The mini knitted garments have helped save hundreds of flightless birds caught in oil spills providing protection from the elements and stopping them from ingesting poisonous pollution.

Knits for Nature a program run by The Penguin Foundation which conserves the little penguin population of Phillip Island 140km south-east of Melbourne has created up to 300 different designs over the years - and its all thanks to talented volunteers.

People love to know that they’re helping the penguins because they’re so cute and small and they waddle up the beach and they’re so feisty. But they need to be they live in a pretty tough sort of environment.’

The Mid-Autumn is a very important Chinese festival. It falls on the 15th day of August. A few days before the festival, everyone in the family will help to make the house clean and beautiful. Lanterns will be hung in front of the house. On the

evening there will be a big family dinner. People who work far away from their homes will try to come back for the union. After dinner, people will light the lanterns which are usually red and round. Children will play with their own toy lanterns happily. At night the moon is usually round and bright. People can enjoy the moon while eating moon-cakes which are the special food for this festival. They can look back on the past and look forward to the future together. It is said that there was a dragon in the sky. The dragon wanted to swallow up the moon. To protect the frighten the dragon away.

中秋节是中国一个很重要的节日，在八月十五号。在节日来临的前几天，家庭中的每一个人都帮着打扫房子，把房子装扮得漂漂亮亮的，灯笼挂在屋前。 晚上有一顿美餐，离家在外工作的人也要回来团圆。晚饭后，人们点亮灯笼，一般是红色的圆灯笼。孩子们会高高兴兴地玩他们的玩具灯笼。 晚上月亮又圆又大，人们在赏月的同时吃着中秋节特别的食品——月饼。人们在一起回顾过去，展望未来。据说天上有一条龙，它要把月亮吞下去。为了保护月亮，孩子们要弄出很大的响动把龙吓跑。

中秋是个美好的节日啊!

Spring Festival

My best festival is Spring Festival. It is in Janurary or February. It is the most important festival for the Chinese people. On that day everybody dresses up. First they extend greetings to their parents. Then each child will get money as a New Year gift, wrapped up in red paper.

People in northern China will eat jiaozi, or dumplings, for breakfast, the shape of the dumpling is like gold ingot from ancient China. So people eat them and wish for money and treasure.Burning fireworks was once the most typical custom on the Spring Festival. I like spring festival very much. Its my favourite holiday.

我最喜爱的节日是春节，它在一月或者二月。对于中国人来说这是最重要的节日。在那天，每个人都认真打扮，他们会像父母问好，然后每个孩子会得到红包作为新年礼物。

北方人喜欢早上吃饺子或者汤圆。饺子的形状像中国的元宝，他们吃饺子来期盼财源广进。燃放烟花也曾一度是春节的传统习俗。我非常喜欢春节，它是我最喜欢的节日。

Lantern Festival

Lantern Festival is a Chinas traditional festival. It is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month of the lunar year.

I,antern Festival is one of the biggest holidays in China. Several days before Lantern Festival, people begin to make lanterns. Lanterns are made in the shape of different animals, vegetables, fruits and many, other things. While making

lanterns people usually write riddles on lanterns. On the eve of Lantern Festival, all the lanterns are hung up.

On Lantern Festival people go outside to have a look at the lanterns and guess the riddles on the lanterns. Perhaps you call see some wonderful folk performances,Dragon Dance and Yangko. Everything is very interesting and everyone is very happy. Our life is rich and varied.

元宵节

元宵节是中国的一个传统节日。通常在阴历年的第一个月的第十五天庆祝。

In this the first day of the New Year, New Years day, mom and dad took me to visit Shanghai.

"Mom, when to go?" "You are not wearing it, quick!" Because I was too excited, mom is tired by me, I put on gloves, keys and her mom and dad went to the station. We get on the bus, in a short time, arrived at destination: Shanghai.

In Shanghai, we three went to the subway station, take the subway to xu jia hui, came to the xujiahui, mother is my father entered the Pacific department store, my father and I had to accompany my mother to see clothes, then mom said: "do you want to play? Lets play the ground floor. Good call." Soon my father and I just play video games, hungry mother is played, alas, no play. After we concentrate to Han Lin barbecue lunch, eat really good ah, have ox tongue, there are high-quality goods of streaky, have wings, and delicious ice drink. We ordered two sets ox tongue (my favorite) and boutique streaky. We eat a meal, you ready to go home, I unwilling to leave the restaurant, came to the station and got on the bus back to zhu computed.in.

Visit this New Years day is happy, I will always remember the joy of New Years day.

在这新年的第一天——元旦，爸爸妈妈带我去上海游玩。

“妈妈，什么时候走啊?”“你烦不烦啊，快了!”由于我太兴奋，妈妈都快被我烦死了，我和妈妈爸爸戴上手套、钥匙就前往车站。我们上了车，不一会儿，就到达了目的地：上海。

到了上海，我们三前往地铁站，乘坐地铁前往徐家汇，来到徐家汇，妈妈我爸爸就进入了太平洋百货，我和爸爸只好陪妈妈看衣服，这时妈妈说：“你们想玩啊?去底楼玩吧。好了打电话。”我和爸爸刚玩没多久电玩，妈妈就打过来说肚子饿了，唉，玩不成了。我们集中后就去韩林碳烤吃中饭，吃的可真丰盛啊：有牛舌，有精品五花肉，有中翅，还有可口的冰饮。我们点了两盘牛舌(我的最爱)和精品五花肉。我们大吃大喝一顿后，就准备回家了，我依依不舍的离开饭馆，来到车站，上车回到朱泾。

这次的元旦游玩真开心，我将永远记得这个快乐的元旦。
