After reading this wonderful story, I can feel love, brave, deep friendship and some other good spirits in the people.

So they all take the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. On the way to the Emerald City they met some difficulties, but they solved them successfully. After they met the Wizard of Oz, the wizard gave them another challenge—to kill the bad Witch of the West and they accept. During the way to the Witch of the West’s house, they were caught by the witch and Dorothy was requested to work for her. One day, when the witch tried to catch Dorothy’s red shoes, Dorothy threw some water on the witch by accident and the Witch of the West disappeared. Only water can kill her. So Dorothy went back to the Emerald City with her friends but they found the Wizard of Oz is not a real wizard, he is also a man came from Kansas, and he is just a conjurer. The book is a little difficult to read at first. Personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. Other than referring to persons of African decent in derogatory terms (which Im sure uses terms even young children already know), the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages.

Having read the book Sister Carrie written by Theodore Dreiser,a very complicate feeling struck me,for the society,the people in America in the late 19th century.We can see clearly about the decadent and hypocritical moral principles of the bourgeois.They pursue only position,authority and money.Pleasure is their honest companion.

The society was developing rapidly and the people"s living standards were also improving.Yes,the prosperity appeared.But on the other hand,the gap between the poor and the rich was strengthened.While some people were playing and drinking,the other people were working,even begging.Behind the happiness,hiding much misery.Facing all of these,I am confused whether I should happy about the development of the society or I should sad about the cruel.

But I know I will give much sympathy to all of these people,no matter they rich or poor.I am sorry that the rich have lost their good morality,their sympathy and I think they are blank in their spiritThe poor,of course,are busy all the day for supporting themselves and their family,no time enjoying the life.All of them are the sacrifices of the society.

I read the book then watched the movie, both of them ga一ve me great shock, I really admire Meggie,she had the courage to use her whole life to love Ralph, never ga一ve up. She believed that she would love Ralph only in her life. But I don’t like Meggie’s attitude to love, Ralph is a Father, and he mustn’t love Meggie, they really loved each other, but they are not destined to be together. So in my opinion I think Meggie should give in, she shouldn’t fight with God, Ralph had told her he would serve God forever, so Meggie wouldn’t win. Maybe giving up is a good choice. Their love is painful.

Tell the turth I don’t like Meggie neither Ralph, Ralph could not give Meggie happniess while Meggie couldn’t support Ralph to concentrate on his work. So they would not ha一ve happy life, they only made each other feel sad .

Frank is my fa一vorite role. he was short but strong ,and he was one of the main labor in his family. He didn’t want to be a shepherd, but the family needed him , and he must feed he the sheep so that everybody in his family can live better. Once he escaped from home , but it wassn’t long before his father found him and take him home. I feel so sorry that he had a miserable fate. He longed for freedom but most of his life didn’t belong to himself, it’s really a pity .

Due to Santiago’s recent bad luck, Manolin’s parents have forced the boy to go out on a different fishing boat. Manolin, however, still cares deeply for the old man, to whom he continues to look as a mentor.

Because Santiago is pitted against the creatures of the sea, some readers choose to view the tale as a chronicle of man’s battle against the natural world, but the novella is, more accurately, the story of man’s place within nature. Both Santiago and the marlin display qualities of pride, honor, and bravery, and both are subject to the same eternal law: they must kill or be killed. As Santiago reflects when he watches the weary warbler fly toward shore, where it will inevitably meet the hawk, the world is filled with predators, and no living thing can escape the inevitable struggle that will lead to its death. Santiago lives according to his own observation: “man is not made for defeat . . . [a] man can be destroyed but not defeated.” In Hemingway’s portrait of the world, death is inevitable, but the best men (and animals) will nonetheless refuse to give in to its power. Accordingly, man and fish will struggle to the death, just as hungry sharks will lay waste to an old man’s trophy catch.

The novel suggests that it is possible to transcend this natural law. In fact, the very inevitability of destruction creates the terms that allow a worthy man or beast to transcend it. It is precisely through the effort to battle the inevitable that a man can prove himself. Indeed, a man can prove this determination over and over through the worthiness of the opponents he chooses to face. Without a ferocious sense of pride, that battle would never have been fought, or more likely, it would have been abandoned before the end.

