随着经济发展的步伐，我的家乡——雅瑶镇琶珍村，发生了翻天覆地的变化。

由雅瑶圩镇沿着一条堤岸向山里行三十多分钟就来到琶珍村。它背靠连绵起伏的大山，面临平展的一大片农田，村中一座座三四层的楼房、小别墅拔地而起，房前屋后种有各种树木花草，让人见了就会顿起世外桃源的感觉。

为了寻回小时候的记忆，回眸村中旧貌，我特意向村子深处走去。一间间平房矮小、狭窄，有砖建成的，有泥砌成的，简陋非常。依稀记得那时村道肮脏，雨天泥泞，晴天沙尘扑面。家家户户都家贫如洗，村民为两餐下肚而起早摸黑地忙个不停，至于衣着就是“新三年，旧三年，缝缝补补又三年”。

中山路是我市的主要街道，过去由于人多车多，路面坑坑洼洼，每逢雨天，街道里就积满了水，汽车驶过，泥水飞溅。晴天车辆经过尘土飞扬，呼吸呛鼻子，街道两旁的商店参差不齐，屋顶上全是些破破烂烂的瓦片，一些随意堆放的茅草。现在在党的重视下，以前中山路破坏不堪的样子已不复存，现在修成了一条现代化的步行街。街道的地面铺上了一块一块做工精细的砖头，平整光滑，非常美观。每当夜幕降临的时候，街道两旁的路灯放出灿烂的光芒，把街道照得如同白昼，人们从四面八方聚集到这里来逛街、购物，真是热闹非凡。
