我们从小学一年级就开始自学国学科学知识了，有《论语》、《弟子规》、《百家姓》、《三字经》、《礼记》等等，这也是我们学校一道耀眼的风景线。

在寒假里，我们学校拒绝我们在网上参与一次中小学生国学科学知识网络大赛，我们都实在很奇怪，我又实在信心满满的。返回家里，我关上了电脑，转入了网站，登记了一个用户名，便开始匆匆答题了，一看见答卷，傻眼了：这种题目很多我以前显然都没有认识过，现在的我，不能用一个字来形容这些题目：无以！

我希望地在脑子中找寻答案，也希望地吧题目中的意思解读出来，可是，终究还是有很多答不上来，最终的成绩很真是：35.5分，我顿时实在中国的国学科学知识，觉得是太辽阔，太深奥了！

孔子、孟子、庄子等先贤留下了我们宝贵的精神财富，并影响我们生活方式、不道德标准、制度建设、伦理纲常。有许多国学科学知识对我们一生都有许多协助：它教导我们如何懂科学知识、如何孝顺长辈、如何为人受信、如何忠于国家等等。

“书到用时方恨少”，通过这次国学大赛，我深深感悟到：自学国学科学知识，更应当去领悟它的含义，使它能协助我健康成长。

4月16日上午，CCTV“希望之星”英语风采大赛湘潭赛区复赛在我们东方红学校举行。

我去的时候比赛已经开始了，只见向思璐站在上面紧张地表演着，带动着我也紧张了起来。我一看序号，呀！马上就到我了，于是我赶到座位上，其他同学都全神贯注地看着表演者，我也自作镇定的等待着。

啊，马上就到我了，我再也掩饰不住那紧张的情绪，心在不停“咚咚，咚咚”地跳着。轮到我上场了，我怀着激动而忐忑不安的心情走上了讲台。我首先敬了个礼，做了自我介绍，然后开始有声有色的表演我的节目，英语小故事《AGOODBOY》。我平复一下自己的情绪，然后流利地讲着我的故事，边讲还边做动作，仿佛进入了天真的情境。评委老师专注地听着我的故事，不时用笔记一下什么，我看到一位评委老师的眼睛里露出了一点笑意，我如释重负。我的表演结束了，回答完老师的问题后，敬了个礼，便退场了。

开幕式之后，随着裁判员一声令下，比赛开始了！我们走入指定的座位，开始编程了。这一个又一个的程序，仿佛是一排铁链，一环扣一环，只要有一个错误，后面就断了。凭着扎实的基本功，我优哉游哉地完成了前面部分的编程。心想：机器人大赛不过如此！

第一轮的测验开始了，我的机器人却一直在打圈子，半步都没挪开，像是一个输在起跑线上的运动员那样，我的心凉了半截。队友们也埋怨我不认真。我咬了咬牙，垂头丧气地回到座位上。

第二次的编程开始了，我仔细地观察自己的程序，生怕哪一个程序又出错。检查到机器人时，我用力捶着自己的腿，原来我把光电线的三条连接线插反了，还有就差那一条马达线就成功了！我懊悔不已，为什么没有早点发现呢？接下去一定得认真谨慎。

第二轮的比赛开始了，我的机器人顺利地到达了接力区，队友也走得格外的惊险，我们在心中暗暗喊加油！终于，我们进入了指定区，成功了！我激动地抱着我的机器人，把它放入了编号区。

从此，我和机器人结下了深厚的感情。机器人也成为了我生活中不可缺少的好朋友。

Before you hit the roads to achieve a goal, have you ever given any thought to your motivation or what are you expecting to get as a rewardAttitudes towards this question vary from person to person. Some people claim that wealth and fame is the best motivation and reward, others believe that the fulfillment of a job well done is its own reward. In my opinion, the later point holds more water. In the end, it is the joy in the journey that truly matters.

Doing the work with the attempt to be rich or famous will bring an unfortunate outcome and even will lead us to a dangerous situation. Gradually, we will consider wealth and fame as the most important things in our lives instead of the care of our parents, or our ‘Friends-time’. Besides, this kind of thought might have bad effects on our work, since we only care about how much money we earn or how to get as many glories as we can, we may tend to forget the original significance of doing the job and can’t concentrate our minds on doing the job well. Thus our work efficiency will be reduced and it is unlikely that we can make a great development in our own career. What’s worse, once we fail to get or lose all those glories or wealth, we may feel rather depressed, empty and even sink into

a desperate situation.

