Dear Mr. Wang,

Thank you for a rapid response to our invitation. Enclosed you will find an outline of events to take place during International Week here at the University of Montana. I will also list a number of possible speaking engagements so that you can choose those things in which you are most interested. At the beginning of the summer vacation, our family of three returned to my

hometown, Shehong.

Back in Shehong, we stayed at my grandmothers house. One Friday morning,

my brother and I made an appointment to catch cicadas in the bushes downstairs

at their house because they have a lot of cicadas there. Before night, I rushed

over and saw that my brother was already there waiting for me, with a prepared

pocket in his hand.

We walked cautiously into the bushes, for fear that our every move would

disturb the cicadas on the trees. At this time, the cicada was screaming

"knowing" and "knowing", as if they were holding a wonderful concert. I walked

very carefully under a big tree and found a cicada lying in the middle of the

今天，姥姥来我们家，手里还拿着一把“干树叶，”我惊奇地问：“姥姥，你拿”干树叶“干嘛，”她笑着说：“这不是干树枝，是艾叶，在端午节那天把艾叶插在门口，可以驱赶蚊虫和避邪，治病 ……”听了姥姥的讲解，我怀着好奇心，拿出了百科全书，书上是这样写的：“艾叶是种普通的植物，生长在山地头，晾干后的艾叶不仅可以在夏天用艾叶熬水擦洗患处，还有解毒功效呢！”小小的 艾叶竟有如此大的好处 。我突然发现，自己要学习的知识还有很多很多，不仅课堂上要认真听讲，还要多看一些课外读物，从而了解更多的知识，做一个德、智、体全面发展的好学生。

According to the design of our district, we need information about firms that have recently moved into this area. more students get the college education, college students are under great

车子在陡峭的山路上前行，我们像坐在过山车里一样。我们的两边不断的看见为皇帝修建的建筑物，其中还包含冷宫。听妈妈说，冷宫是皇上不喜欢的妃子住的地方。

避暑山庄给我留下了深刻的印象，我也知道了一些关于清朝皇帝的知识，我很开心。

I am terribly sorry that I failed to arrive at BLCU last Friday. I hope that this did not mess you up completely, although I know that you had already made some special arrangements for my visit with you parents and friends. I am very sorry about all that. I am sure you will be sympathetic, however, when I tell you that my father is dangerously ill in hospital, and that I found it impossible to leave for the visit when he is in this state.

My father was working very hard on his project on protecting the environment. I know the project has come to a very important stage. He and his assistants did not take regular rest for three weeks. Last night, my father had a heart attack and was soon sent to the hospital. The doctor said my father was in a very serious situation, and, he might need an operation.

24 hours have passed. Nothing has changed. I have to stay at the hospital. I will let you know if there is any good news.

I am sorry again and look forward to seeing you soon.

动物园是我儿时最喜欢去的地方，在那里可以看到许多可爱的动物。听人介绍，上海野生动物园是中国首座国家级野生动物园。园内里汇集着世界各地具有代表性的动物和珍稀动物。今天，妈妈将带我和妹妹一起去上海野生动物园游玩，一路上我和妹妹兴奋不已。

一进动物园，哇!动物园可真大啊!我们先坐着大巴车，驶进了车入区。首先映入我们眼帘便是七个大字，“食草动物放养区”，在食草动物区里我看到许多食草动物有：羚羊、梅花鹿、驼羊、骆驼、长劲鹿、犀牛、孔雀、牛马……它们正在津津有味地吃草，一见我们来了，不时地抬起头看看我们，好像对我们这些游客也很新奇。接着汽车驶进了食肉动物区，我们先看到了猎豹

，只见那些猎豹个个威风凛凛，身穿一件黑大袍，悠闲自在的躺在石头上休息。除了猎豹还有其它食肉猛兽如：非洲狮、黑熊、白虎……真令我大开眼界。

游完车行区后，我们来到了步行区。步行区的动物也很多，有：狮虎兽、扬子鳄、马来熊、企鹅……在步行区，游客们还可以和动物们来一次零距离的接触，如：和鹦鹉拍照、骑大象、喂鸟儿吃食等等。妈妈叫我去骑大象，但大象实在是太高大了，胆小的我不敢去骑，最后我选择了和妹妹去骑马，同样也很有趣!我们还观看了好几场动物们的表演，其中最有趣的要数海狮投篮表演了。只见海狮用嘴托着球，将球一顶，把球顶入了篮筐，顿时游客们发出如雷般的掌声，太精彩了。

