My Views on Examinations

Since school comes into being， the test standard has been used to appraise performance of students。 So far it is still being used， which may suggest that actually there are some advantages in it。 However， it is also highly possible that the test standard is a not ideal way to find out what students have learned and what they havent。 Most school is still using it just because there is no better method to replace it。

In my opinion， the following three points are the critical flaws in the test standard。

One of the most harmful effects on the test method is that it will force us to study just for passing tests， not for acquiring knowledge especially in China。 Obviously the final object of education is XXX us intellective by learning more knowledge。 While the test is only a way to examine the level of students studies， it has been deteriorated to a sifter deciding the fate of students。 Why can it be called a terrible sifter？ Now in the tests， which decide who can enter a higher school， thousands of poor students， who want a splendid future， must prepare for the tests by finishing a great deal of practices。 Those practice tests are heavy-laden to them。 So in this case， how can they be expected to study to obtain knowledge？ To them that are enough if they can reach the level which tests need。 In the end what our nation will get， genuine persons with ability or just test robots？

Secondly， tests will bring the examinees great pressure， which can affect their lives。 A typical example of this is that most young students have worn glasses even though some of them are still children。 For preparing for tests， they must spend a lot of time on doing their homework so that their eyesight becomes worse and worse。 And the more time they spend on those， the less time they have for playing and relaxing。 Consequently， there is a bad influence on their health。

Thirdly， in fact， test system itself can not veraciously estimate who is better than others because there are many factors impacting the results of test。 For instance， someone cheated in test so that his score would be higher than others。 Or someone who was too nervous to perform well fell in the test。

Only in spare time and no pressure of tests existent， students can study simply for the fun， for obtaining knowledge and for the things that they are really interested in。 But now the test system is the only way to select which one is better， who can reach better school and who can get good job。 Then what we can do is to improve the test system or hope that something better will be invented and replace the test system。

最近，我观看了一部传奇书籍——《郑成功》。故事发生在明清时期，他是明清之际着名的民族英雄。他在民族起义成功的巨大背景下，号领将士数万人，勇登台湾岛，赶走荷兰侵略军，成功收复领土台湾!

公元1646年，郑成功的父亲认为明朝气数已尽，只身向清朝投降。随后，清朝政府便横扫郑家，掠夺家产。郑母切腹自尽。从此，郑成功背上了“家恨国仇”。于1647年，郑成功在列屿起兵，攻打腐败的清朝政府。随后的数十年，郑成功取得多次胜利，大败清朝政府!

在这里我看到了当时社会的无理和软弱，放弃攻打外国军队，却来此处欺负中国同胞。在这种社会背景下，郑成功顽强拼搏，打下了属于自己的天地!

1661年，康熙皇帝即位，他成功断绝了郑军的粮食后路，开挖郑坟，移驻投诚官兵，分垦荒地。由于清政府的新策略，郑成功和他的军队断绝了经济来源，面临着严重的财政危机。不得不转战，准备以葡萄牙、西班牙、荷兰所分割的台湾岛为根据地，组织大批的进攻。

郑成功亲自率领2.5万大军，战船数百所，自金门料罗湾出发，经澎湖，出敌不意地在鹿耳门及禾寮港登陆。先以优势兵力夺取荷军防守薄弱的赤嵌城，继又对防御坚固的首府台湾城长期围困。经过九个月的苦战，在早年由其父协助渡海的汉人移民的支持下于1662年打败荷兰人，迫使殖民总督揆一于同年十二月十三日签字投降，撤离台湾。

这时，郑成功的台湾收复可谓圆满结束。但是这时我想，为什么当时清朝政府无力攻台，而在断绝郑军粮草后由郑成功大举攻下台湾?这显然表现出了当时政府的腐败。清朝政府在历史上可谓丢尽了中国人的脸。任外国人掠夺厮杀却无动于衷，特别是慈禧太后，一再讨好外国人，最后成了中国人百年唾弃的对象。

而郑成功，虽然当时受环境所逼，但他也有浓重的爱国之心，不甘祖国就此堕落，义无反顾的大起郑军，攻破台湾，为祖国守住了一片土地。虽然台湾现在还没有完全回归祖国，但不可否认郑成功当时的壮举!

