Many of these traditions began with the Mesopotamian celebration of New Years. The Mesopotamians believed in many gods, and as their chief god-Marduk. Each year as winter arrived it was believed that Marduk would do battle with the monsters of chaos. To assist Marduk in his struggle the Mesopotamians held a festival for the New Year. This was Zagmuk, the New Years festival that lasted for 12 days.

The Persians and the Babylonians celebrated a similar festival called the Sacaea. 我一看啊!只开了四分之二，当时信心十足的我已经成了一个漏气的皮球了。那时我的同桌田丰说‘不要那么的轻意放气要鼓起勇气，信心十足的面对每一个问题。’我说‘谢谢你，让我再一次的鼓起了勇气。’我上课的时候总是忐忑不安让老师发现了好几次;到了第三节课快下课的时候我的圣诞树终于开花了。我那时高兴极了;我坐车回家，回到家后玩了会儿电脑看了会儿电视，妈妈叫我睡觉我说‘睡不着’妈妈说‘你不睡觉圣诞老人不给你礼物了’我说‘我马上睡’;早上我一看那里有我喜欢的洋娃娃。后来我才知道是妈妈送我的洋娃娃。

That was the first time that I celebated Christmas Day. My friend aksed me to take part in Christmas party. At the party we danced and celebrated with carols. I knew some new friends. We exchanged gifts and said best wishes to each other. I had a pleasant time.

Christmas is the biggest festival in the western world， which people all over the Christian countries celebrate. It is on the 25th day of each December.
