As a chinese, I was really ashamed of having a little knowledge of dragon boat festival. Perhaps I was born in northern city, though my city is nearby sea, it has been built a U port which I can only see cargo ships and cant see the sweeping ocean. So I have never see the dragon boat contest since I was born. So the dragon boat festival is just a holiday for eating Zong Zi. My mother made Zong Zi when I was a child. 时间过得飞快，转眼间12天已经过去了。舍不得同老师分离;舍不得同朋友分离;舍不得离开美丽的中山大学;但是，舍不得也要舍得。每当想到快乐的夏令营时，我会觉得很开心，那里是我和朋友们第一次认识的地方，在那里，藏着我们多少欢声笑语……

忘不了这次欢乐的英语夏令营，这个夏令营的确很快乐!

高中生活的第一天

The First Day in High School

Today was the first day of my new life. I looked at my new books and checked everything for the new school year. I was excited as well as worried.

今天是我新生活的第一天，我翻看我的新课本，检查了新学年的一切。我既激动又担心。

Entering new school, I was curious about everything, new classrooms, new teachers, new classmates etc. It would be a new start for each student. And what I was worried about is that I had no friends here. I wondered if no liked to play with me. Were the teachers strict with students?

进入新的学校，我对所有事情都很好奇，新的教室，新的老师，新的同学等等。这对每个学生来说都是一个新的开始。我所担心的是在这没有朋友。我想知道是不是没有人喜欢和我玩。老师对学生是不是很严厉？

I fell relaxed when the teacher asked me, What else could I help you, freshman?". I found that the teachers were kind and polite, and the classmates around me were friendly. While I was thinking about how to get on well with my classmates, my desk mate showed me his favorite Ipad4s. He wanted to play with me, but I didnt know how to play, so he taught me patiently, and we played happily.

当老师问我：“我能够帮你什么吗，新同学？”的时候，我一下子觉得放松了。我发现老师很善良很有礼貌，周围的同学也很友善。正当我想着怎样和同学相处的时候，我的同桌给我看他最爱的Ipad4s。他想和我一起玩，但是我不知道怎么玩，于是他就耐心的教我，然后我们就开心的玩起来。

It’s a good option for college students to join the army. Army is the important constitution in a country. Nowadays, many college students prefer to be soldiers. Why?

参军对于大学生来说是一个很好的选择。军队是一个国家最重要的组成部分。如今，很多大学生都愿意去参军，是什么原因呢?

Firstly, there are many preferential policies for college students to join the army, such as tuition waiver, wage subsidy. What’s more, I consider join the army can strengthen our mind. In my opinion, it’s the most important reason to join the army. Whatever you are a student or others, two years’ training can build a strong body, too.

首先，大学生参军有很多优惠政策，如减免学费，工资补贴。更重要的是，我认为参军可以丰富我的想法。在我看来，这是参军最重要的原因，不管你是一名学生或其他人，两年的培训可以练就一个强壮的身体。

I want to join the army. My family is delighted to my decision. Because I want to be a great and strong woman and change my images in front of my friends. More importantly, I would like to experience the army life; I think it will be a colorful moment in my whole life.

Clothes are so significant in our daily life that we cant live without

them, because they are useful in many ways. For example, clothes could keep us

warm in winter and protect our skin from the heavy sunshine in summer. Whats

more, Clothes make a man just as a saddle makes a horse. Everyday we wear

different kinds of clothes to make ourselves more attractive. Suppose if we wore

the same clothes all the time, our life would be so boring.

As far as Im concerned, I know some kinds of clothes, such as formal

clothes, casual clothes, evening wears and uniforms. In different situations, we

wear different clothes. For example, we wear formal clothes to go to meetings;

we wear casual clothes at home; we wear evening wears to attend evening parties,

and we wear uniforms at school or at work.

Nevertheless, I prefer casual clothes, because they are comfortable. And

they are also very cheap. When I wear casual clothes, I can do a lot of sports.

It’s so cool. By the way, red is my favorite color, since Ive got a white skin.

If Im in red, Ill look kind and friendly. So I always buy red clothes when

shopping.