看完此片，我也为郑成功聪明的作战策略所叹服。俗话说：“知己知彼，百战不殆”。郑成功成功的掌握了当时敌军的习性，很好地运用了各方面的信息，打败了荷兰军队。他们智渡危险的海礁，分兵清楚、巧妙，当然在敌军的枪支下不畏艰险，即使武器落后，一样大败敌军，取得了最终的胜利!

Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of

the Chinese new year vary widely. People will pour out their money to buy

presents, decoration, material, food, and clothing. It is also the tradition

hopes to make way for good incoming luck. Windows and doors will be decorated

with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of “happiness”,

“wealth”, and “longevity”. On the Eve of Chinese New Year, supper is a feast

with families. Food will include such items as pigs, ducks, chicken and sweet

delicacies. The family will end the night with firecrackers. Early the next

morning, children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy

new year, and receive money in red paper envelopes. The Chinese New Year

tradition is a great way to reconcile forgetting all grudges, and sincerely wish

peace and happiness for everyone.

这次语文考试，我原以为我可以考到95分以上。周四，发语文试卷的时候，我洋洋自得的想我肯定能考到高分。但是，拿到语文试卷的时候，我一下子“僵”住了，卷头触目惊心的红字“93.5”宛如一道晴天霹雳把我震得呆坐在椅子上，那鲜红的数字仿佛像一记重重的耳光，把我打得晕头转向。世界上什么药都有，可惜没有后悔药，现在能做的就是反思。

犯了很多不该犯得错误。看拼音写词语，我居然把“覆盖”写成“附盖”，看到诸如此类的错误，我恨不得给自己一个耳光。其次，让我没想到的是我的作文也扣了2分，这次作文的题目是“一个我最喜欢的课间游戏”，我把大量的笔墨放在游戏的介绍上，而只字未提自己如何去玩，余老师点评的很深刻“虽然把游戏介绍的很清楚，但无法让别人知道游戏有多有趣”，整个作文缺乏生动性，让看得人觉得很乏味。究其原因是审题不清，提笔过于急躁。哎，世上没有后悔药啊!

针对这次考试的失误，我觉得利用寒假好好练下字，多多阅读提高写作技巧。激流勇进，越是困境，我越努力，希望这次教训能使我发愤图强。

Freedom for many children is the coming day when they could improve myself

in their own way to use my 24 hours. They can study language by watching film

instead of working on boring grammar and multiple choices. Boys and girls can

have enough time to do sports to keep health not going on a diet as a result of

一学期过得真快，转眼间又到期末了，明天就是期末考试了我的目标是语数双科考97左右吧，但是最高的目标还是满分咯!我对我的语文成绩有信心些，因为我的语文成绩一向都比较好，和数学对比数学是要差点，因为我上学期语文考了99。5分(就差0。5!呜呜呜……)所以我现在给自己的目标定得比较高。

在我的四下时光里，有一件十分令人着急的事——等待期末统测的分数。这令我焦急不安；可又转念一想，考试结束，假期开始，我也该好好休息一下了。

在闲暇时，我常常向父母问起考试的分数，可回答往往是：不知道；听老师说还没有出来……这几天中，我只能带着好多“小问号”上了床。

I’m Li Hua.

I’m Li Hua. I go to school on foot. I have several reasons for that.

First, my home is not very far from my school, it is just about two kilometers away from school. It takes me about 20 minutes to get there. Second, walking to school is a kind of exercise. 你是神吗?如果你说不是，那么恭喜，你肯定有缺陷，是什么我不知道罢了。如果你说是，那么还是有缺陷，因为我知道你不是，而且你已经告诉了我你的一部分缺陷--不够老实甚至是对客观事物缺乏辨认能力。凡人皆有缺陷。

看待缺陷时我们无非两种态度，坦然面对或悲观回避。究竟哪种态度更好呢?

