Good afternoon, everyone! My name is wjh. I am 12 years old. Now I’m a student in Xitan School. The school is a little far from my home, so I uaually get up early and go to school by bike. My favorite subject in school is English, because it’s very interesting. I like Chinese too. My teachers are kind and fun. I like them. I have many friends at school and we usually study and play together. On weekends, I usually go shopping with my mother, sometimes I climb moutains with my father. I love my parents very much and they love me.

I like eating fruits and vegetables, because I want to be healthy. Fish is my favorite food. It’s yummy. In four seasons, I like winter best. Because I like playing with snow. I made a beautiful snowman with my parents last year. I was very happy. I hope it will snow this year too.

I have a dog. His name is Xixi. He is very smart and lovely. I like playing with him. I think I am a happy girl. I often smile and I’m very friendly. I hope you like me. Thank you！

My hometown is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town.Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there.The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another.The life of the people is greatly improved.I love my hometown. All the more I love its people.They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

我的家乡是个美丽的地方，它座落在一条宽宽的小河旁边，富产鱼和大米。但是在过去它是个又穷又偏僻的小镇。很多人没有工作，生活很难过。1949年解放以来，我的家乡发生了很大的变化。道路拓宽了，工厂、学校、医院、电影院和歌剧院一个接一个建成。人们生活质量大大地提高了。我爱我的家乡，更爱家乡的人们。他们辛勤工作保持着它的富有、美丽。

Nowadays, there are many kinds of activities for people entertaining in their leisure time, especially in holiday, such as climbing a mountain, having a picnic, holding a party and so on. However, these recreational activities have its advantages but also bring some harmful influences to people’s lives.

First, to some extent, these recreational activities enrich people’s lives. Those who take part in different activities will not be easy to feel lonely or boring in their leisure time and live wonderful lives instead. Second, taking part in some group activities is a good form to strengthen friendships. For example, many students will hold a union to collect their old classmates or friends in winter holiday so that they have a common time to communicate with each other. Last but not least, such activities like climbing a mountain provide a good chance to do exercise.

However, these recreational activities also bring some problems at the same time. For one thing, taking part in too many these activities will increase the burden of themselves or their families because it is inevitable to spend some money in holding these activities. For another, some recreational activities have potential harm for participants’ health, particularly staying up all night, drinking and smoking.

Therefore, in my opinion, we have to make a careful consideration before we take part in these recreational activities.
