October 1st is the national day of our country, which is a public holiday

for the whole country. It’s an important day that marks the beginning of PRC. On

that day, there are plenty of celebrations holding throughout the country, from

the central government to the general people. And public places, including big

holiday means the golden week as well, which is a short holiday that all people

expect to. With the improvement of living standards, people have more money and

April 12 is memorable because our clahad a meaningful experience on that day. In the morning, we bicycled to the suburbs to plant trees, talking and laughing all the way. Upon arrival, we began to work immediately. Some were digging holes. Some were carrying and planting young trees. Others were watering . After getting the work done, we put up a board reminding people to protect the trees. Before leaving we took some photos to record our green action. On March 8th, 1975, the United Nation started to celebrate the

International Women’s Day. In China, the women’s day also called “March 8th”day.

Why we celebrate women’s day? There is a long story.

On March 8th, 1909, the Women’s Union of Chicago demonstrated against the

inequality between men and women. They demanded that they should have the same

payments, the same working hours as men had, and they should have the rights to

vote. They even put forward a slogan: Bread and Rose, which stood for equal

The Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. People usually