贝多芬晚年丧失听觉。这对于一个音乐家来说无异于灭顶之灾。贝多芬面对这个对他而言严重不过的缺陷，依旧没有放弃信念，凭着自己惊人的乐感谱写出了又一不朽之作，《命运交响曲》。

由上二者不难观之--坦然面对缺陷显然优于悲观回避。

面对缺陷也不是那么简单地面对，方法有时也很重要。面对客观缺陷，该不过来也只能硬扛着，可对于主观缺陷呢?也不能简单地一改了之，其实一些对于一些缺陷加以改造、转化，有时还能变成优点。

周处除三害正是他敢于直面缺陷的结果。但这个故事还没完。他除三害后入朝为官，凭着自己的赤胆忠心，直言不讳深的器重。但正因为如此，得住了一批达官贵人。一次皇帝打仗将周处置于梁王司马彤麾下。梁王派周处到一险境且不给予支援，周处明白这是因为自己曾经得罪过梁王之故，但毅然坚守到底，最终战死沙场。周处的直言不讳源自于他的性格，他原来的盛气凌人只是这种性格的另一种表现罢了。随着他除三害，已转化为直言不讳这么个优点。同样，他战死沙场所表现出的铮铮铁骨也是从他以往的好斗凶狠演变过来的。

哲学上讲“对于不利于己的客观事物，不能改变它就改变对它的态度”。这句话说得好。引用到本文正相符。是啊!有缺陷--面对它!怎么面对呢?这可要看你了，有时候废也可变宝。

What is honesty? Honesty means speaking the truth and being fair and

upright in act.Considered a virtue,it is admired in every country and every

culture.So,Is it necessary to be honest all the time .

However,there are people who try to get benefits by dishonest means.

For example,some students copy the exercises done by others or cheat in

examinations in order to get good marks. The same thing may be said of a

merchant who tries to get rich by deceving customers. Those people may succeed

for a time,but sooner or later,they will be caught.

How can cheating on exams be prevented? The measures may vary from case to

case.But I think,the students must first be well informes of the negative effect

on the learning atmosphere of the university and the studentscharacter. Then

the students who were caught in the act of cheating can be criticizedpublicly,

punished or even expelled from the university.

数学考了98分，虽然我没有拿到卷子，不知道错在什么地方，但我每到考试的时候总因紧张而很着急，为此，我想出了几个办法。1.解答题时，不要急于下笔，要先在草稿纸上列出这道题的主要步骤，然后按照步骤一步步做下来，不忽略每一个细节，尽量把每一道题都答得完整;2.平时多做一些不同类型的题，这样就会对大多数题型熟悉，拿到试卷心中就有把握;3.适当做一些计算方面的练习，让自己不在计算方面失分。我想如果我能做到我以上提到的这几点，我一定能把考试中的失误降到最低。因此，我一定会尽力做到以上几点的。

妈妈鼓励我说，一次考试考的好与不好都没有关系，只要你能找出错的原因，克服不良习惯，以后加倍努力，学习成绩就能保持在前列。经过反思，使我知道了学习不能松劲，只要一松劲，学习成绩就会一落千丈。

To swim the English Channel takes at least nine hours. Its hard work and it makes you short of breath. To fly over the channel takes only twenty minutes as long as youre not held up at the airport, but its an expensive way to travel. You can travel by hovercraft if you dont mind the noise and that takes forty minutes. Otherwise, you can go by boat, if you remember sea-sickness pills. All these means of transport have their problems, and the weary traveler often dreams of being able to drive to France in his own car. Not possible, you say. Well, wait a minute people are once again considering the idea of a Channel tunnel or bridge. This time , the great London Council is looking into the possibility of building a channel link straight to London. A bridge would cost far more a tunnel, but you would be able to go by rail or by car on a bridge, whereas a tunnel would provide a rail link only.

Why is this idea being discussed again? Is Britain realizing the need for links with Europe as a result of joining EEC? Well, perhaps. The main reason , though, is that a tunnel or bridge would reach the twenty square kilometers of Londons discussed stimulate trade and revitalise the port, and would ,make London a main trading center in Europe. With a link over the channel, you could buy your fish and chips in England and be able to eat them in France while they are still warm!
