This month, I will travel to Changsha and Zhangjiajie with my two friends, which is supposed to be a seven-day trip. We will set out on 10th, June. 这里讲的目标是家长和教师强加于孩子的“期望”，而不是孩子发自内心的“向往”。

家长“望子成龙”的目标往往失之太远，而教师布置的考分指标又失之太近，孩子恰恰缺乏中期目标。

家长设置的目标多数是一种“身份期待”(让孩子做“人上人”)，孩子社会经验少，对此不会有多大兴趣;教师设置的目标则多数是一种“任务指标”，极其枯燥无味。孩子需要的是具体化的、形象化的、能震动孩子心弦的、有“孩子味”的行动目标。

总之，我们现在的目标教育基本上是以成人为中心的、成人一相情愿的、“包办婚姻”式的。我们要把它变成孩子自主自愿的、成人孩子相互协调的、“自由恋爱”式的目标教育。

我这里特别强调，最好早点帮助孩子建立一个“职业目标”，职业目标具体形象，吸引力和感召力远远大于概念化的“考大学”、“当博士”等目标，这对孩子的激励作用比较大。

我问过很多中小学生“长大干什么”，多数人都回答“不知道”，说明我们这方面的工作很薄弱。我们不少家长对孩子的个性、爱好、智力类型不予研究，对孩子将来从事什么样的工作最能实现自我、造福社会不怎么关心，这些家长关心的似乎只有一件事：提高孩子的社会地位，给大人挣脸面。难怪很多孩子现在都是在给家长学习，这是家长引导不当造成的。

怎样引导更恰当呢?比如非典时期，我的孩子看电视，对医务人员的无私奉献精神非常钦佩，萌生了做“白衣天使”的愿望，这就是一个很好的契机。于是我就可以想办法结识一两个素质较高的医生作为朋友，带孩子到他们家里去做客聊天，到医院去看看他们怎样工作。我还可以事先跟他们打好招呼，让他们在和孩子的谈话中介绍一下要做一个医生需要什么样的条件，而我则不去说这些话。远来的和尚会念经，内行人说话孩子信服，很多话让别人说比家长自己说更好。这样，如果孩子真想将来当医生，他上课听讲、回家写作业的时候，医生的形象和话语就会成为他实实在在的动力，这时候“上大学”对他来说就不再是“完成父母交给的任务”，而变成了实现个人理想的必由之路，理想与现实挂上了钩。

即使我的孩子后来改变了理想，在改变前的这一段时间，当医生的理想也还是对他的学习起了“临时发动机”的作用，只有好处，没有坏处。所以不怕孩子理想发生变化，(这种变化对孩子来说是非常正常的)，就怕他没有理想，就怕他的理想不具体。

有些孩子的理想属于“空想”，光说不练，这种情况家长不要讽刺他，而要想办法借助外力让孩子把理想落实下来。比如孩子说想当警察，你就带他去参观一下警官学校，让他自己打听一下做警察需要什么条件，这样他就不好再发空论，只好努力创造条件实现自己的理想，因为这时他已经明白(注意，让他自己明白过来，家长不要说破)，如果不干实事，只能离理想越来越远。

有的孩子眼高手低，志大才疏，喜欢吹牛，不能正确估计自己的实力，这种情况也很常见。家长用这种职业落实的办法，也可以使孩子清醒。比如我的孩子扬言做科学家，其实他不灵。我不生气，也不打击他，我带他去一个真正的科研单位看看，让真正的科学家向他介绍一下科学家需要的素质、科学家怎样生活，让孩子明白，自己想当科学家，怕是希望不大，于是他就会调整对自己的期望值，这样反而会使他学习成绩有切实的提高。

其实，帮助孩子树立职业理想(注意：是“帮助”，而不是“钦定”)不只对他眼前学习成绩的提高有很大作用，而且关系他一生的幸福。人如果能从事自己喜欢而擅长的工作，当然会比那些为了谋生不得不从事自己不感兴趣的职业的人活得快乐。职业理想涉及孩子一辈子的生活质量问题，不可不重视。
