新学期，我从城里的外国语学校又回到了家乡的那所学校。回想一年来在新学校的发生的件件事情，有一件让我非常难忘，就是去年圣诞节那天晚上，爸爸带给我们的惊喜。

去年，我随妈妈一起从乡下的小学来到了城里的外国语学校，每隔10天回家一次，这让从小就和爸爸妈妈在一起的我很不习惯。尽管爸爸平时对我很严厉，我不喜欢和他在一起。可忽然爸爸不在身边了，我又觉得生活好象少了一部分，在学校的时间里，我又开始想念着他。圣诞节那天晚上，学校张灯结彩，灯笼高挂，一派圣诞气息。晚自习后，看着别的小朋友有说有笑的挽着爸爸妈妈的手出去玩，而我只能跟着妈妈在办公室里，我心里真的别有一番滋味，要是今晚爸爸在这多好啊！

忽然，妈妈的电话响了，是爸爸！他告诉妈妈他骑摩托车已到学校大门口了，妈妈问他来时为什么没有告诉她一声，爸爸说要给我们惊喜，是的，那天晚上，爸爸的到来给了我们很大的惊喜。坐在爸爸的摩托车上，我心里别提有多高兴了，我们首先来到饭店，进了饭店，就见里面的服务员都带着圣诞老人的帽子，墙上也贴满了圣诞老人的图画，电视里还播放着圣诞节目，让我感觉就像进了圣诞老人的家。爸爸为我们点了丰盛的饭菜，我们在一起吃饭、聊天，还讨论着圣诞节的话题。

吃完了饭，爸爸带我们去了超市，为我们买了很多东西，有吃的、日常用的，我和妈妈的手都有些提不住了，到了宿舍，爸爸没有走，和我们又聊了很多……从爸爸质朴的话语中，我感觉到了发自他内心的浓浓爱意。那晚，我永远忘不了！

据网上报道显示，人大代表提出高考取消英文科目，赞同人数高达百分之八十二，这一话题也成为当今许多同学的热议，很多人认为：中国人学好国语就行，为何要学习外国的语言。

我认为英语成为我们学生的学习主科有其道理性和针对性的针对学生的发展未来。从对国家发展来看英语占全世界的国家讲的人数虽不是最多的，但却是分布的最广乏于国家的，包括很多的发达国家，中国学习这门语言对走出世界，同其他国家交流沟通发挥了很大的作用，如果取消这门沟通语言之门便少了日后中国发挥国际地位中的作用，众所周知，中国早已加入世界贸易组织，若贸然作出取消英语科目的决定，其进一步从长远地发展眼光看便可想而知。

作为学生，许多人的其他科目优势都能被英语这门科目好多了，但无论如何学好英语对学生的将来只有利大于弊，如果其他都学好只有英语差，对将来是不利的，要想睁大眼睛看世界，就得努力使自己插上翅膀飞出中国面对多样化，缤纷多彩的世界，到一个发达的地区闯出一片天，再把自己的国家发展好。

义务教育阶段时期在小学时便把语文，数学英语，这三门科目定为了主要学习科目，其实英语只要从小学基础打起，便觉得好学，多听，多说，脑海里会自然形成像语文那样会听，会说的一种能力。
