One day, when I woke up and took out my cellphone to read the news,

suddenly, the news about Michael Jackson’s death shocked me.

My first reaction was that it was a joke or a rumor, because there was

always the news about celebrity’s death which turned out to be a mistake.

But as there more information about this man’s death, the fans realized

that their idol had passed away. It was such heartbroken, Michael Jackson was

the great music pioneer. People lost the great idol. Many popular singers are

affected by Michael’s music deeply, they imitate Michael’s dance. Michael’s

classic dance likes walking in the outer space, we can see many people imitate

him all the time. Michael is such a great idol, though he has gone, his still

influences people. He is an eternal idol.

As it is known to us all, there are 55 minority groups in China, each with its traditional customs, costumes and culture. Now let’s take a look at the Tibetan Minority.

The Tibetan Minority group live in Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan and Yunnan Province. And the highest ridge in the world─beautiful and mysterious Tibet is their major habitat .

As the fertilized prairie stretches around the habitants as far as the eyes can see, most people live on animal husbandry, raising sheep, goats, cattle and growing a special kind of plant called Qingke. On account of the unique climate, people often wear warm and comfortable boots in winter, and they are always dressed in delicate robes which are made of the fur of sheep. Often they take off one sleeve of the clothes and tie it around their waists in order to work easily and use it as warm quilts at night.

Both men and women there like wearing silver ornaments, which look very mysterious and full of magical power. And they are good at singing and dancing, and the men there can have braids too. When they meet an important guest, they will present him or her a Hada, a piece of long white silk cloth to show their respect. And they will also treat the guest to a special kind of drink called Suyou Tea, which some people find hard to enjoy.

Besides, the habitants have developed both their own written and spoken languages, and the long poems they wrote play an important role in Chinese literature. And there are many well-protected culture relics as well, taking the grand Budala Palace as an example. It is a historical museum as well as an art treasury, where people can share their spirit belief in Buddhism and get artistic entertainment of the carved paintings and the beautifully-written chirographies.

The Tibetan ethnic group is also famous for its strange custom in funeral. Thinking that the soul belongs to the sky after a person dies, they usually put the body on a platform outdoors, spray on it and wait the condors to come to eat the body. In this way, they believe the soul goes up to the sky.

The Tibetan Minority is brimming over with deep emotions. The people there are very zealous and hospitable and they live freely and happily on the spacious grassland. Their history and culture contribute to the diversity of China, so we certainly should protect them and get them popularized and let them receive great respect they deserve.

One Sunday my mother (Mother) had (made) me take my little young brother to

the a trip to the country。 She bade me take good care of him。

While we were walking along the road， the sun was shining brightly and the

I am a December 2003 graduate from the University of San Francisco (USF) with a bachelors degree in International Business. As part of my career planning, I am very interested in supplementing my international business education with a basic knowledge of the Chinese language. This I hope will help me enter into business commerce with business organizations partnering with Chinas economic development.

I already have information from BLCU and hope to study there for at least one full year starting with this summers program continuing through the fall and spring semester 2006. Can your office advise me if such scholarships might be available to me?

I have been studying Chinese for one year now. I am not sure what level I belong to. I was told that there will be an HSK test in our university in September. I am planning to attend the test. But I dont know if the result of the test is recognized by your university. If so, can it be a help for me to apply for the scholarship?

colorful, and I have enough confidence to realize my dream.

I am planning to spend my summer holiday on sports this year. Playing

basketball is always my favourite, so some of my classmates and I will form a

small team and play basketball together. Sometimes we may have a match against

some other teams and I do enjoy the sense when we win the game.

The bell declares the end of the last lesson and the beginning of a new journey. Tired as I am, at the sight of the bench, I go straight to it. As soon as I get seated, a world of fresh green immediately catches my eyes. Grass sprouts burst through the soil right in the place of the withered grass and turn the dull grey into fresh green. As I look up, I find those tall trees have also put on new clothes. Green, here and there, everywhere!Spring has come, I realize suddenly.

I turn on the radio to enjoy some light music. Much to my disappointment, however, almost all the programs are about the war in Iraq. It is hard to believe that under the same blue sky,some people are suffering from bleeding and death of war while others are enjoying a happy life.

The sun is hidden by the clouds. After a few seconds, it shines brightly again.

Peaceful life seems to have gone, but it will come back one day, I am sure.