游完整个动物园后，我们来到了园内纪念品馆。我平时最喜欢的动物是孟加拉虎，妈妈就买了一个孟加拉虎的毛绒玩具给我作纪念，我非常开心。

时间过得真快，我们的动物园之旅结束了。上海野生动物园是一个精彩的动物世界，它让我大开眼界，同时也增长了许多的知识，我喜欢这里。

今年的中秋节，天公不作美，一场突如其来的暴雨打乱了我们的中秋节行程，也打乱了我们晚上赏月的星空。

8月15日 星期六 晴

昨天听了外公、外婆的故事以后，我对他们以前的生活更感兴趣了。今天我又要求他们讲给我听。

海南是个台风多发生的海岛，外公外婆在那里经历了大大小小几十场的台风，其中有一场大台风让他们印象特别深刻，直到现在还历历在目。今天，外公又绘声绘色地讲给我听。

那是19__年9月的深造农场，深夜两点多钟，当年三岁的妈妈和一岁的二舅躺在外间的床上睡得正香。突然，外面传来了刮大风的声音，树叶"哗哗哗"地响着，透过窗缝，看到树干在不停地左右摇晃，墙壁上几只黑色的小蜘蛛早已逃跑得无影无踪。紧接着，屋顶漏水了，一道道闪电如利剑劈下来，伴随着一阵阵"隆隆隆"的雷声，外面的大雨好象是从装满水的特大盆子倒下来，雨水"哗拉拉"的声音好吵，外公、外婆睡意全无了。这时，风更大了，刮走了屋顶上的几片瓦，幸亏没砸到人。

突然，风停了，外公外婆打开门去看个究竟。只见鸡笼的鸡几乎都死光了，剩下几只到处乱窜，有些人在抢修房子。外公对大家说："根据老一辈人留给我的经验，大台风还会再来的。"大家半信半疑，不过还是都回去了，他们用芭蕉叶、竹子枝叶之类的东西把门和窗的细缝填满，又把门窗关好加固。果然，不到半小时，台风又来了，风把门吹开了，外公、外婆看形势不妙，就分别抱着妈妈和二舅钻到里间的床底，妈妈和二舅刚被抱走，他们床上方屋顶的瓦片就砸了下来，好险啊!外公、外婆和妈妈都泡在水里，冷得直发抖，但外婆怀里的二舅还在呼呼大睡呢。外面飞沙走石，时而一阵阵"呼呼"的风声，时而有大树倒下的"霹雳"声，屋里的积水越来越多，直到天亮。

风终于慢慢地小了。天亮时，风停了，外公外婆松了一口气，大家高兴得手舞足蹈，农场又变得生机勃勃。

当我接到说要手写一封信给你的时候，我是又开心又担心。开心的，我可以给儿子写封信，说说心里话，担心的是怕写不好。妈妈好忐忑。

提起笔我的脑子立刻浮现出了。你出生的日子和你的名字。你出生的那一天是我每每想起都后脚跟都抽筋的日子，实在是太疼了。不过我从没后悔和埋怨过。关于你的名字，爸爸和妈妈想了好久才定下来的，那承载着做为父母的愿望。睿：是睿智是你对生活的态度，诚：是诚信是你的为人的品格。

有一天，突然听到你说，妈妈你小心一点。我恍然大悟

首先是理想。你一定忘记了，你的第1个理想是当保安。是的，是你斩钉截铁的告诉我，就是要当小区门口的保安。当时我一听愣住了。“好，长大了就当保安。”我无法跟你解释太多。我知道，那时候的你只会以貌取人，你觉得保安穿制服帅气，所以你想当保安。接下去的三年，你整整穿了三年的迷彩服，其他任何衣服都不穿。邻居们就开始叫你大兵，是的，大兵就是这么来的。三、四年级的时候，我又问你儿子，你长大了想做什么呀?你说妈妈我不知道我长大了想要干什么，没有理想。“没事，你再想一想，肯定有你想做的事，想到的时候你再告诉我。”儿子不是你没有理想，而是你已经从以貌取人开始思考，你在判断，你在寻找合适自己的理想。六年级的一天，我们又谈到了这个问的话题。你说：“妈妈我可能当个数学家或者物理学家比较合适。”“好呀，那你就朝这个方向好好努力吧，需要我提供什么，只管告诉我。”是的，你开始逐渐了解自己，你慢慢的找到自己的方向。儿子一天一天成长，这是一个过程。那么我希望你能在今后的日子给自己一个明确的方向，制定一个合适的理想，这是你奋斗的一个目标。你是一艘小船，你的理想就是导航灯。

其次是关于学习。你应该清楚的记得，你上学的第1天，妈妈只告诉你一句话:学习是你自己的事情。我非常的欣慰，小学的这6年，你没有让我为你的学业操过太多的心。然而学习是终身的，正如我现在学习如何做好一个妈妈是一样的。所以妈妈不希望你把学习当做是一个任务。希望你把学习当做一种态度，要保持对未知的好奇;一种习惯，让他成为你生活中如吃饭一样自然的事情;初中和小学是有本质的区别，初中科目多，强度大，时间紧，你若再用小学的学习方法，妈妈很担心。现在你要学会归纳、总结、合理的利用时间，找到合适自己的学习方法。学习的路上，不可能是一帆风顺的，总是会碰到这样或那样的困难，总是会碰到你喜欢或不喜欢的科目。学习若千般虐你，你更要万般爱他。

