Summer can be very hot in southernxx where the temperature usually goes up to 32"C or more. Because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. Also because of this I stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky. Actually I like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. In the summer vacation that has just ended I went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. This summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. In other words, I must find time to study, too. So I divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

I spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. I used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation I simply could not afford to do so. I would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations. Though those examinations were still a year away, I had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things I had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this. At first I was rather dismayed at the thought of this, but later I thought it was better this way because by working hard this summer I could count on endless happy summers to come. With this in mind I then set to work like anything and only occasionally went out for a change or did some physical. I was not at all bored by this kind of life, for I was sustained by a hope.

The summer vacation had come round again. I was happy that I could forget about school at least for a while. Lest I fool around all through this summer vacation, I made a plan as to how to spend it. First, I thought I should go over all those things my teachers taught in the previous term so that I could have a better understanding of them. Then I thought I should take up some forms of exercise, such as walking, running and rowing, to keep me physically strong. It stood to reason that with such a good plan I should make the best of my vacation time. I did, because I lived up to what I had planned.

Now more and more people get to know its important to protect our living environment.As a student，its my duty to do something for the earth. From now on, Ill go to school by bike or on foot instead of in a car. Ill use fewer plastic bags to reduce white pollution. In order to save energy Ill plant more trees so that the air will be fresher. Ill take less lift and reuse water. At last l will use second-hand books,so we dont need to cut down more trees.If everyone takes action, our enivronment will be better and better. Our world will be more beautiful.

Thanksgiving which falls on the fourth Thursday of November, is one of the

biggest American holidays. This holiday started in the early 1600s after

settlers arrived in America. These people who came from Europe didnt know how

to survive in the wild new country. Luckily, they met some friendly American

Indians, who showed them how to hunt turkeys and grow corn. In the fall, after

the harvest, the settlers had a great feast. They invited the Indians to thank

them for their help. Today the tradition continues. On Thanksgiving Day,

Americans invite their friends over for a turkey dinner and give thanks for what

they have.

My schoool life is busy and fantastic。 First， we have four classes in the morning and three in the afternoon。 We have to get to school before 7：30 because we have a morning class。 Second， I like my school life because teachers and my classmates are friendly and helpful。 We also have lots of after—school activies。 Third， our school environment is very beautiful， the teachers all can make their lesson interesting and instructive。 So I like my school life very much。

我们背起了沉重的行李，迈出了轻快的步伐，踏上了军训的旅程。

军训，对于我来说是一个新鲜而有趣的活动，一路上，我抱着满心的好奇与期待。一个小时以后，我们来到了园山青少年活动基地。我目不转睛的打量着我将生活三天的土地：整齐的宿舍楼、宽敞的饭堂、宽阔的训练场……我浮想联翩，兴奋中带了一丝紧张。

我们按照教官提出的严格要求穿上了军装，戴上了军帽。整理好着装后，我们便开始了严格的训练。教官提醒我们，穿上了军装，就必须知道自己是一个小军人，绝不可以有半点的放松。看着那严肃的面孔，听着那严厉的警告，我们认真了起来。接着，教官教我们站军姿，看起来简简单单的动作竟然有那么大的学问，“挺胸，收腹，双脚并拢。头抬高……”教官滔滔不绝的教我们，我们也一丝不苟的跟着学。我们当惯了“小皇帝”的人，怎么有这能耐。不到几分钟，我们就感觉腰酸背痛，汗水一个劲的从毛孔里钻出来，流淌在我们的脸颊。我们累得咬牙切齿，脚也开始颤抖了。教官见了，气势汹汹地对我们吼道：“动!给我接着动!”我们听了，便接着站着，站着……

更苦的还在后头呢，稍息、立正、跨立等几样小的动作就差不多把我们给累垮了，强烈的阳光不停地考验着我们，手酸了，脚麻了，我们仍然坚持着，努力着……

军训的最后一天，是难忘的。吃完早餐，我们踏着整齐的步伐，雄赳赳气昂昂地走向会场。调整好了队伍，便开始了训练我们领导力与责任心的活动。首先，选出李林枫、任师瑶为我们的领袖。接着，主持人领导我们以及领袖宣誓。然后，开始了训练：主持人在台上喊“向左转!稍息!向右转!”，再让教官找出做错了的同学，“你!刚刚做错了!”、“你这个笨蛋，稍息就稍息，跨什么立啊!”、“你……”听到一阵又一阵纠错的声音，听到一阵又一阵“对不起，我错了!”的道歉的声音，我的鼻子酸了，眼泪如断了线的珍珠般落了下来，流淌在脸上，下巴上，脖子上，可是除了眼泪，我们全身都不能动，一个小小的不规范的动作，就会使领袖为了我们的错误而绕着会场跑一圈，我想着：千千万万不能出错，我没有资格出错!可是，“对不起，我错了”的声音仍然在延续着。看着两个领袖为了我们一圈又一圈地跑着，脸上的汗不停地流着，泪水涌在眼中，手时不时擦去脸上的汗水，听着教官讲的感动人心的话。顿时，我感到无比地自责与内疚，我渴望替领袖跑步，我渴望为辛苦劳累的爸爸妈妈捶捶腿，揉揉腰或是端杯茶，我渴望减轻为我负责任的人的负担。“不要跑了，我来替你们跑!”我泪眼朦胧地说着。接着，教官说道：“想替领袖跑的举手!”还没等教官说完。我们就不约而同地举起了手，我们的手举得是那么地直!我们认识得是那么深刻!从我们第二次宣誓的那刻起，我百分之百地确认我长大了!

“沐浴阳光，快乐成长。接受磨砺，永远坚强!”随着一阵洪亮的口号声，我们离开了军训营地。

军训生活结束了，虽然我的嗓子哑了，浑身酸痛，但这次军训锻炼了我不畏困难的精神，培养了我负责任守纪律的作风，增强了我的自理能力，也让我明白了一个平日很难明白的深刻道理：在人生大道上，不管路上有多么泥泞、多么坎坷都要学会去尝试、去前进、才会获得更大的成功!

Nowadays, there are a considerable number of individuals who prefer to lead a low-carbon lifestyle which find expression in the fact that more and more commuters are using public transportation system in their daily life.

Low carbon lifestyle can endow us and our society with numerous benefits. Firstly, it goes beyond doubt that low carbon lifestyle contributes a lot to the environmental protection and it is a favorable way to slow down the rate of climate change of our earth, which also means a lot to our health.

We are supposed to undertake the responsibility to lead a low-carbon lifestyle, which is of great significance. And there is a diversity of measures we can take so as to lead such an environmental-friendly life. For one thing, we are expected to minimize the use of private cars, which emit a large amount of greenhouse gases. Whenever I remember my grade school days, I tend to be wistful over. Though no more are those days, I will never forget now wonderful they were. I was efree in my school days and all the year round I lived happily. I was not a hardworking pupil. Every day I directed my attention not to study but to how to out to how to cut classes and class leader as I was. I did not act like one; instead, I even encouraged others to cut classes, too. of course. I was caught out and severely punished. Often in preparing for a test we pupils would work together to devise ways of cheating in the test room. Though I was poor at cheating in any test. I never gave up but would again and again, hoping t way I would get high marks. With the passage of time I have gradually cast off those bad habits I once had always feel embarrassed each time I think of my foolish behavior in 1the past, I owe what I am to all my teachers. Conscientious instruction. Had it not been for them, I would not be a useful member of society as I am today, My grade school days not only added to my experience as a boy but give me now something lasting to remember by. How I wish the past days could come back, for in retrospect they were so wonderful.
