春节之所以是一个极为重要的节日，是因为通过这个节日的庆祝仪式，能加强家庭联系与亲情。诸如吃团圆饭、向亲友拜年送礼等等，这些习俗都在提醒人们，家庭在社会中的中心地位。世界各地凡有华人聚居的地方，无不隆重而热烈的庆祝这个节日。春节的庆祝活动，从农历正月初一开始到农历正月十五，一连15天。

古代帝王继位，为了显示“天子”的权威，往往自立历法，因此历代元旦月日都不一致。汉武帝继位，决定重修历法，使之统一。今日我们所采用的历法是汉武帝以后，经过多个朝代修定的。

历代皇室庆祝“春节”的场面往往反映出那个朝代的强盛、稳定与繁荣，国家越富强，庆祝仪式就越隆重。

为了接待亲戚朋友上门拜年，家家户户都在节日前把住家里里外外，打扫得干干净净。一些家庭还在门上贴上春联，写上吉祥联语，祈求好运，年年丰收。

It was the Eve of the Spring Festival.

Dusk was just falling as I slurped up the last bit of rice and laid down my chopsticks.

“Theyre starting!” cried my friend excitedly. “Quick! Quick!”

Outside, children were running everywhere. Their happy voices and faces made me warm inside, despite the cold wind that greeted me. My friend thrust a bundle of straw in my hands. “Come!” he cried. I giggled as I ran to catch up to him; the childrens excitement was a fever that spread to even the big kids like us.

I soon joined a rowdy bunch of children and teenagers who were building a bonfire in the middle of a path that ran through the wheat fields. “Here,”said my friend, handing me a long bamboo pole. “Put some of your straw in the fire. Then tie the rest onto your pole like this.” He demonstrated with his own materials, and I followed his example. Then he thrust both our torches into the fire and handed me mine. “Now run!”

And run I did----we all did. For miles and miles around, as far as I could see, there were small orange specks scattered about, and I could hear the distant screaming and laughing of other children running up and down the rice field path. For several hours into the night I helped build fires and keep an eye on the younger children. Occasionally I, too, lit a torch and ran around like a mad man, screaming and waving a flaming bamboo pole.

This festival, which occurred six days before Chinese New Year, was just one of the experiences during the visit to my friends over the Spring Festival. As it was explained to me, the purpose behind this festival was to allow the children to have fun burning up all the straw leftover after the harvest. Later, the ash is used for fertilizer.

Because the Spring Festival is the most solemn traditional festival of Chinese folk. In the first month of the summer calendar, also known as the lunar calendar, commonly known as "New Year", "New Year". Every year, the streets are covered with red lanterns and colorful flags. The mall is a sea of people, buying New Year goods, but lively. Grandma prepared a hearty meal, with a lot of "bam, bam, bam" on the outside, and the guns  . Now I hope most, is the Spring Festival.

Up early in the morning, I want to be comfortable to wear new clothes to worship ceremony, the elders outside with dad to say hello, and then for a bit of apple, candy, chocolate, pear... Before the Spring Festival I harvest, I for all is not enough. So the Spring Festival, I want to take a lot of delicious, if you eat not to drop, stored, eat later.

At noon, and dad threw bamboo together, a lot of people have a doubt, this is which ethnic customs, let me tell you! This is just our family the only one with this custom. In the evening, our family will together with fireworks. Father lit a large firecrackers and fireworks took a long, colorful tail, into the sky, blooming out of the beautiful dress. Our family together, ate rich dinner, while watching TV in the wonderful program, a meal, will go to the village a small shop there see reality show...

现在我最期盼的，就是春节了。

一大早起来，我要穿着舒服的新衣服给长辈拜礼，在跟着爸爸去外面问好，再捞点苹果、糖果、巧克力、梨子......以往的春节我收获的东西，还不够我塞牙缝。所以这个春节，我要拿很多的好吃的，要是吃不掉，就储藏起来，以后吃。

中午，和爸爸一起扔竹竿，很多人就有疑问了，这是哪个民族的习俗，让我告诉你吧!这只是我们家唯一一个有这个习俗。规则是：看谁投得远，投得准，这要由两个人组成一组玩，才能玩。一个人拿着竹竿扔，另一个人拿着一个超大号的篮子，接竹竿。这可是要看两人之间的配合、默契，才能胜利、成功。我和爸爸可是老队友，只要我们俩在一起，不会不赢的。

下午，我就和我的妹妹，我的姐姐一起玩，两人向前冲，规则是：一个人的右脚和另外一个人的左脚绑起来，然后向前冲，我跟我姐姐也是老队友了，每次我们上场，就会按1、2 1、2的节奏走起来。

晚上，我们一家子人要一起放烟花。爸爸把一个很大的爆竹一点燃，烟花就拉着一条长长的、五颜六色的尾巴，直冲云霄，绽放出了美丽的舞裙。我们几个小孩子拿着小烟花围着门前的空地转来转去，小烟花就像仙女的仙棒，显现出了漂亮的仙气。我们一家围在一起，边吃丰富的晚餐，边看电视里精彩的节目，一吃完饭，就去村口一个小卖部那里看真人表演.....

这是我期盼的春节，快乐的春节。

Spring festival is the most important festival in China. During Spring festival, people visit their relatives, sending their best wishes for a new year. Children are the happiest in spring festival. They will receive red envelopes that contain money as new year presents. They can also play crackers and fireworks. Whats more, they are given a lot of freedom, which they have dreammed of for a whole year. During Spring festival, there will be plenty of foods. Thats why many people put on "holiday weight" after Spring festival. When it comes to food, there are many festival specialties. The world famous Jiaozi and Chunjuan(spring roll) have even been accepted by foreigners as fast foods. Spring festival usually comes in Feburary, sometimes earlier. Its a festival full of hope and good wishes. Its a symbol of Chinese culture.

春节是中国最重要的节日。春节里，人们走亲访友，把新年的祝福送给彼此。孩子们在春节期间是最高兴的了。他们通常都会接到装着钱的红包作为新年礼物。他们还可以玩烟花爆竹。他们甚至会得到他们梦想了一整年的自由。春节期间，到处都是各种各样的食物。这就是为什么很多人在春节过后都得上“假期综合症”的原因了。说道食物，有很多带有节日特色的东西。闻名世界的饺子和春卷现在也被外国人作为速食而广泛接受。春节通常都在二月，有时候也会早点儿。春节是一个充满了美好祝愿和愿望的节日。它是中国文化的象征。
