雾霾是雾中悬浮着大量的烟、灰尘等微粒而形成的混浊现象。据环保部遥感卫星监测：1月29日中国范围内有130万平方公里的地区被雾霾笼罩，空气质量严重污染。

那雾霾天气是怎样来的呢？很多家庭都拥有小汽车，我们的出行更便捷了，但汽车的尾气排放污染空气；电厂、炼油厂、化工厂在我们的城市里"大显身手",但夜以继日地不断排放出煤烟和灰尘；绚丽的烟花爆竹让人目不暇接，但空气中烟雾腾腾，变得非常混浊，空气质量急剧下降，PM2.5、PM10指数直线上升，这些都是造成雾霾的主要原因，它们在带给我们快捷方便、赏心悦目的同时，也悄悄给我们带来了意想不到的后果。

早晨起来，一片雾蒙蒙的，我对妈妈说："今天的雾好大啊！"妈妈摇摇头："这不是雾，是雾霾。""雾霾？雾霾是什么？"我第一次听到这个词，所以很疑惑。妈妈让我自己查资料解

答疑问。

我打开电脑搜索答案。哦，我明白了：雾霾是雾和霾的组合词。因为空气质量的恶化，阴霾天气现象出现增多，危害加重。中国不少地区把阴霾天气现象并入雾一起作为灾害性天气预警预报。统称为"雾霾天气".

我继续查找资料了解雾霾形成的原因。有报道说："中国每天差不多要燃烧1000万吨的煤。""城市里的汽车过多，排放的尾气集中，拥堵又成倍增加油耗和尾气排放量。"哇，太可怕了！一天烧了那么多煤就相当于把一座煤山烧没了，而这些汽油燃烧量相当于有些国家一年的汽油消耗量呀！原来那些汽车、工厂排出的尾气、废气，还有过年过节燃放的烟花爆竹，及平时我们用的空调排出的热气等都是雾霾形成的原因啊！

这让我很是心疼我们的"地球妈妈".地球这个生命的摇篮是那样的和蔼可亲，它给我们创造了生存的世界，却还要饱尝着我们对它的伤害，我们多对不起它呀！面对伤痕累累的地球妈妈，我要呼吁我们的小朋友行动起来，从小事做起，绿色出行，节能减排，减少对环境的污染。

Cattle are one cause of the problem. In good years, famers increase the numbers of their cattle. Then one year, the rains fail to come. Too many cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, cars are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big cities. All the time, they are pumping huge amounts of waste gases into the atmosphere. These gases are very harmful, causing disease and even death.

One possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels.
