以说明为主是说明文与其他文体从表达方式上区别的标志。小编收集了说明文写作常用方法,欢迎阅读。

(1)举例子。举出实际事例来说明事物,使所要说明的事物具体化,以便读者理解,这种说明方法叫举例法。 运用举事例的说明方法说明事物或事理,一要注意例子的代表性,二要注意例子的适量性。

(2)引资料。为了使说明的内容更充实具体,可以引资料说明。引资料的范围很广,可以是经典著作,名家名言,公式定律,典故谚语等。

(3)作比较。说明某些抽象的或者是人们比较陌生的事物,可以用具体的或者大家已经熟悉的事物和它比较,使读者通过比较得到具体而鲜明的印象。事物的特征也往往在比较中显现出来。 在作比较的时候,可以是同类相比,也可以是异类相比,可以对事物进行“横比”,也可以对事物进行“纵比”。

(4)列数据。为了使所要说明的事物具体化,还可以采用列数据的方法,以便读者理解。需要注意的是,引用的数字,一定要准确无误,不准确的数字绝对不能用,即使是估计的数字,也要有可靠的根据,并力求近似。

(5)分类别。将被说明的对象,按照一定的标准划分成不同的类别,一类一类地加以说明,这种说明方法,叫分类别。 分类别是将复杂的事物说清楚的重要方法。

(6)打比方。利用两种不同事物之间的相似之处作比较,以突出事物的性状特点,增强说明的形象性和生动性的说明方法叫做打比方。 说明文中的打比方的说明方法,同修辞格上的比喻是一致的。不同的是,比喻修辞有明喻、暗喻、和借喻,而说明多用明喻和暗喻,借喻则不宜使用。

(7)摹状貌。为了使被说明对象更形象、具体,可以进行状貌摹写,这种说明方法叫摹状貌。

(8)下定义。用简明的语言对某一概念的本质特征作规定性的说明叫下定义。下定义能准确揭示事物的本质,是科技说明文常用的方法。 下定义的时候,可以根据说明的目的需要,从不同的角度考虑。有的着重说明特性,如关于“人”的定义;有的着重说明作用,如关于“肥料”的定义;有的既说明特性又说明作用,如关于“统筹方法”和“应用科学”的定义。

(9)作诠释。从一个侧面,就事物的某一个特点做些解释,这种方法叫诠释法。 定义法和诠释法常采用“某某是什么”的语言形式。形式相同,如何区分呢?一般来说,“是”字两边的话能够互换,就是定义;如果不能互换,就是诠释。 例如,“人是能制造工具并使用工具进行劳动的高级动物”这句话,改成“能制造工具并使用工具进行劳动的高级动物是人”,意思不变。“雪是在云中形成的一种固态降水物”这句话,如果改为“云中形成的固态降水物是雪”就不成。由此可以辨别,前一句是定义说明,后一句是诠释说明。

(10)画图表。为了把复杂的事物说清楚,还可以采用图表法,来弥补单用文字表达的缺欠,对有些事物解说更直接、更具体。 一篇说明文单用一种说明方法很少,往往综合运用多种说明方法。采用什么说明方法,一方面服从内容的需要,另一方面作者有选择的自由。是采用一种说明方法,还是采用多种说明方法,是采用这种说明方法,还是那种说明方法,可以灵活,不是一成不变的。

如果说有什么方法可以提高雅思写作成绩,我想从根本上提高的唯一办法就是转变思维方式,也就是把中式思维向英式思维靠拢,只有这样才能符合雅思考官的喜好,才能得高分。本文中,将具体介绍一下中式思维和英式思维的区别,以及怎样才能写出更符合雅思考官要求的作文。

事实上,如果脑袋里有一个中文的概念或者想法,要用英文来表达的时候总是免不了紧张,因为由于中英两国的文化不同,很多东西无法表达----非常可能不是因为考生的语言问题,而是因为这个中国的概念在英文里面根本就不存在。有数字统计过中英两国语言的词汇量只有40%能互通(所谓的equivalent),而这就意味着剩余的60%的表达肯定是和原文有很大出入的。甚至很多我们生活中经常使用的语言,不假思索就能说出的概念,在英语文化里很可能根本就没有对应的表达,例如热闹这个词,考生们可以试试能否在英文单词中找到让你满意的对得上号的词。这个地方很热闹这句话,根据语境可以有不同的翻译,但是总体而言,热闹作为一个词来说,在英文里几乎是没有对应的。

正因为如此,我们才强调,写英语作文,说英语口语,要用英语思维,不要用中式思维。这对于很多人来说是个很空洞的概念,只有当你真正用英语与外国人交流的时候才会体会到英式思维的重要性。