Santiago’s pride also motivates his desire to transcend the destructive forces of nature. Even if the old man had returned with the marlin intact, his moment of glory, like the marlin’s meat, would have been short-lived. 《黑骏马》是一部十九世纪轰动欧洲文坛的经典小说。这本书的内容很精彩详细的说明了主人公“黑骏马”在人类家里度过的，一生，他遇到过了好人，让他接受良好的训练，从不让他太劳累，但也遇到过外行的人，不会驾驶马车的。小说主人公“黑骏马”是一匹漂亮的优种黑马，从小他就生活在贵族人家，吃着优良的饲料，受过良好的训练，性格十分的温顺和善良。并且他聪明、机智、勇敢，主人和他的家人都十分喜欢他。但是好景不长，主人家里有了变故，黑骏马被迫被卖掉，他一连被买过很多次，在这段时间里，他接触过各种人：一喝多就拿马撒气的醉汉。不会驾驶马车的外行人，一直紧紧的拉着马车缰绳，从来不让马的嘴巴松弛一下，也不给马一点点自由行动的空间，那些赶车人觉得只有这样做，才稳妥。还有一种人就是松松垮垮的驾驶马车，连缰绳都不拉的，自己的双手懒洋洋的搭在膝盖上。有不把动物当回事儿的坏人，还有把动物当作自己最亲的朋友，保护他们，爱护他们。许多的马匹在十分恶劣的情况下为人类干活，他们的处境很悲惨，有些马是因为干活太劳累而活活累死的，还有些马竟然是因为一种十分残忍的时尚而疼死的。比如说他们为了使自己家的马“更加的有精神”，而连肉带骨头剪短他们的尾巴，这在当时竟然还是一种普遍的时尚。

马也是一种动物，不管他是什么动物，我们都应该去保护他们，就像课文上说的，我们和动物是共同属于一个家园。这个大地不能没有动物、植物，也不能没有人类，我们和动物、植物是兄弟姐妹，但是在现在，我们却在残杀自己的兄弟姐妹，难道我们人类就是这么的残忍吗?我们应该爱护动物，给动物们一个美好的家园，而不是一个充满自己鲜血的家园。

There are many students around me.They love deeply with each other, but because of the nation the opposition in the home, and become tragedies one after another .All of them are the protagonist in the novel.

In addition, I want to express some of my personal opinion. Although the national unity, although I am a Muslim, I want to tell everyone clearly that many muslims are becoming more and more stupid, more and more extremism.There is a sense of superiority in their innate character , thinking they are better than any other nations. They always try their best to find the faults of others, to criticize others, what is hated most. Real islamic culture has been twisted, and what they present to others is more of a brutal, violent, radical, split. That is why a classic literature has been criticized .

I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. It’s pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the he-ro-in-e,though I didn’t think she’s beautiful. But she’s smart. However, I didn’t pay much attention to the plot. I thought it’s so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I haven’t read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice. In fact, I didn’t understand the story at that time. I didn’t know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didn’t find where’ s the prejudice. I thought it’s normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. Now, I think I have understood more about it. I’m a prejudiced person so I can’t find where’s wrong.

I merely like to do the things I like. Everytime I meet somebody or something,my thinking about he or it all depends on my foregone experience and my mood of the time.

Today, I read a famous American writer Ernest Hemingways novel "the old man and the sea", the book left a deep impression on me, I very admire book old fishermans will, he let me know how a person must have unremitting spirit, could succeed.

On the description of the old man and the sea is a nearly sixty years old fisherman, in a single sea, caught a big fish, but do not go up. When I met with some difficulties, I always feel very frustrated, feel very tired, really want to escape from reality. 今天，我读了美国著名作家海明威的小说《老人与海》，这本书给我留下了深刻的印象，我十分佩服书中老渔夫的意志，他让我懂得了一个人一定要有坚持不懈的精神，才能获得成功。

《老人与海 》描写的是一个年近六旬的老渔夫，在一次单身出海打鱼时，钓到了一条大鱼，却拉不上来。老渔夫同大鱼周旋了几天后，才发现这是一条超过自己渔船数倍的大马林鱼，虽然明知难以取胜，但仍不放弃。后来又因大马林鱼伤口上的鱼腥味引来了几群鲨鱼抢食，但老人不愿这样放弃，最终突出重围，将大鱼的骨头带回了渔港，让其他渔夫佩服不已。

当我读到爷爷与鲨鱼进行激烈的搏斗时，我真为爷爷担心，可是爷爷，总是保持着乐观的精神去面对一些极大的困难，看到这里，我不由得想起自己。每当我遇到了一些困难时，总是觉得很不顺心，觉得很烦，很想逃避现实。再看看桑提阿果爷爷，不管遇到任何困难也毫不退缩，而是勇敢地去面对!

做人也应该这样，不要一幅贪生怕死的样子，要对自己有信心。即使我们遇到重重困难，也绝不应该让它给打倒，应该勇敢地去消灭它。

我们是祖国的未来，应该像桑提阿果爷爷一样胸怀大志，去追求更好，更大的目标。我相信，在我的努力下，我一定会变得像桑提阿果爷爷那样勇敢，那样勇于拼搏。
