石、玉柱擎天、八仙过海、沙漠之舟、水晶花、玲珑塔、将军石、中华第一柱……真是景色美如画啊!

下午，我们去了重渡沟的水帘洞和农耕村。农耕村里真是好玩，我和胡喆涛一会玩迷宫看谁先找到出口，一会又去体验制作陶器，一会又随着爸爸妈妈们一起照相……真是好玩极了。

第二天我们去了有名的泄愤崖瀑布，在哪里，水冰凉冰凉的，一站到水里会感到非常的凉爽。下午，我们又去漂流，那里的水上乐园虽然没马拉湾好玩，但还是让我和胡喆涛玩得很痛快。

两天的时间一点一点的过去，在不知不觉中，两天已经过去，我们依依不舍得跟着导游，坐车回家了……

It was the first day of our summer holiday. All of us were very happy. Why? Because we have one months to do things we love to do. We are free.Although we have some homework. But we can finish them in several days. And the rest time we can make good use of. My god! We have been very tired after hard studying. 下一站就是“上有天堂，下有苏杭”中的杭州，杭州是一个非常诗意的城市。因为这里有一个美丽动人神话的传说-----《白蛇传》，还有迷人的西湖。所以这座城市是不是很诗意啊? 到杭州就一定要去西湖，我们乘着游船在西湖上行驶。看着碧波万倾的西湖;高大神秘的雷峰塔;;小巧玲珑的三潭映月，令人是大饱眼福啊。面对着辽阔的西湖，真是“欲把西湖比西子，浓妆艳抹总相宜。”于是我 也想吟上一首小诗：“ 西湖之城美，最美数西湖。碧波浪万倾，如在画中行。湖水如明镜，月照更晶莹。”前面隐隐约约出现了高楼大厦，再看看这具有古典美的西湖，真是现代与古代相就合，这风景自然美不胜收了。 “上有天堂，下有苏杭”这句话一点儿也不假!

苏州的美是朴素，典雅的美;杭州的美是失意，迷人的美;上海的美是时尚，清新的美。

这次暑假去苏杭旅游，不仅领略了苏杭天堂般的美丽，还和好朋友一起度过了一段美妙的旅程。

我早就听说北戴河风光明媚，气候宜人。春无风沙，冬无严寒，秋季天高气爽，夏季最热的是农历六七月。平均气温才只有23摄氏度。北戴河属于燕赵大地，河北省的一道名胜风景区。位于秦皇岛东南15公里处。这么美的景色，我好想去享受一番，感受一下祖国的大好风光啊!今年暑假，爸爸可圆了我这个梦想。

我随爸爸来到机场，踏上了我的旅游之路。经过了漫长的飞机上生活的岁月后，我们便到达了目的地。我和爸爸先找到了预定的酒店，把自己安置了下来，好好的睡上了一觉，之后，就驱车赶往北戴河。和我们同行的还有一位伯伯，那是爸爸公司的客户，恰好他是河北的，这次旅游还是他当我们的导游呢!几十分钟过后，我们到达了我心目中的人间仙境。

哇!我看到了汹涌的大海!它比我想象中的海要大了许多倍，往远处望，海天相接，无边无际，不知有多辽阔。

坐在沙滩上，海浪轻轻地拍打着我的身体，我觉得眼前的大海，与小说中写的，电影电视中拍的，与众不同，并没有那么可怕，那么凶猛。

我慢慢地走向深海，正起劲时，忽然一个小山似的海浪打来，我一点也没防备，“咕噜”喝了一大口海水。用力品尝一下，又苦又涩，又咸又难喝，实在太倒霉了吧!

