This August I went to a two-week long English camp which was held by English Beacon in Yantai city, Shandong Province. There were over a hundred middle school students from all over the country and thirty experts in English teaching participating in this exciting camp.

While we were there, it was required that we speak only English to our teachers and with each other. There were many activities which were funny and helped us to strengthen our oral English skills, such as, the Second Annual National Debate for Middle School Students,the Third National English Speech Competition for Middle School Students and English parties. Matt gave us a class this afternoon, at the first part of the class, we saw a film. It was mainly about American football. After the film, we began t get to know the American football. It is similar to soccer, but it was much rougher. Players might get more easily. In another word, it was a game full of danger, they played just like fighting. One of the players just broke his leg during the match, and he would never play American football, because of his leg. What a pity! Matt told us that when he was in high school, he also take part in American football. He had broken his fingers for three times and his leg for once. this year‘s summer vacation was most enjoyable. i spent fifteen days helping my grandparents doing farm work in the countryside， where i saw mountains fields covered with green plants. sometimes i went swimming in the river to the west of the village， the water in which was quite clear.

中午，我们坐了几个小时的汽车，来到了闻名中外的敦煌莫高窟。进了景区，只见山壁上凿了一个个洞窟，数都数不清，怪不得莫高窟又叫“千佛洞”。给我印象最深的是唐朝的一尊大佛，有5层楼高。它的左手塑造得非常灵活，像有血有肉似的。右手因为坏了，后来宋朝工匠修复的，就不一样了，僵硬而死板，没有一点生气。导游说唐朝是我国最强盛的时期，它的工匠本领也是最高的。

因为前一天晚上下了场大雨，敦煌发生了一次罕见的山洪爆发，一条泥浆翻滚的河流冲断了我们回去的公路。导游决定把老人和孩子用越野车送出沙漠，其他人步行穿过沙漠。一想到要坐上我一辈子都不太可能坐上的越野车，我不禁兴奋起来。只见这辆黑色的越野车在一望无际的大沙漠里奔驰着，忽高忽低，“嗖——”地冲上一个陡坡，又“呼——”地滑下来……哇，真爽!就像电影里一样，惊险、刺激!

听妈妈说，他们徒步穿过沙漠，也是一次终生难忘的经历。虽然今天发生了一件意外的事，但让我们觉得更有味道。

进洞之后，眼前马上呈现出无数色彩斑斓的美景，各种奇形怪状的钟乳石在五光十色的灯光下显得格外美丽动人。特别是那“龙口银牙”，它本来是一个大石头，中间不知怎么裂了一个缝，缝中一排排坚锐的“牙齿”滴着水，在灯光照耀下，显得有些吓人，但又有种说不出的美感。往里面走，就看到“象鼻山”了，这是令我印象最深刻的一处风景，那是一块大大的石头上，长出了一根长长的鼻子，活灵活现，太像大象的鼻子了，真想摸一摸，看它会不会喷出水来?

洞里真是太冷了，还没走到一半，我就感觉自己仿佛被关在冰箱里了，好在我听了老师的话，多带了件衣服，现在起了重要的作用——让我穿着它，继续往前欣赏。同行的人们，指指点点，这里看看，那里碰碰，有说有笑。一会儿，我们又到了“趵突泉”，三个大大的喷涌出来的“泡泡”，让我感觉到特别的惊奇。还有“神笔垂挂”，仿佛一支大笔立在洞中，让我立刻想到了神笔马良，这个美丽的犀牛洞，不会是神笔马良画下来的吧?这时，听到有人说：“快看，真像!真像!”真像什么呢?好奇心驱使我赶紧走过去，一看，那个钟乳石的造型真像主席啊，难怪好多人往里面丢纸币，以求健康平安，祈求幸福。这真是让我大开眼界。

一路上，还看到了很多美景。这些美景之所以能一直保留下来，我想可能是与这洞的气候有关，因为冷，所以不那么容易风化，所以能凝固成各种各样的造型。这不用电的空调犀牛洞，让我深深佩服大自然这个设计师把犀牛洞设计千姿百态、如此美丽。

茶余饭后去散步是我每天的必修课。漫步在小区的花草旁，呼吸着清香的空气，与花鸟作伴，欣赏着玫瑰的浓郁，百合的高洁，晚饭花的奇特，还有玉兰的娇美，美人蕉的绚丽,我会轻轻地对自己说：“生活真是美的。”我用真诚感受身边的五颜六色，用热情欣赏周围的姹紫嫣红。我不由自主地从内心发出：“我，属于大自然!”

更多地，我会一头扎进书的海洋，呼吸着书店、图书馆特有的那种书香的气味，感受漫步书海的乐趣。钻进历史的海洋，我会为秦始皇焚书坑儒的举动而激愤，为霸王别姬的悲惨而落泪，为诸葛亮“出师未捷身先死”扼腕叹息;漫步文学的殿堂，我渐渐体会到宝钗的无奈、黛玉的才华，体会到玛丽的倔强、科林的孱弱，体会到余秋雨的“晨雨初听”、钱钟书的“围城”……

I took a trip to Shanghai with my mother during the seven-day holiday. It took us more than two hours to drive to Shanghai from my home in Haimen. We stayed in a large hotel on the eighth floor.

On the first day, I just stayed in the hotel and rested. On the second day, my brother and I went to Nanjing Road. It’s the busiest street in Shanghai. When we got there, there were lots of people.

We walked from one shop to another. I bought two T-shirts and two pairs of trousers for the coming summer. The T-shirts and trousers I bought are all white because white is my favourite colour.

My brother also bought some clothes. On the third day, my mother took me to Jinjiang Entertainment Centre. It was full of people. I played many kinds of games there. I had a good time.

The other days, I went to some other interesting places, such as the Oriental Bright Pearl TV Tower, the Huangpu River and Shanghai International Conference Centre.

I didn’t forget to do my homework in the evening. I had a full and happy holiday.

今年暑假，我和爸爸妈妈一起到宁波舟山群岛去旅游。宁波是我的老家，这里有一片美丽的海岛。有妙不可言的海湾和沙滩，有淳朴的渔村，渔民，还有美味的海鲜。这里迷人的名胜古迹吸引了来自五湖四海的游客前来观光旅游。