早晨起来，睁开惺忪的睡眼，发现天还没亮，而指针已指向了6"。手一伸出被窝，马上就冷得缩回去了，起床的决心不免有些动摇。毫不容易走出公寓，抬眼望去，三两个行人和老屋都沉浸在这厚厚的浓雾中，如沉睡一般，还未醒来。星星点点的光晕在晨雾中酝酿，隐约可见，这该算是冬的一点柔和吧!然而，空气实在干燥得很，深呼吸一口，让人觉得不是滋味。薄薄的一层保湿霜，显得如此微不足道。一阵风刮来，卷起一地的落叶，在风中旋着，飘着，我不由得裹紧了衣领，向餐厅走去。

一路上，看到落叶仍然保留着夏的颜色，却毫无生机，耷拉着树枝，在风中瑟瑟发抖。小鸟不得不夹紧翅膀，慵懒地躲在鸟窝中，不想离开。草地上闪烁着一颗颗晶莹透亮的露珠，压弯了小草的腰，似乎在和小草较着劲儿呢。轻轻一碰，露珠便顺着草叶快速地滑下，滴入肥沃的泥土，再空中留下一段优美的弧线。

太阳懒洋洋地升起来了，吝啬地给予大地几缕微弱的日光。操场上的人也多了，在尚未褪去的浓雾里急走穿行，步履匆匆。每个人都穿的不多，但已足以抵御冰冷的寒风。校园外的田地里，辛勤的农民挑着水，再地里摆弄冬日脆弱的绿色。

冬日，象慈祥的老人，慵懒而又快乐;冬日，象一壶飘香四溢的茶，需要你细细的咂摸。

体验一个冬天，体验一程旅途，体验一段生命。

俗话说“十里不同风，百里不同俗”。我的家乡是被称为“道德之乡”的涡阳，那里的春节别有一番特色。

说起春节，除夕这天是非提不可的。因为在这天晚上，不到万不得已时，人们必须赶回家吃团圆饭。饭桌上摆满了美味佳肴，人们围坐在一起，谈论着一年中的趣事，津津有味地吃着，享受着团圆的幸福。吃完团圆饭，人们来到院中观看绚丽多彩的烟花，五光十色，形态万千的烟花随着阵阵响声便冲上天，在漆黑的夜空中绽放。一大朵一大朵的烟花连成一片，使人看得眼花缭乱，真是美不胜收。在这天晚上，人们都要看“春晚”，一大家子人围坐在电视机前，吃着瓜子，聊着天，其乐融融。到了午夜十二点，鞭炮声一阵接着一阵，不绝于耳，这是为了迎接新一年的到来。

到了大年初一，人们都早早地起床，这是因为要去拜年了。大人们都拿着精心准备的礼品，而孩子们则跟在大人身后，去亲戚朋友家拜年。每到这时，孩子们可开心了，个个脸上都洋溢着笑容，因为压岁钱要到手了，不过这钱可来之不易，需要孩子们跪地磕头才能得到。拿了压岁钱的孩子们，心里别提有多高兴了!在这天呀，可不能忘了吃饺子。大人们在包饺子时，有时会包进一枚硬币，谁要是吃到了有硬币的饺子，便寓示着新的一年福气绵延无边。

在随后的几天里，便常常能听到鞭炮声。街上、房前处处都有鞭炮的零星炸响。每一次响亮的爆炸，都预示着一次快乐的欢呼。

一眨眼，春节就结束了。学生该去上学，大人们也照常上班。新的一年开始了，人们纷纷向着新的目标奋进、努力了!

小草给大地母亲带来了无限的生机，那绿色的草坪像一块块绿色的大地毯。小朋友们在草坪上玩游戏，你追我赶洒下了一阵阵的笑声。把草儿都惹笑了。还有的小朋友在花丛里捉蝴蝶。蝴蝶也在翩翩起舞，和小朋友玩捉迷藏呢。

春天是绚丽多彩的季节，春天是生机勃勃的季节，春天是小朋友喜欢的季节，春天是令人着迷的季节。

春天是一幅美丽的画卷。我爱着美丽的春天。

“你好!雪儿姐姐。一日不见，如隔三秋。最近可好啊?”我冲出家园，大声的在雪堆里喊。隐隐约约听到：“嗯……我很好……你呢?”“我也很好!”说着，天上散下了柳絮一般的雪，桃花瓣一般的雪。

雪花落在我的头上、身上、脸上。张开手掌，一片片美丽的花片慢慢铺满了我的双手，六角、星星、细针、枝状……像一幅美丽的画。

她是那么美!来时一尘不染，落时一声不响。一朵朵雪花，晶莹剔透，哪一位艺术家能做出这样精美的工艺品?这真是大自然的杰作啊!

这么美的雪，是怎么来的呀?我很好奇的向邻家姐姐打听。姐姐告诉我，下雪的云是由小冰晶和水滴形成的。云中的水汽吸附在冰晶上。这样呢，冰晶越来越大、越重。当小冰晶增大到能够克服空气的阻力和浮力时，便飞落到地面，这就是雪花。但是，往往在下降途中大部分被蒸发掉了，很少能落到地面，所以只有在天上有较多水汽，较冷的天气中才能形成雪。

原来我喜欢的这雪儿精灵来到我们这儿，那么的不容易呀!我不由得更加喜欢她了。望着这漫天飞舞的雪，犹如天使的翩翩身姿向世人展示她的纯洁和美丽。多么神奇和美妙啊!

雪，带给我无穷的向往。让我们自由，让我们欢笑。在雪的世界里，我们自由自在地打雪仗、堆雪人、滑雪……尽情的拥抱我们这可爱的天使!

或许，这就是雪的魅力所在吧!
