所以，我们应当知道，人类存在这个世界上，是要互相关怀勉励，互敬互爱的，科学应该是用来改善人类生活的；如果人类发明太空穿梭机，原子能是用来爆发战争，用来残杀人类自己，那真是太可惜了。相信谁也不想见到漫天烽火，谁也不希望妻离子散，美好的家园变成残破瓦砾；不希望那些天真活泼的孩子变成无父无母的孤儿，那个本来安定的环境，转眼间变成废墟。因此，我们应该同心协力维护世界和平，人与人之间，互相谋作，减少纷争。

I believe everyone is eager for comfortable, peaceful life and hating wars. So the United Stations decide to set up an International Day of peace. It falls on the third Tuesday of September every year, aiming at celebrating the day that the global realize ceasefires and non-violence. Its symbol is a flying dove. It represents peace. This festival is the day for people from all walks of life. The international community including the United Nations has made uemitting efforts for the realization of regional stability and world peace over the years. However, nowadays, War, terrorism, regional conflicts and other forms of violence hostile activities still exist. It is a long way to go for people to realize the real peace ideal. We all live in the same society. More or less, we get help from others, our parents, relatives, teachers, friends even strangers. In return, we should give others a hand when they are in need. We should transmit this kind of love. As long as everyone can contribute a piece of love, the world will become a paradise. As for our inpiduals, helping others would bring us happiness and a sense of achievements. We would be happy to see that we are capable of helping others. A little boy invited his mother to attend his elementaryschool’sfirst teacher-parent conference. To the little boy sdismay, shesaid she would go. Each and every year, during Chongyang Festival, citizens of China celebrate the elders in their families and communities. It’s a special tradition which is rooted in the deep value that Chinese culture places on honouring their elders.

Sadly, many of our aging population are seniors without sons, daughters or grandchildren to visit. While they may have great friends, they no doubt miss the tender and loving relationships unique to families. To fill this void, many volunteers turned up on October 28 at nursing homes around the country in order to spend time with the residents. In some cases, they performed humble gestures of kindness, such as combing their hair or washing their feet.

Their family members or community volunteers may drop by for a few hours of token time, but soon they disappear back into their busy lives.
