Water is very important to us. If you don’t have water for three days, you

will die. We can use water for flowers, swimming, washing and many different

things. We use it to cook, make electricity, put out fires and so on. We use

millions of liters of water every day.

Do you know how does the water come to your home? It travels through water

pipes. Some are long and wide but some are short and narrow. Then the water

travels through the water pipes to the reservoirs. Then it travels through the

water pipes to the river and to the special factories (we call water plants)

that purify the water. When the water is purified, we can drink it. Please don’t

leave garbage in the water on which we line, and keep the water clean.

Chinese is the necessary subject for students to learn. Even though some

students learn Chinese all the time, they know little about Chinese culture.

Today, the world is crazy about learning mandarin. A lot of foreigners are

interested in Chinese culture, and they learn the traditional thoughts from

Chinese great minds, such as Confucious. They also learn Tai Chi and they love

it. On the contrary, many Chinese students are not interested in our culture,

and they feel bored to learn. We should learn and get to know our culture well.

上学期，我们学了毛主席的《七律·长征》，认识到了“红军不怕远征难”。这周五，我们亲身体

验到了远征难的艰辛和痛苦——20公里远足行动。

上午八点四十分，我们的队伍如同一条长龙一样，浩浩荡荡从学校出发，向绿道进军。一路上大家有的说说笑笑；有的蹦蹦跳跳；还有地哼着小调……一片欢声笑语。不一会儿，我们就来到了仙人谷驿站。

这时，远离了市区的车笛与喧闹，走在红色的依山势而修建的绿道上，尽情享受大自然的清新与美丽。正值春夏交际，绿道两旁鲜花正艳，草木茂盛，引得同学们不由自主发出一阵阵惊叹！

四十分钟后，我们来到了伊人桥，这是一座铁索桥，人走在上面摇摇晃晃，桥下就是万丈深渊，吓得我们都不敢往下多看一眼。这不由让我想起了红军飞夺泸定桥的战役。这时大家还精力充沛，我还和几个好朋友合影留念！

远足一个半小时，我们来到了绿道的妙元驿站。大家休整片刻，这时，有的同学拿出了干粮小口吃了起来。这时我的肚子也向我发出抗议，双腿也感到了酸疼，呼吸加快，大汗淋漓，口干舌燥。我也情不自禁地拿出来馒头，吃的津津有味。

还没等我们小补完毕，队伍就又出发了，这时队伍中的欢声笑语少了不少，更多的是同学们不停地擦汗与询问：

……

中午十夺点左右，总算可以吃午饭了，大家一下子瘫坐在地上，没有哪个人再顾及地板是否干净，大家迫不及待地拿出馒头和矿泉水如猪八戒吃人参果一样狼吞虎咽起来。这时感觉馒头是这么香，矿泉水是这么的舔，就连平时不爱吃的榨菜也感到美味十足，连说话的时间都顾不上。

饭后，我们沿途返程，一路上，大家再无心观赏沿途的风景，总想着早一点回到学校，大家一个个满脸通红，小腿肚子如同灌了铅一样，每迈一步都要使出九牛二虎之力似的。

当我们走进校门，看到校长和杨老师带领一年级的小朋友在操场上迎接我们时，大家顿时如获得胜利的士兵一样，各个昂首挺胸！

这次远足行动真是辛苦啊！我的双脚晚上还在发抖，从中我也真正切切地体会到了红军两万五千里长征之苦，也知道了新中国的来之不易，远足行动让我受益匪浅。

读书是我的爱好。读书时，我可以得到很多的快乐。当我有空时，我经常读一些名著。书是我最好的朋友，它们总是好好陪着我。他们给了我力量。通过阅读，我开阔了视野也让我的心变宽了。通过阅读，我变得越来越知识渊博。

My favorite books are Readers and VOA. Readers cover the knowledge of culture, literature, and history, so I can benefit a lot by reading it. VOA can let me know the foreign countries better. Thanks to VOA, my oral English is improving day by day.

我最喜欢的书是读者和美国之音。读者覆盖了文化，文学，历史知识，所以我可以通过阅读受益匪浅。美国之音，可以让我更好的了解国外。由于美国之音，我的英语口语日益提高了。

3月12日，是个营造绿色的日子。

我们三（2）班的同学们开展了“呼唤绿色的明天，我与花儿共成长“为主题的植树节班会活动，纪念这个洋溢着绿色的节日。

这次主题班会主要是让同学们了解“植树节”，培养“爱护自然，绿化环境”意识。主题班会上，同学们了解了有关植树节的各类知识，有植树节的由来，有植树节设立的意义和作用，还有我国植树节节徽等等。围绕我班“做一个有道德的人”主题实践活动方案，向大家介绍了常见室内花卉的栽培，知绿才能护绿，了解植物的养护知识才能真正关爱这片绿色。

在这次活动中，同学们不仅收获了有关植树节、花卉栽培的知识，还增强了同学们的环保意识、生态意识，更树立起了“建设绿色家园，从我做起”的责任心。我们不仅要爱绿、护绿，更要培绿，大家要行动起来，用自己的双手为我们的家园添一分绿。

当你走在到大街上，你会看到湘乡市有着翻天覆地的变化，街道变美了，每天都会有洒水车经过；在原来满地都是垃圾的大地，现在变得干干净净的了。以前那个“无恶不作”的湘乡市现已成了温柔的“小姑娘”。

这一切的一切都是由李书记上任以来的变化。“创建省级文明城市，共创和谐湘乡。”“湘乡是我家，建好靠大家。”等宣示语立在了大街上，就好像一位位壮士一样在提醒大家不要乱丢乱扔。

现在，所有的人都很重视这件事情并有所改变。比如：现在公交车都不超载行驶了，以前的公交车上的人车位挤满了，公交车司机不听乘客的，依然我行我素的。但是现在无论怎么样，只要乘客坐满了，就坐满也不乘乘客了。

“省级文明城市，我在行动”被妹妹知道后，她再也坐不住了，双休日的时候，她拉着我的手说：“姐姐，我们去市政府吧。”“为什么呢？干嘛去？”我问。她说：“现在不是创建省级文明城市吗？我们也做点小事呀！”“做什么小事呀，您做的事情会是小事么？”我故意说。“当然是去捡垃圾呀！你想啊要是”经过妹妹的一番思想教育后，我终于肯跟妹妹去捡垃圾了。

现在我们湘乡市已经创建省级文明城市成功了！这一切的一切都是咱们的努力，加油！湘乡加油！中国加油！