最后我们谈谈运动。这是你的硬伤，你宁可解十道难题，也不愿挪一下屁股。这让我对你的健康无比担心。儿子，健康的身体是学习和生活的基础，运动，这是健康的必要条件。运动除了锻炼你的身体之外，也在锻炼你的意志。接下来的日子我最想看到的是：你不要排斥运动，培养自己一项喜欢的运动项目，并长期坚持训练。

其实妈妈想要说的还有很多，比如生活、勇敢、脆弱、善良、尊严、珍惜时间、亲情、友情、爱情等等。

儿子成长是一个很神奇的过程像一杯芳香四溢的茶，入口也有点苦

有点涩一一因为成长路上你慢慢失去了童稚，失去了无忧的欢乐，失去了不管不顾的勇气，失去了一份崇拜的心灵依托;但随即你就会发现这茶的醇美、芳香。

儿子，若想将来的岁月静好，现在必须负重前行。成长路上虽有荆棘，却也是一路风景。最后，妈妈希望你记住一句话：家是你永远的避风港，不论你碰到任何困难，请你回家，爸爸妈妈永远是你解决问题的办法。

爱你的妈妈

终于放暑假了，可以尽情的玩一玩了。

这天，妈妈说要去丹尼斯买东西，还说让我骑着自己的自行车去，她骑着大自行车，我们两个一起去，我高兴的答应了。

我和妈妈骑着车子上路了。开始，我骑得很快，妈妈追不上我。过了一会儿，我骑得没劲儿了，速度变慢了，妈妈这才追上了我。妈妈对我说：“街上人太多，你要小心点儿，看着人，特别是过马路的时候，车特别多，要看红绿灯，否则你会撞车的!”妈妈让我跟着他走，以防万一。

到了一个三角形的路口，妈妈听了下来，下来推着车走。我紧跟在妈妈身后，丝毫不敢迟疑。可是，我还是没能跟紧妈妈，妈妈过了马路，可我还在马路中间呢!我左看右看，两边都来了车，这可怎么办呢?我急得向热锅上的蚂蚁——团团转。妈妈在对面对我喊：“站那儿别动，等边上的车走了再过来，别着急!”我在心里埋怨妈妈，两边的车还都离我远着呢!还不如让我先过去，还我等这么长时间。过了马路，我问妈妈：“妈妈，你为什么不让我先过去，而让我等车过去再过来呢?”妈妈对我说：“孩子，我们宁可等一分钟，也不抢这一秒啊!有多少人都是为了抢这一秒钟，而失去了宝贵的生命啊!”我想了想，妈妈说的话挺有道理。

今天，我不仅玩了，还从中懂得了道理。这真是有意义的一天啊!

I would like to apply for the post of Works Manager, which was advertised in The Guardian of I2 October 2004. I feel that my qualifications and experience are ideally suited for the position.

I was born in 1968, and I went to school from 1973 to 1988. In 1987 I took the General Certificate of Education, and I got good grades in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. After leaving school, I attended the Orient Technical College, where I first studied Fiber Technology and Color Chemistry; later I studied other subjects related to textile manufacture, and in 1991 I obtained the Diploma in Textiles.

After completing my studies, I joined the Top Clothing Company where I worked until 1996. In that year I moved to Prior Productions, who was pleased with my work, and as a result, in 1998, I was promoted to Assistant Works Manager there.

I enjoy my work, and I am prepared to work hard. Moreover, I am sure that Prior Productions would give me an excellent reference. I therefore feel that my application deserves your serious consideration.

盼望着盼望着，终于把暑假盼来了，也盼来了和小伙伴们一起去旅行的日子。

出发前一天晚上，我兴奋地收拾起自己的东西，把它们装进我自己小小的拉杆箱里，等待着天亮。第二天一大早我就起床了，在小区门口等着旅游大巴的到来。等了一会儿，我终于坐上了大巴，小伙伴们都已在车上了，车子载着我们赶往杭州火车站。之后我们登上了开往北京的火车，一路上我们欢声笑语，不知不觉就到了北京。北京的天蔚蓝蔚蓝的，夕阳正要落下，我期待着第二天的旅行。

暑假刚刚开始，爸爸妈妈就带我去新加坡玩了。我们第二天就去了圣陶沙岛上的环球影城。

环球影城里有很多好玩的，比如说变形金刚，马达加斯加，史瑞克4D电影……其中我最喜欢的是变形金刚，因为它非常惊险，刺激，很受大家欢迎，我们足足排了一个多小时的队才进去。进去以后，我们坐在能变形的车里协助擎天柱打败邪恶的敌人霸天虎夺回火种保护地球。经过一番冒险，我们体验了加速、失重、翻滚、战斗等等冒险活动。其中，垂直坠落让我感觉到非常的紧张和刺激。
