Although he only got a skeleton of the giant marlin at last he is also a great hero in many people’s heart.

In the article the old man is a great man. Although he failed for many time in his life he never gave up. He is a steel-willing man who insisted his dream and work hard. You can destroy him but you can’t beat him. Whatever he faced to he would never yield to the difficult which shows a strong spirit.

In our lives I think we should learn something from the old man which will make us have a more valuable life. Whenever and wherever we meet trouble we should never give up and try our best to overcome it. We should always keep on our dream and make it come true. Every one has his backbone which can’t be bended by anyone which is very important for everyone in his whole life. If we meet difficulty in our life we should face it bravely and work out some way to solve the problem whatever would happen at last. We can be destroyed but we can’t be beat by anything or anyone. If you failed for many times in your life you wouldn’t surrender because if you try to do it you may succeed in your life but if you do not do it you would not be succeed forever. Everyone has his advantages and disadvantages in his life but we should face to our disadvantages and we must be confident which would also make us be confident of our life. We should have faith in what we do in our life we will have a more beautiful life in the future and our dream will come true. We should pay more attention to what we do during our life rather than what we will get at the end because I think it is more important than any thing you get finally. If you enjoy you life not something you get you will have a meaningful life and a noble spirit. It will hurt you when you pay more attention to what you get in the future. Pride and Prejudice is a chefdoeuvre. But my first impression of this story was from screen.

Its long long ago, maybe before I can read english books. I dont remember which movie edition I had seen. But I was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. Its pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the heroine,though I didnt think shes beautiful. But shes smart. However, I didnt pay much attention to the plot. I thought its so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I havent read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice.

In fact, I didnt understand the story at that time. I didnt know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didnt find where s the prejudice. You can like what you like and hate what you hate, but you should be objective when you meet external world. I think it means that you should consider things roundly, not just partial. Yesterday, I read the novel called "Tess of the Durbevilles". written by a famous Englishwriter Thomas Hardy.

The novel tells a story about a pretty and good girl called Tess, who lived in a village in Marlott. To her sadness, when she was seventeen, she was no longer a pure and untouched girl. She gave birth to a baby, which didnt live long. So Tess changed from a pure gir l to a grown —up.

Because she was the eldest of the 7 children in the family, she found a job to support the whole family in a dairy.There she knew Angel and married him. But unluckily. when Angel knew her sad story, he left her and went to Brazil.Tess led a hard an d lonely life after that. Later when she knew Angel had retumed home and found out that she was living with the man who had given the damage to her before,Tess couldnt accept the fact and killed the man who was living with her.

Then she escaped and spent together with Angel three days and nights. The police found them on the morning of the fourth day. A few days later, Tess was executed.

Having read this novel, I like the heroine very much because of her purity, warmness, nobility and the spirit of devotion, She dared to fight against the evil, bravely seek and sturggle for the rights of love.

The book is a little difficult to read at first. Personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. Other than referring to persons of African decent in derogatory terms (which Im sure uses terms even young children already know), the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages.

I really can’t help losing myself in the colorful pictures and clear words in the books. After reading the books, I have been considering a question: What if we lived without science? It is hard to imagine how our forefathers could do without so many conveniences that modern science brings about. Back then, only a small group of people enjoyed the very few comforts. But the majority of people didn’t even have sufficient food, let along their privilege to be educated. Anyway, it is science that changes the world and makes people’s life better and better, although it also leads to some bad aspects at the same time.

From the discovery of the gravity to the first step on the moon, we human beings have experienced a long process of developing science. And now, this process is still continuing much faster. New organisms are already being engineered, and new genetically modified crops promise benefits from higher yields and less use of harmful chemicals and so on. A lot of examples are showing this point. In the future, changes are likely to be even much greater as science reaches out to shape life itself. Maybe one day, the possibility that life existed on Mars billions of years ago will be potentially one of the greatest discoveries of our time. It is the force of the competition, we human beings’ inquiring mind and initiative that bring about the non-stopped development of science. Therefore, it is difficult and impossible to prevent science from changing the world and our life as well.

一天在小男孩上学过河的时候，天下着倾盆大雨，小男孩穿着雨衣走上河面，走着走着就碰见了他们同班的一个女同学，她打着伞和小男孩一起走到了河的中间，这里雨越下越大了，在小男孩不注意的时候，那个小男孩回过头来时小女孩早就被淹死了，小男孩害怕极了，他连忙跑回家躲起来了。当他爸爸说：“你们学到了第几课？”小男孩说：“我们学到了八课。”爸爸知道他们根本没学到八课，也知道他这几天没去上学，拿起棒子打了起来，这时小男孩的姐姐看到了就说：“别打了！别打拉！”第二天小男孩的爸爸怕他又不去上学就背着他过了这条河，送他去上学。

日子一天天过去，小男孩一天天的长大了，是中学的一名学生了，他的成绩非常的好，后来小男孩考上了大学，就是因为爸爸得了一场疾病，他的大学学校在很远很远的地方，但他爸爸又生病了，那么远的学校读书他实在放心不下，于是他决定背着爸爸去上学，这一路特别辛苦，这一部电影就没有了。

我最感动的是，那个小男孩背着他爸爸去上学的那一小节，这可以说是这个小男孩是一个懂事，也很孝顺的好孩子。我觉得我平时对爸爸妈妈的态度不太好，还在家里什么都惹您生气，我在这里对您说声：“对不起。”爸爸妈妈我会继续努力学习每一年都会用很好的成绩报答您的。

《百万英镑》主要讲的是两兄弟打了一个“如果一个穷人得到百万英镑会怎样做”的赌。他们就给了一个贫穷而诚实的人一张一百万英镑的钞票。

人们对这个一夜暴富的人很惊讶，不断提高他的地位。他还有了一个美丽的妻子，过着幸福的生活。

我的感想是，过去的人们看不起穷人，觉得帮助穷人自己什么好处都没有，还对穷人很冷淡。可是一见到有钱人就对他很客气、热情。这种情况就表现出了过去的人们都是金钱至上，有钱的人就有地位，受人们尊重。可是没钱的人就没有地位，别人也看不起他们。我觉得这种情况是非常不好的，不是只有有钱的人能受到尊重，每个人都有权利得到别人的尊重。同时，帮助穷人也是快乐的事。当你尽自己的能力帮助了别人后，内心会有一种说不出的喜悦和开心。我觉得人们还是应该帮助穷人。另外，我还觉得不应该金钱至上，以貌取人。金钱虽然很重要，但并不是万能的!
