Thank you for a rapid response to our invitation. Enclosed you will find an outline of events to take place during International Week here at the University of Montana. I will also list a number of possible speaking engagements so that you can choose those things in which you are most interested. As far as topics are concerned, the topics for classroom visits are generally determined by the professor, but most professors are very flexible. We have approximately thirty-five faculty members that teach courses in Asian Studies, ranging from language and culture to history and economics.

12 am - International Festival begins with a speech by the university president and an introduction of visiting dignitaries

1-5 pm - Opportunity to visit festival, interact with student performers, taste foods

6 pm - Dinner with Director of Mansfield Center Phil West, Ambassador Mark Johnson, and staff of Mansfield Center

I am not fond of basketball,let alone to play it.But I have seen a

wonderful basketball game between my class and postgraduate class.It is so

清明是中国农历二十四个节气中第五个节气。清明节在每年春天的四月四号到六号之间。这一天也是我们祭奠和缅怀逝去的亲人的日子。 Qingming is the fifth solar terms among the twenty -fourth solar terms of the Chinese lunar calendar.The Qingming Festival is between April 4th and 6th each spring.This day is also the day when we commemorate and remember their loved ones.

这时正是漫长的寒冬过去了，绚丽多彩、生机盎然的春天蹦蹦跳跳地来到我们身边。一会儿春风和煦地吹拂着我们的脸。一会儿春雨淅淅沥沥地飘洒下来，使大自然格外的清明。

奶奶说：“清明节是最富有诗意的节日。”我们翻阅了《少儿读古诗》这本书，找到了唐代诗人韦庄的“满街杨柳绿似烟，化做清明三月天。好似隔帘红杏里，女郎缭乱送秋千。”的诗还有宋代诗人吴惟信的“梨花风起正清明，游子寻春半出城。

日暮笙歌收拾去，万株杨柳属流莺。”的诗，还有唐代诗人杜牧写的那首脍炙人口的《清明》：“清明时节雨纷纷，路上行人欲断魂，借问酒家何处有，牧童遥指杏花村。”这些诗都描绘了清明这个节日带给人们是一般的精神享受，特别是杜牧把清明与“雨”紧紧地连在了一起是这种诗意达到了极致。

我喜欢过清明节是另有原因的：我终于有机会到郊外拥抱春天。第一个机会是学校组织我们去春游，那时，师生将乘坐大巴车一路上欣赏这春天的美景来到风景如花的山上、草地上或湖边柳树下，尽情享受着春天的快乐。

第二个机会是和我们吴家的所有成员结伴扫墓，那时，我们会带着鲜花、水果和糕点，祭奠吴家的祖先，我们排着队在墓碑前鞠躬行礼，奶奶鞠躬的时候，喃喃地说：“爸爸妈妈，我们来看望你了”然后，我和表哥表妹们在山上追赶疯跑，释放我们的青春活力，我们各自带着自己喜爱的玩具，如跳绳、空竹、风筝等在山下的空地上各展现自己的“绝活”。直到听见“我们走了!”一声喊，我们就依依不舍的走向各自的车子，互相挥挥手，奔向同一个目的地安乐园餐厅。

在回程的车上我沉浸在不舍离去的心情中，奶奶却和我耳语：“次活动可以叫扫墓，也可以叫踏青。我们把扫墓和踏青结合在一起了。

归途中，我在想着明年的扫墓和踏青。一年一度的清明节是我小学生活中不可忘怀的节日。

清明节，是我国最重要的传统节日之一，有谁知道，它其实是由寒食节经过千年发展演变而来。清明节祭祀，不论公私祭，都是表达孝心和感恩的方式，其主要内容是扫墓。

清明节那天爸爸妈妈带我去八里沟游玩，那里大树高高，小路弯弯，青山陡陡。小草都长出来了，小花也开放了，红的、黄的、白的、紫的，美丽极了!我们在上山的路上吸着新鲜的空气，边走边欣赏路旁的美景。

我们终于到达了山顶，向下望去，整个八里沟映入眼帘，可以欣赏很多很多的景色，我不由得触景生情，做了首诗：醉观太行

白云茫茫挡青山，隐见青山半边岩。

小溪慢流山脚下，游人醉观太行山。

我们在山下，还看了太行天河瀑布和水帘洞。非常好看，水帘洞里面是很长的通道，我们还在里面过了呢，非常好玩，八里沟真是青山清水如仙境一般。我希望没来八里沟玩过的小朋友，也到这里来感受一下吧!

Today is Qingming Festival. Its a traditional Chinese Tomb Sweeping Festival. Dad drives grandma, mom, my brother and I to Xianyou home together. My hometown is on a big mountain near Xianyou County town. After 1 hours of winding roads, we finally arrived at the destination -- my familiar hometown in dreams.

As soon as we got off the train, we could smell a fresh country smell, surrounded by green hills, and the whole countryside was so peaceful. We walked a few minutes to see an old house covered with mud, a place where Grandpa, grandma and Dad had lived before, and only Granny and grandfather lived there. With the development of living standards, going out to have a tourism is becoming a part of our life. But at the same time, uncivilized behaviors in tourism are frequently happening. So cultural tourism has became a hot topic in the society.

