I had only completed elementary school up to that point. I then went back to senior high school after four months of tutoring in different subjects. Being at school for the first time after so many years was somewhat embarrassing because my classmates were at least two or three years younger than I. I concluded that my age did not matter. The important thing was getting into college.

I took the College Entrance Exams. Although my math exam result was only one point below the required score. I never gave up hope. The following year, I took it again and received the highest score in my city. Achieving such an amazing result gave me encouragement and courage necessary to continue my education to the next step.

I am now in my second year of college and know that it is never too late to learn. My passion for studying and improving myself will never come to a halt as long as I continue to live.

In AD 959 it became the capital of the Southern Tang dynasty. At the end of the Mongol period it was a battleground between the founder of the Ming dynasty and local warlords. My hometown is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town.Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there.The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another.The life of the people is greatly improved.I love my hometown. 夏天，是一个炎热的季节，于是，我和哥哥，拿着游泳圈(其实就是废旧的轮胎)到河提去游泳，河提的水非常清，清的可以看见水底的沙石，我们尽情的玩耍，直到日落西山。回到家里，一边吃冰激凌，一边看电视，这时风扇一开，与空调不分上下。

这就是欢乐的夏季。

秋天，是一个丰收的季节，勤劳的人们，开始劳动起来了。而我呢，也正想找点事情做，就听见姥姥大声的叫：“龙龙，走，我们去田里收菜吧!”我高兴地拿起了篮子和姥姥来到了菜园。只见菜园里五颜六色，有尖尖的辣椒，黄灿灿的大南瓜，像辫子一样长的豆角.....我开心的拿着篮子，开始收菜了。

这就是收获的季节。

冬天，下雪了，厚厚的积雪给庄稼盖上了一层白被子，地面上积起的一堆雪，孩子们就开始了打雪仗，堆雪人，开心极了。

这就是冰天雪地的冬天。

我的家乡，位于广州市花都区花东镇，那里有一条美丽的河，叫流溪河。

流溪河的河水很清，清得能看见河底的小石头，河里还有很多很多的小鱼，每天，小鱼都会在河里游来游去，快乐极了。树木茂盛，松树像战士一样站在小河的旁边，保护着流溪河。一朵朵小花五彩缤纷，把它们种在流溪河上更合适不过了。每天，很多开心的小朋友在玩耍、嬉戏。一片片稻田更美丽，远远看去，就像一片片金色的海洋。

在溪河附近，有一个小公园。公园里种着各种各样的花，有菊花、有玫瑰花、还有月季花……那里的树木也很多，秋天的时候，落叶像给公园铺上了一张金黄的地毯，美丽极了!

怎么样，我的家乡很美吧!

江水几弯绕，流过我家门，这就是生我养我的地方——江津。江津是一个美丽的地方，作为帅乡的儿女，我们应该大声地说：“江津是个好地方!”

江津风景优美。江津前面是水，后面是山，在蓝天白云下，一片青山绿水，到处是高楼矗立，条条是宽阔的柏油路。滨江路更是江津的一道亮丽风景线。长长的走廊，干净的凉亭，一年四季还开着许多美丽的鲜花，到处都飘着淡淡的清香，让休闲的人们心情格外舒畅。滨江路很长很长，据说它的长度比一辆火车还长几十倍呢!在滨江路的东段，有一个特大的广场，它就是赫赫有名的荣臻元帅广场。元帅的铜像每天屹立在东城，保护着帅乡的儿女。在广场的下面就是江津的音乐喷泉，每逢周五，周六，星期天。这里人山人海，四面八方的人全聚在这里，观看这美妙而神奇的喷泉，让你在不知不觉中随着音乐，在五彩缤纷的喷雾中如入仙境。在一片片尖叫声中，凉凉的水雾清洒在你的脸上，这时你会恍然醒悟，喷泉也有电影。

在江津的东城，有一座长江第二大桥，它是目前重庆唯一一座汽车与轻轨共用的大桥。这不仅是江津的亮点，也是江津的杰作。江津的经济正在飞速的发展，它正在与重庆接轨，不再是以前那小小的城市了!

江津的物产也很丰富。有江津米花糖，江津芝麻杆，山城啤酒，油溪花生，先锋花椒，江津大红袍桔等。其中，我最喜欢吃大红袍桔。因为它，酸酸甜甜的。轻轻地咬一口，果汁就流出来了，果肉颗颗饱满，好吃极了!
