我想你一定不了解我的家乡——风景优美的海安吧!今天我就给你介绍介绍。

我们家乡的土特产五花八门，海安丝绸远近闻名，中洋豚美味可口、糯米陈酒醇美香甜……麻虾酱更是一绝，它是我们海安李堡独有的，是用一种非常小的麻虾制作而成，味道鲜美独特。尝上一口，保准你吃了还想吃，永远都忘不了它。我最喜欢用麻虾酱拌面吃，可香了!

我们这儿有许多景区，三塘十景、七星湖、东洲公园、韩国钧故居……其中数第一的还是江淮文化园。景区内风景优美，到处垂柳依依、碧水盈盈。一进大门，只见湖面波光粼粼，水中还有一座凉亭。忽然一阵大风刮来，新鲜的空气扑鼻而来，吸一口心旷神怡。来到了百鸟园，一进门，一条长廊出现在你的眼前，你会听见鸟儿们“叽叽喳喳”的声音，还会听见鸭子“嘎嘎”的叫声。也许，你运气好时，会看见一只开了屏的孔雀，正炫耀着它扇子似的那五彩缤纷的大尾巴;也许，你会发现一个胆小的小朋友，将手一伸一缩地给高大的鸵鸟喂草吃，生怕自己的手指被鸵鸟那又大又尖的嘴巴啄伤;也许，你还会看见一只优雅的天鹅，正用嘴巴梳理着自己那洁白如雪的羽毛。江淮文化园不仅美丽，还有着丰富的文化内涵，代表着海安的历史和文化特色。

我们这儿有许多习俗，如清明节要扫墓，端午节要包粽子，中秋节要吃月饼……我最喜欢春节，因为春节全家团圆，可热闹了。家家户户贴春联，人们还要准备许多好吃的。这是我期盼的节日。

你好！

今年暑假，我在常州恐龙园认识了你，你还带我去了很多好玩的地方。今年寒假，我想邀请你来我的家乡如皋做客。

如皋有许多民间工艺，如飞向世界的如皋丝毯，飘摇响绝的如皋板鹞，馥溢神州的百岁香袋，犷巧奂美的陈氏剪纸，美轮美奂的如皋刺绣。

如皋有许多土特产，如源自白蒲、吸引众多游客的白蒲茶干，还有“如皋的萝卜赛雪梨”。如皋最闻名的算是董糖了，系明末如皋爱国名士冒辟疆的爱妾董小宛精心创制，故称"董糖"。其特色是入口易化，酥松香甜，食之口齿留香，回味久长，营养丰富，老少咸宜，300余年来誉满大江南北，现已列入中国名食大全。

如皋的桂花树个性多。每逢中秋节前后，是桂花开得最旺盛的时候。不说香飘十里，至少方圆几里没有不沉浸在桂花香中。

如皋还具有深厚的文化底蕴。那里有错落有致的水绘园，风格独特的定慧寺，特色鲜明的石合泰民居。那里名人辈出，有明末“四大才子”冒辟疆，中国文化史上杰出的文化巨人李渔，中科院院士胡济民、闵乃本、马瑾、韩德馨、杨裕生等。

你明白吗？我们如皋的安定小学、安定初中、安定巷、安定广场……这一个个耳熟能详的如皋校名、地名，都源于北宋初期著名的教育家、哲学家、音乐家、军事家胡瑗。他生于如皋宁海乡胡家庄，祖籍山西安定堡，人们称他叫“安定先生”。安定先生从小爱读书，勤奋努力，是“分科教学法”的创始人。

如皋之所以称“长寿之乡”，是因为那里的寿星多，活到一百多岁的老人有一百五十多个。那里环境好，空气清新。那里的长寿食品还远销海外呢！凡是来如皋做客的人，临走时都会得到一大包长寿食品。“如皋如歌，常来长寿”。听了我的介绍，你务必想来我的家乡如皋吧。

Dear Sir,

I understand your well-respected college offers a number of places to

overseas students every year, and I am writing to enquire about the application

procedure.

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been

studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of

Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and

credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are

History, Economics and English Literature. In addition to these subjects, "Use

of English" is also a compulsory subject because a pass in English is a minimum

requirement for admission to most faculties of the University of Hong Kong.

Apart from academic work, I have been actively involved in extra-curricular

activities. I am Chairman of the English Club and I have represented my school

in many inter-school contests.

On the advice of my friends, I have decided to further my studies in

England because I wish to widen my horizons and benefit from the scholarly

heritage of your country.

the 2006/7 academic year before I sit the Advanced-level Examinations in

England.

也许我并没有资格来说什么，更没有资格去说什么，但我仅仅只是想说说个人的看法。在当今这个知识经济世界里，你要有足够的知识，去武装自己。也许，有人认为我幼稚，会说，有知识有何用处，没有钱，没有权，没有人脉关系，不懂人情世故，还不是一介书生，一无是处。有的人，没上学，不也在社会上混的风生水起，有声有色。是的，有这样的人，我不否认，但我只是想说一下，我们，上了学的我们。有的同学当年高考不如意，选择了回校复读，有的同学，当年也就考入了大学，现在有的毕业了，有的还在读书。我们都有一个不甘于现状的心，都有个自认为不平凡的梦。我们在大学里学习，在大学里寻梦，在大学的路上用我们自己的方式赶路。现在有的出来了，有的还在路上，我们是不是该回忆下我们的大学生活，有多少人把自己的专业学好了，有多少人学以致用了，我们大多数都没做到，因为我

对了，听说现在图书馆要建成了，就在教学楼的最顶层。等建成了我一定要去看看，就是路程太远了，你那里应该近点吧?

听说你的妈妈也玩电脑游戏，我建议你劝劝她，让她不再打游戏了，玩游戏不好，容易耽误她的工作。你也少玩好一些，最好不玩了。

climate is comfortable. There are many skyscrapers in Guangzhou, especially in

the downtown. We visited to many tourist attractions. They are all worth

visiting. I hope you can visit there personally one day. You must like it.

You know, I had planned this holiday for several years. A t last, my dream

came true. You could imagine how excited I was. My mind was completely occupied

with the holiday. I forgot to collect my laundry. I dont know if you can help

me collect my laundry. I sent the laundry to the Johns. It is the one down the

corner on St. Peters Street. You cant miss it, because the house is painted

green-a big green house. I have got two pairs of trousers, three shirts, one

T-shirt and a blanket. Call a taxi to send you home. I will pay you back when I

am home.

My first stop is London. It is raining. The streets are very clean. How I

wish I could have the chance to see the famous London fog. But someone told me

that was already the history. One can only read things like that about London in

books.