Especially in vacations, phenomena of uncivilized behavior in parks or museums everywhere. Even in foreign countries, our Chinese citizens still do naturally, it seriously affected our country’s image. Of course, it has caused bad loss in ancient buildings and antiquities and our environments. So it’s urgent to advocate to have a cultural tourism.

Firstly, we should keep in mind the sense of protecting the environment. And when we have a tourism, we had better watch out the warning words carefully and then obey the rules. For the sake of ourselves and our country, let’s do some meaningful things for cultural tourism.

When I was very small, I lived in my hometown. My grandparents raised two

dogs, and I liked them very much. I watched them grow up from the little animals

to the big dogs. Every time when I leaved home for school, they would follow me

I turned to mother said: "why are they so mean to the old man? Dont they themselves will not old?" Mother didnt answer my question, just let out a sigh, we went away. On the way, Im ripping mad.

"Why cant you give a little love, the in the mind a little more tolerant, more loving? If everyone a little more love, the society will be even more full of warm, isnt it?

寒假里，发生过许多愉快的事，也发生过许多有趣的事，还发生过许多难忘的事……我今天讲述的是一件令人深思的事情。

那天，天气很冷，空中飘着鹅毛大雪，地上像是铺了一层厚厚的雪毯，整个一片雪白的世界，我和妈妈却兴致很高，准备上街去踏雪游玩。走到十字街路口处，我看见有一大群人在围观，就急忙跑过去，想看看究竟是发生了什么事情。

原来是一位老爷爷在街口卖白菜。看他那么大的年纪了，还艰难地挑着两筐绿油油的白菜卖，好可怜哟!我看见白菜上还覆盖着一层白雪呢!他挑着白菜，被三位不知是工商局还是城管局的叔叔发现了，大声吼他，还又推又撞，命令他马上离开，不要随地乱卖菜，这样影响了交通秩序。

我转过身对妈妈说：“他们为什么要对老人这么凶?难道他们自己就不会老?”妈妈没有正面回答我的问题，只是叹了口气，我们就走了。路上，我的心情久久不能平静。

”为什么大家不能都献出一点爱，心里多一些宽容，多一些爱心呢?如果人人都多一些爱心的话，这个社会不是会更加充满温馨吗?

The tomb sweeping day is one of the traditional festivals in China. On April 5th, people start to visit their ancestors’ tombs. Generally speaking, people will bring the home-made food, some fake money and paper-made mansion to their ancestors. When they start to honour their ancestor, they will light up some candles and incense, put some flowers around the tombs.

The most important thing is to put the home-made food in front of the tombs. The food, also known as sacrifices, is usually made up with a chicken, a fish and some pork. It’s a symbol of the offspring’s respect to the ancestors. People believe that the forbears will share the food with them. The children dedicate the food and money to their forbears in order to show their love and caring. The young offspring will go down on their knees and pray for their ancestors. They can say their wishes in front of the tombs and the ancestors will make their dreams come true.

In some provinces of China, people use different activities to commemorate this day, for instance, spring-outing, swinging, tree planting and making special food. One special food is Ay Tsao rice balls. It looks like Tang-yuan, but its colour is green. Mix the ay tsao juice with the rice powder, then make it into small balls. The Ay Tsao rice ball is done. People believe that eating ay tsao rice balls can get rid of the bad luck and everything will go smoothly. Other activities such as spring outing, tree planting are the other ways to commemorate the forbears. For one thing, it is a sign that people should look into the future and embrace the hope; for another thing, we do hope our ancestor rest in peace.

理想是无数人拼搏的动力，是无数人成功的阶梯，要想实现理想，就要为之付出，正如一位伟人说的：“只有不为攀登的采药者，只有不畏巨浪的弄潮儿，才能登上高峰采到仙草，深入水底觅到骊珠。”心中有梦，威猛拼搏，霍金就是其中一个。霍金，被称为轮椅上的勇士。一次霍金坐轮椅回柏林公寓，过马路时被汽车撞倒，左臂骨折，头被划破，缝了13针，但48小时后，他又回到办公室投入工作。还有一次，1985年，霍金动了一次穿气管手术，从此完全失去了说话能力，他就是在这样及其艰难的情况下写出了著名的《时间简史》，探索着宇宙的奥秘，这难道不是他坚信梦想的力量吗？

花儿的梦想是努力绽放出娇艳的笑脸，让人们欣赏；鸟儿的梦想是长大后在蓝天上展翅飞翔，成为一只有远大抱负的鸟；而我的梦想是成为一名培养“祖国花朵的园丁”。

如今，我是一个即将毕业的小学生，在我的身边有许多同学都在谈自己的远大理想，可是他们有的不努力，有的不文明，不礼貌。这样的人即使理想再高，抱负再大，也不会有好结果的，现在，我终于明白了，理想只有靠自己脚踏实地的不懈努力，才能得以实现，否则就只是空谈。

教师交给学生知识，教给学生做人的道理，鼓励学生们进取，批评学生马虎大意的毛病，引导他们走向正途，许多明星、专家、医生和教授，都是老师培养出来的啊！我想：只要我坚定不移地朝着这个理想努力奋斗，我一定会成为一个优秀的园丁。

理想是人生导航的灯塔，让我们在这灯塔的指引下，努力拼搏，克服困难，到达理想的彼岸。
