只见这位老人手法熟练地将废品过称，嘴里不时地向我报账。最后，他说：“一共19块。”我也没在意，拿了钱就进屋关门了。过了几分钟，门外响起一阵急促的敲门声，我急忙打开门，只见那位收废品的老人一脸窘迫地站在门前。他开口道：“对不起啊，刚才我算错了，应该是21块，我少给2块。”说完把两个硬币硬生生地塞到我手里，然后转身便离开了。接硬币的时候，我注意到老人的手是如此干瘦枯黄，布满了岁月的斑斑点点。望着他远去的瘦小背影，手里握着略带体温的硬币，一种感情不禁涌上心头。

刘备曾言：“勿以善小而不为。”生活中的点点滴滴，普通人的一举一动，都可以弘扬中华民族传统美德。所以，我们应该从生活中的小事做起，从自身做起，弘扬社会主义核心价值观，努力成长为合格的社会主义接班人。

“据央视报道，中国人每年在餐桌上浪费的粮食多达800多万吨，价值高达2000亿元，被倒掉的粮食相当于2亿多人一年的口粮。”第一次看到这则公益广告的内容，相信大家都会感到震惊，同时为我们中国人所造成的浪费而感到耻辱。

节约是中华民族的传统美德，是我们民族世代相传的精神财富，也是我们这个民族百折不饶、生生不息的力量源泉。每个公民都要在工作、学习、生活中自觉弘扬节约的优良作风，养成节约一滴水、一度电、一张纸、一滴油、一粒米的良好习惯。

节约要从小事做起，从日常生活做起。“聚沙可成塔，积水可成渊”。小朋友们在吃饭时要尊重农民伯伯的劳动，爱惜粮食，争做“光盘行动”的小模范。外出就餐时，更不能摆阔气，讲面子，要合理点菜，不剩饭，不浪费，吃多少，要多少，吃不了，打包走!大家要树立节约光荣、浪费可耻的思想观念，一起对“浪费”坚决说不!

节约是一种美德，更是一种良好习惯。随手关灯、随手关水龙头，不让电脑、电视、空调等长时间待机……还有我们小学生用的草稿纸，一面用完，另一面一定要接着使用。另外大家外出旅行时，可以随身携带水杯和洗漱用品，外出就餐时随身携带筷子，减少对宾馆和饭店一次性用品的使用，即卫生又避免资源的浪费，算得上一举多得。

生活中需要节约的地方还很多，节约的行为还需要大力提倡，只要我们每个人都从我做起，从一滴一点的小事做起，养成良好的习惯，勤俭节约的传统美德就一定能在全社会进一步发扬光大。
