比赛一开始，五位选手一起冲，武大靖位于前列，但跑完多半程却突然被召回。工作人员抓紧修整冰面，比赛又重新开始，武大靖再次起跑位于前列，但因体力告罄，拍拍队友的手，让其超越，自己则压住身后对手的步伐。最后，中国队任子威获得了金牌，李文龙银牌，而大靖却未能站上领奖台。
