Cars and Air Pollution

Too many cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, cars are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big cities. All the time, they are pumping huge amounts of waste gases into the atmosphere. These gases are very harmful, causing disease and even death.

One possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels. In Shanghai, some of the public buses begin to run on natural gas, which does not give off as much carbon dioxide as the petrol. But it may take decades for the new models of clean cars completely replace the traditional ones. Another solution is to develop modern public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. Since the summer holiday comes, I have a lot of freeTime, as I stay at

willing to accept her idea, because I want to earn money by myself. I find a job

as waiter, I have to work early in the morning, people need to have their

breakfast, I serve them. On the job, I earn little money, but I have worked so

The Hero in My Heart

As we know， most peoplehave heroes in their hearts. For me, Dr Norman Bethune is the hero in my heart.He was a great doctor from Canada.

Dr Bethune was good at performing operations.And taking photos was his hobby. In 1938， he came toChina. He opened hospitals and invented medical tools. He worked so hard thathe saved thousands of Chinese people. He didn’t stop totake care of his own injured hand and died.

I am deeply moved by his stories. So I’ll work hard today and do my best to helpothers.

The term, friend, covers a wide range of meanings. It can be a nodding