7月19日对我来说是意义重大的一天，这是我们阳光雏鹰假日小分队活动的日子。

8点半我们准时在金泊林小区门口集合。等所有队员到齐后，物业中心的一位热心的工作人员给我们分别讲解了垃圾分类的知识，介绍了垃圾分类的重要性，宣传了垃圾分类的好处。

随后，我们八名队员在工作人员的带领下进行垃圾收捡分类的作业。并拿着调查问卷和倡议书发放给来往的行人，宣传垃圾分类知识，告知他们不要随意丢弃垃圾，使大家养成垃圾分类的好习惯。

保护环境，人人有责。垃圾分类要从我做起，我愿用自己的实际行动，做一个真正的环保小卫士，美化家园，为少先队增光添彩。

近几年来，我国环境污染尤为严重，保护环境已成为人人关注的问题，保护环境、从我做起。做为城市中渺小的一员，也是需要尽到这份责任。趁着暑假时间，小队活动来到了——庆丰环保宣传站，来了一次“跟着垃圾去旅游”的活动，让我对垃圾分类有了更新的认识。

看了宣传站的资料，让我觉得垃圾在人们心中可能是没用的废物，令人讨厌的东西。但是，你们知道吗，如果把它们进行分类与加工，可以变成我们所需人的东西呢！

首先垃圾需要分类，主要是分为：可回收垃圾，厨余垃圾，有害垃圾和其他垃圾。可回收垃圾包括废纸，玻璃，塑料，金属和布料，经过处理比如塑料瓶可以回收起来打碎做一级回料，废纸也可以重新造纸，废金属可以融化再生成钢材。不可回收垃圾包括：瓜果皮、蔬菜、剩饭菜、变质食品等。比如垃圾袋，塑料膜，集中起来可以焚烧发电，贝壳，花生果壳打碎可以用做钙化肥。其他垃圾包括除上述几类垃圾之外的砖瓦陶瓷、渣土、卫生间废纸等难以回收的废弃物，采取卫生填埋可有效减少对地下水、地表水、土壤及空气的污染。

但是有害垃圾如果不能好好处理，危害很大哦，包括：废电池、废荧光灯管、废水银温度计、废油漆桶、过期药品等。像被称为“白色污染”的一次性塑料制品，掩埋在土里，要200年以上才开始降解。若将废电池混入生活垃圾一起填埋，或者随手丢弃，渗出的汞及重金属物质就会渗透于土壤，污染地下水，进而进入鱼类、农作物中破坏人类的生存环境，间接威胁到人类的健康，真是叹为观止。

参观过程中，让我不断回想起，之前在外面玩的时候，喝完的矿泉水瓶，吃完的零食包装，随手就混着扔了。家里遥控器里用尽的电池，也和生活垃圾一起，没有分类处理。看到小区池塘里有人随手丢弃的塑料袋漂在水面上。不知不觉中，竟然犯很多错误。

参观完了宣传部，让我懂得了垃圾分类并不难，但最重要是要有这意识，而且是人人有责任，所以我们走访了不少居民，对他们进行了垃圾分类宣传，希望让更多的人能参与。为了我们生活的地球。从我做起，垃圾分类，环境更美好。

The 15-Day Celebration of Chinese New Year

The first day of the Lunar New Year is the welcoming of the gods of the heavens and earth.Many people abstain from meat on the first day of the new year because it is believed that this will ensure long and happy lives for them.

On the second day, the Chinese pray to their ancestors as well as to all the gods. They are extra kind to dogs and feed them well as it is believed that the second day is the birthday of all dogs.

The third and fourth days are for the sons-in-laws to pay respect to their parents-in-law.

The fifth day is called Po Woo. On that day people stay home to welcome the God of Wealth. No one visits families and friends on the fifth day because it will bring both parties bad luck.

On the sixth to the 10th day, the Chinese visit their relatives and friends freely. They also visit the temples to pray for good fortune and health.

The seventh day of the New Year is the day for farmers to display their produce. These farmers make a drink from seven types of vegetables to celebrate the occasion. The seventh day is also considered the birthday of human beings. Noodles are eaten to promote longevity and raw fish for success.

On the eighth day the Fujian people have another family reunion dinner, and at midnight they pray to Tian Gong, the God of Heaven.

The ninth day is to make offerings to the Jade Emperor.

The 10th through the 12th are days that friends and relatives should be invited for dinner. After so much rich food, on the 13th day you should have simple rice congee and mustard greens (choi sum) to cleanse the system.

The 14th day should be for preparations to celebrate the Lantern Festival which is to be held on the 15th night.

The first day of high school life, I have some thoughts and feelings. The passage of time can always give people some special things.

In the new environment, I feel a bit excited. Be able to recognize the new students and teachers is my greatest gains. The proceof learning is also a growing process.
