Yuandan is the first day of the lunar calendar. It is the day when the earth has circled the sun for one round and is beginning another circling. 2. There is an apparent difference in the custom of food taking on Yuandan between the Chinese in the northern and southern regions. The northern Chinese has the habit of taking jiao zi(dumpling made of flour with vegetable and meat wrapped inside). Some people may put a sweet or a coin inside jiao zi, hoping to have a sweet year after tasting the sweet and a wealthy year after tasting the coin. on the other hand, the southern Chinese have the taboo for killing on Yuandan. Therefore, they do not take meat in tee morning of Yuandan, so as to avoid bloodshed or mutual slaughter. In order to evade misfortune, they have the first meal of this day without meat. Instead, they take vegetarian food for the sake of virtue.

3. What is special during the New Year is that parents or elders will distribute red packets(ang pao or ya sui qian)to the children. People in the ancient times were more particular in giving away the red packets: the distribution took place on the eve of New Year so that the kids could suppress the past year and enter the New Year. Ya sui has the meaning of overcoming the unpredictable future. Representing the wishes for the healthy psychological growth of the children, ya sui qian symbolises the elders hope to see their children overcome all the unpredictable elements brought by the "year".

楚门是个普通人，普通得就像生活在我们身边。他有许多的欲望，又很容易满足。因此，他有时欣喜若狂，有时如丧考妣，大多的时候则彷徨郁闷，不知所措。这时，天才的导演又有了用武之地，他不断地制造新的刺激，使他的长剧变得波澜起伏，吊人胃口。他在楚门快乐的时候便给他制造些麻烦，在其沮丧的时候，则不失时机地给其开启一线生机。他让金发女郎如言情小说般突然出现在楚门的视线中，开启他爱欲的阀门，又让她突然离去，使其心灵坠入无底的深渊;他让楚门从未谋面的“已故父亲”突然现身，夸张滑稽的相认场面令其热泪盈眶，同时也赚取了电视观众的热泪;他又让楚门的知心朋友在其情绪恶劣的时候去关怀他、开导他，令其感受到这“荒漠中的甘泉”而重生信心，虽然那位朋友只是一个演员，而且正背着大段台词……

很佩服电影中那位才华横溢、不可一世的天才导演，他让人想到了上帝，同时看到那个软弱、疲惫、徨惑的楚门被一次次的虚伪所玩弄，还是对生活和前途充满了乐观时，我的内心就一阵阵地酸楚，我不忍面对——不忍面对一个真实的“我们”!

“人生如戏，戏如人生”，哲人如此感叹，但人生舞台上的演员——我们，是不是时刻都有一种演戏的自觉呢?还是在上帝的欺瞒和安排下，忘我地做着无意义的事呢?快乐，不

足以使我们热爱这个世界;挫折，不足以使我们抛弃这个世界。上帝就像那个天才的导演一样，掌握着很好的度，他知道该在何时给我们当头一棒，何时又给我们烧起暖暖的火炉，他使我们在痛苦中保持希望，在希望中忍受痛苦，因为痛苦制造着剧情的波澜，也制造着收视率，希望则是赏给我们的出场费，使我们不至于中途罢演。

电影的末尾，楚门是觉悟了的，他对着摄影机，真的向“上帝”罢演了。天才的导演恐慌了，他将失去观众，他竭力挽留楚门，告诉他离开了导演控制的世界是很危险的，但楚门还是走出了那扇门，走向那个黑漆漆的未知世界，他说不管那个世界中等待他的是什么，他都不在乎。佛家有“顿悟”一说，并说人的本性自足圆满，是人世的尘埃覆盖了它，使它迷失。看来楚门是顿悟了，他要找回那个失去的自我，那个自足圆满、自由自在的本性。

《金刚经》语：“凡所有相，皆是虚妄，若见诸相非相，则见如来。”戏装迟早要褪去，布景也迟早要撤下，演戏的时候则生龙活虎地演一场，只是别忘了过过看戏的瘾，随时让另一个“我”——本我，走下舞台，在观众席上，呷一口茶，看看戏台上的“我”和“他们”，鼓几下掌，流几滴泪，明白了这一点，便接近顿悟了。其实，我们跨不跨出那扇门又有什么关系?因为我们的心灵已经跨了出去。

“不到长城非好汉，到了长城腿打颤。”长城一定又高又大吧，一个暑假，我们一家人到北京八达岭长城游览。

我们漫步在长城上。长城是古代重要的军事防御工程，城墙一边高一低，高的一边是防御敌人的，低的这边朝着自己国家，低的这边不修高，我想一是节约材料，二是不用自己人防自己人吧。

继续往上走，一座烽火台屹立在眼前，并没有因久经风雨而损坏。看见烽火台，我仿佛就看见了古时候的士兵，精神抖擞地立在长城上，要报效国家。烽火台里面是清凉的，就算是挤满了人也一样。可外面骄阳似火、暑气逼人，也不知道是为什么。

越往上走，每一步台阶也越高，有的到了膝盖。道路也还是挺宽，大概能过四五匹马了。汗水也是如瀑布般流着，这下“大自然牌空调”就起到了巨大的作用。在城墙高的一边，有很多方形的洞，把头探出去，一股凉爽的风迎面而来，像空调一样舒适。这样给自己降温，盛过吃冰棍解暑。

吹完风往前走，不一会儿就来到了好汉坡，哈哈，我以后是好汉了，不过我并没有腿打颤嘛。往下鸟瞰，在绵连不断不断的青山上，连接天边的万里长城弯弯曲曲，像一只巨龙，蜿蜒盘旋，环绕在青山之上，前不见头，后不见尾，壮观极了。

看着眼前宏伟的景象，自然而然就想起了修建长城的人们，我开始脑补各种画面。长城不只是城墙，还同大量的城障、亭标等相结合，结构十分复杂。可当时的人们没有火车、吊车等大型工具，他们是如何修建的呢?他们靠着一双双手，一双双肩，把一块块石头垒起来，修建的人们有很多都死在了那里，但他们修建的长城从未倒塌。

长城，一听就知道它很长，很多人都喜欢去爬，不过大多数人都会累得要死。所以它到底有多长呢?古人为什么要活受罪把它建得这么长呢?

长城始建于2000多年前的春秋战国时期，秦朝统一中国后开始修建。汉明两代曾大规模修建长城，主要是用来抵抗外敌。长城总长度21196.18千米，根据不同时代防御对象，可分为南长城和北长城。

北长城：北方的游牧民族特别是匈奴逐渐强大起来，不断侵犯秦、赵、燕的北部边境，于是三国便先后在北部修长城以抵抗善于骑马射箭的匈奴。

南长城：南长城的作用与北长城不同，南长城的防御对象为其它诸侯国，修建南长城的主要有：楚、齐、魏、韩、中山国。

始建长城：秦始皇为了抵御北方匈奴来犯，开始大规模修建长城，动用了全国1/20的人力来修建长城。

长城结构：长城不止是一道单独的墙，它由城墙、敌楼、关城、墩堡、营城、卫所等所构成的防御系统。墙身平均高度为7.8米，有些地方高达14米。还有外檐墙和内檐墙。
