中国共产党自成立之日起，始终秉持“全心全意为人民服务”的宗旨，在与人民群众密切联系、共同战斗中诞生、发展、壮大、成熟起来，并在长期实践中形成了“一切为了群众，一切依靠群众，从群众中来，到群众中去，把党的正确主张变为群众的自觉行动”的群众路线。全心全意为人民服务，立党为公、执政为民，是我们党始终坚持的基本观点，也是我们党做好一切工作的出发点和归宿。在党的十九大报告中，习近平总书记重申人民是历史的创造者，是决定党和国家前途命运的根本力量，并将“坚持以人民为中心”作为新时代坚持和发展中国特色社会主义“十四条坚持”基本方略之一。

不忘初心、牢记使命，是贯彻党的十九大精神的重要举措。党的十九大是在全面建成小康社会决胜阶段、中国特色社会主义进入新时代的关键时期召开的一次十分重要的大会。党的十九大报告，高举旗帜、高瞻远瞩、继往开来，是我们党迈进新时代、开启新征程、谱写新篇章的政治宣言和行动指南。

不忘初心、牢记使命，是党保持永远年轻的重要法宝。党的十九大报告指出，“只有不忘初心、牢记使命、永远奋斗，才能让中国共产党永远年轻”。要让中国共产党永远年轻有活力，就要保持党的先进性、纯洁性、战斗性。

不忘初心，牢记使命，是党始终铭记历史的重要力量。一个伟大的民族必需铭记历史。唯有深刻铭记历史、正确看待历史，我们党才能带领广大人民群众完成新的任务、攻克新的挑战、取得新的成绩。

不忘初心，牢记使命，是党不断开创未来的重要基础。十九大报告指出，“经过长期努力，中国特色社会主义进入了新时代，这是中国发展新的历史方位”。中国特色社会主义进入新时代，中国社会主要矛盾已经转化为人民日益增长的美好生活需要和不平衡不充分的发展之间的矛盾。开展“不忘初心、牢记使命”主题教育，将在新时代的新矛盾新挑战新征程中，把“初心”和“使命”融入到发展的全过程，贯穿到各个环节，覆盖到各个方面，艰苦奋斗、攻坚克难，为实现中华民族伟大复兴的中国梦注入不竭动力。