However, if we change our train of thought and attach more importance to the sense of happiness and fulfillment by accomplishing some simple things, our life will become more wonderful. We won’t get tired of our work and we will be courageous enough to overcome all the

obstacle on our road and enjoy the abundant happiness that the job brings to us. Every workday is like a journey full of surprise and delight. Besides, without the burden of wealth or fame, we can immerge ourselves into the job and there is a good chance that we can achieve a lot. In this case, although we don’t aim for wealth and fame, wealth and fame will follow naturally. If not, we will not feel discouraged, as we firmly believe that the happiness and fulfillment during the journey is the best reward for our work.

I have found that the more time I spend alone, the more comfortable I become in my own skin because I can truly get to know myself. This provides me with more patience to accept myself as I am, wherever I am in my journey, on a daily basis.

我发现独处的时间越长，我越觉得舒服、放松和自信，因为这样我可以认识真正的自己。这让我每天都有更多的耐心来接受自己，接受自己在生活旅途中的位置。

This lesson was something I learned after spending a summer alone in Italy with a family friend.

这堂人生课是我独自一人在意大利学到的，当时我在一位世交朋友家里度过了一个夏天。

I embarked on the journey, turning off my phone for the first time, well, probably ever. I would be jetting all over America then landing in a country with a family basically unknown to me.

At 19 years old, it seemed much more important to capture photos to upload to social media. The Internet was a crutch for me to not feel so alone in an unknown territory. As brave as I was to be completely alone in my adventure, I had a thousand people to “connect” with on my lonely nights!

Spending small moments of time alone—sans phone, tablet, laptop, TV, and radio—allows one to really tune in. We need to ask ourselves things like: What is my body telling me today? How do I feel today?

到我了，我淡定的来到比赛教室，微笑着对评委去了一个躬，开始弹了起来。我双手灵活地在键盘上飞扬起来，弹着弹着，“糟了，我弹错了，而且还有个音没有对齐，这下可没有好下场了。”我心想。但我又马上进行调整，还是从容、镇定地把后面的曲子弹完。

五个人全部弹完了，评委让我们站成一横排，来进行点评。评委是这样点评我的：“你左手的旋律有个地方不对，回家再看谱子进行练习。”

虽然，我这次没有达到理想的成绩，但是我还是会努力的，加油！

My name is Liyuanyuan. Im a boy and I am 12 yeas old, there are 4 people in my family. My father is a Chemistry teacher. He teaches chemistry in Zhengxin senior high school. My mother is a Chinese teacher. She teaches Chinese in the university. I have an elder brother; he is a junior middle school student and is preparing for the entrance exam. Im tall and I have a pair of big eyes. Now, I am in Grade 5, my study is not very good, but I like English, so my English is better than others. I like singing, drawing, playing basketball.

I like to read English story books in my free time. Sometimes I surf the Internet and download the English study materials. Because it also enlarges my vocabulary words. I think one day I can master English. Thank you.

Dream

God puts dreams in our hearts. So, we must dream. We lose our sorrows and heartaches in dreams. And we live our fantasies in dreams. Some dreams are aborted while some come true.

Most mornings, Id sit by the Lake in my neighborhood just to witness the awesomeness of God; to be marveled at what Mother Nature is about to unfold... to shower us with her magnificence. The squirrels too gather by the edge of the Lake. The birds float effortlessly, circling the Lake in a beautiful ballet. The gators stand in awe. Yes, the gators! The leaves on the trees would suddenly stop their slow dance. Just like me, they are patiently awaiting for the grand entrance of the sun. The moon must go. Yes, the moon must go... to make room for the sun to rise. The sound of the gentle breeze is soothing, almost musical. I am filled with joy. I cannot describe the feeling of this awesomeness. Youd have to experience it to understand the feeling and joy of it. I know I am about to witness an amazing grace. So... I am silent. My spirit is at peace. The stage has been set. Behind those clouds, the sun awaits... waiting for the heavenly command. The ritual is in full bloom. Then I see a slice of sunlight, wafting through the clouds. Suddenly, the entire horizon is brightened, and the sun finally takes the center stage. Right there, I am still... humbled... to listen to God speak into my soul. When Hes done, then, I share with Him all that my heart desires.