海水忽而高，忽而低，忽而让人意想不到，忽而使人未报先知。

在沙滩上，我用海沙堆沙雕、堆沙人。我先用沙子堆成人的大概模样，再用小贝壳和小彩石做炯炯有神的大眼睛，高高的鼻梁和樱桃小嘴，又用海草做飘逸的长发。可是这个小沙人一点儿也不坚强，正当我着乐滋滋的欣赏自己做的小沙人时，一个海浪打来，它就瘫痪变形，“人影全无”。

时间飞流一逝，转眼间黄昏来临了，我们只好回酒店了。

晚上，我躺在床上，似乎还听到远处传来了海浪拍打礁石的声响“轰嗒，轰嗒”。

一眼望去，洱海没有真正的海那么大，但也一眼望不到边。不一会儿轮船就启动了，就在这时，我看见一些悬崖峭壁，站在船上最高的甲板上，眺望着洱海的美景，天是那么蓝，水是那么绿，苍山顶上不时有着雾缠绕着，虽然模糊不清。可是我还是能感觉得到苍山那盛气凌人高傲的气势!洱海有着苍山为伴，一点也不会寂寞!我不禁赞叹到大自然的匠心独运，雕琢出这么美的风景。站在船上，一股海风向我迎面吹来，所有的烦恼烟消云散，大自然的景色让我感到如此畅快，看到了这些，我在心底里不得不佩服大自然的神奇。在船上偶尔还可以看到一两条鱼在湖面上跳跃。那湖面上荡漾着许多波纹，让人感到吹着海风，看着风景是那么惬意!

欣赏完洱海风光接着我们还观白族的歌舞表演，品尝了着名的“白族三道茶”。白族是云南主要的民族之一，女的要叫“金花”，男的要叫“阿鹏”。在表演中，美丽的白族姑娘用美丽的舞姿与嘹亮的歌喉向观众展示了自己的民族文化，金花们一一端上第一道茶，品尝第一口，你会觉得很苦，但是当你喝完后，会有一丝甘甜回味在喉中，第二口茶是甜茶，是用大理名小吃――乳扇、核桃仁片及红糖做成的，入口香甜而不腻。第三道茶是回味茶，是用蜂蜜、生姜、花椒……做成的，让人回味无穷。这就是“一苦、二甜、三回味”。这仿佛也是人生哲理一样，先苦后甜，到最后再来，慢慢回味。

I spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. I used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation I simply could not afford to do so. I would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations.

Though those examinations were still a year away, I had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things I had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this.

The Colosseum or Flavian Amphitheater was begun by Vespasian, inaugurated by Titus in 80 A.D. and completed by Domitian. Located on marshy land between the Esquiline and Caelian Hills, it was the first permanent amphitheater to be built in Rome. Its monumental size and grandeur as well as its practical and efficient organization for producing spectacles and controlling the large crowds make it one of the great architectural monuments achieved by the ancient Romans.

The amphitheater is a vast ellipse with tiers of seating for 50,000 spectators around a central elliptical arena. Below the wooden arena floor, there was a complex set of rooms and passageways for wild beasts and other provisions for staging the spectacles. Eighty walls radiate from the arena and support vaults for passageways, stairways and the tiers of seats. At the outer edge circumferential arcades link each level and the stairways between levels.

The three tiers of arcades are faced by three-quarter columns and entablatures, Doric in the first story, Ionic in the second, and Corinthian in the third. Above them is an attic story with Corinthian pilasters and small square window openings in alternate bays. At the top brackets and sockets carry the masts from which the velarium, a canopy for shade, was suspended.

The construction utilized a careful combination of types: concrete for the foundations, travertine for the piers and arcades, tufa infill between piers for the walls of the lower two levels, and brick-faced concrete used for the upper levels and for most of the vaults.

The Colosseum was designed to hold 50,000 spectators, and it had approximately eighty entrances so crowds could arrive and leave easily and quickly.

The plan is a vast ellipse, measuring externally 188 m x 156 m (615 ft x 510 ft), with the base of the building covering about 6 acres. Vaults span between eighty radial walls to support tiers of seating and for passageways and stairs.

The facade of three tiers of arches and an attic story is about 48.5 m (158 ft) tall — roughly equivalent to a 12-15 story building.
