Thanksgiving originated from the United States, which is the forth Thursday of November, but in Canada its the second Monday of October. It started out as a holiday celebrating the aboriginals, but now it extended to be the celebration of others around you.

On that day, people would have a 2-day break, which they would meet up with family and friends and celebrate with joy and gratitude.

The delicious turkey is the main course at every Thanksgiving dinner.

一看到她那充满阳光气息的样子，你就会立刻想到她是那样活泼；一听到她清脆的声音，你就会感到她是那样的亲切；一看见她书桌上那行动人的文字，你又会觉得她是那样的好。四年级的一天下课后，我走到秀媚的座位正想找她，恰恰相恰好她去交作业了，我只好在她的座位上等一会儿。就在这时，我发现她的书桌上写着行文字，出于好奇心我就低下头看。真是想不到，那行整齐的文字竟是写着：我长大后一定要努力挣钱，带妹妹到美国去治病。这使我吃了一惊，眼睛瞪得大大的。

秀媚回来了，她见我在好的座位上，便马上走过来，笑着问我：“怎么了？”我指着她书桌上的那行文字，说：“你妹妹……？”顿时，秀媚弯弯的嘴沉了下来，皱起了眉头，低下头看着那行文字，我看到她这样，一时语塞了。她沉默了一会儿，抬起头，望着我认真地说：“我的妹妹没有我幸运。她一生下来就有病，还要做手术，现在她已经三岁了，还不能像平常人一样走路。”她拉着我来到窗前，看着窗外一年级的小朋友在你追我赶的，舒展了眉头。秀媚望着窗外的人，说：“他们多快乐呀！我一直有一个愿望，就是让妹妹能够在大地上靠自己的力量走路。我的妹妹很聪明，教她一样新知识，她一学就会，只是身体有缺陷。我知道美国的科技很先进，带妹妹到那儿治病会有希望的，虽然要很多钱，但我是会努力的！”最后那句话她说得那么坚定，立定了决心。从这以后，秀媚经常向我提起她那个可爱的妹妹，还让她的妹妹与我做朋友。

秀媚拥有一颗纯洁的心，一颗令人快乐的心，能与她做朋友我感到高兴，希望我们能做永远的朋友。