这的确很难,因为我们在中式思维里面扎根的太深了。事实上,这也和两国语言本身的特点有关。鲁迅就说过,中文和外文比,吃亏就吃在不够精确,具体到单词水平,就是词汇量少。因为词汇量少,因此中文特别讲究上下文,一个模糊的词只有在一个特定的语境里面才能让读者感到一个特定的意思。相比而言,英文在这方面就不是这样,具体的说,大部分英语词都是有着非常确定的意思的,因此,那些在中文里面需要联系上下文才能端倪出的细微差别,也许在英文里面只是另一个单词而已。记住这点,笔者下面所说的也许会对诸位有用,在这里,笔者提供一个方法,就是如果你脑袋中有一个想法的话,仔细想想你到底想精确说的是什么意思。比如,当你想说某一个命题错误的时候,你最好想清楚它到底错在哪里,illogical, irresponsible, biased, prejudice, fallacy, untrue这些词之间都有着或大或小的差别,所以主要想看你到底想说的是什么。

所以,诸位想锻炼写作的话,建议要做的第一样功课,就是求精细。只有你自己求精细了,才能发现报刊、书籍中对相近的概念的不同表达法的精妙之处,才会由衷地为某篇文章的一个用词会心一笑。写作就是思维表达的一种形式。西方人直线式的思维方式体现在语言上就是西方人说话写文章喜欢开门见山,把关键性的话放在开头,然后再论及其它次要的内容。

而写作涉及到语言的方方面面,从语言的结构上来说最基本的因素包括遣词、造句和篇章。螺旋与直入的思维差异就会影响到这些方面,具体包括修饰语与中心词、句子和篇章。

一、修饰语与中心词

英语的修饰语,如介词短语、动词不定式、分词、定语从句等皆放在被修饰语的后面;而汉语的修饰语无论长短、繁简,皆置于被修饰语的前面。体现了直入与螺旋的不同的思维方式。例如:

1. The scientists everywhere in the world are looking for the efficient methods to make the air clean and protect it from the pollution by all kinds of industrial harmful waste gases.

汉语全世界的科学家,修饰语在前,中心词在后,而英语则是中心词在前,修饰语在后。净化空气、防止空气受到各种有害工业废气污染的有效方法同样是修饰语在前,中心词在后,而英语则相反。

2. We appreciate your words about the relations between our two countries.

3. The hungry boy ate up everything he could have his hands on from the refrigerator.

比较而言,该句主语太长,谓语太短,构成了不连续性修饰语,不过还是有些突兀,但修饰语还得后置。而汉语怎样合理分配世界自然资然的问题仍是修饰语在前,中心词在后。

二、句子

英语句子开门见山,其主谓结构是全句的纲,其余成份是目,一般先下结论,后叙事,从近到远,新近发生的事先出现,重心落在句首。汉语句子一般以逻辑关系和时间的先后顺序排列,一般先叙事,后下结论,由远及近,重心落在句尾。这种差异体现了直入与螺旋的不同的思维方式。

中国学生在英语写作时往往会受汉语思维的影响,写出下面的句子:

1. When I stayed in Guangzhou last month, you helped me. I am grateful for that.

2. Toms mother died when he was only two years old, so he did not remember her.

3. After we left China in 1959, the natural calamities happened one after another for three years in the country. While we read about it at home, we had been dismayed.

4. It looked rain that evening, yet Dad came all the same. That made us very joyful.

如果按英语直入的思维方式,以上几句要改写成:

1. I am very grateful for your help to me during my stay in Guangzhou last month.

2. Tom did not remember his mother who died when he was only two years old.

3. We had been dismayed at home while reading of the natural calamities that happened one after another for three years after we left China in 1959.

4. It looked rain that evening, yet to our great joy, Dad came all the same.

这种思维方式的转换要是更复杂一点,对中国学生来说,是需要操练的。例如:

1. 我认为如果他们初次相识时,她很穷,他未必会爱她。这位女性由于对他有好感而帮助他,使他心存感激,这种感激之情很容易发展成为真挚的爱情。

I do not suppose he would have loved her if she had been poor when he first knew her, but the gratitude which he felt for the help which he owed to her kindly interest in him easily developed into a sincere affection. (条件关系和多层因果关系的转换)

2. 她去深圳参加一个会议,会议结束后,她就到香港去购物,昨天才回来。

She came back yesterday from Hong Kong where she had gone shopping after the meeting in Shenzhen.(时间顺序的转换)

三、段落篇章

这里篇章包括段落和全文。总体而言,英文篇章,一般都采用直线型的形式,尤其是说明文和议论文,更是一般具体式的。英语篇章是a writer-responsible pattern, 即作者在篇章中有责任、有义务向读者交代其主旨或目的。为使读者省时高效,英语篇章开门见山,一开头就直接点明段落的主题句 (topic sentence) 或全文的中心思想 (thesis statement), 即亮明作者的观点、态度、看法等;或者以引言开门,即首先用一个熟悉的事实、观点、故事、引言等开头,然后直接见到作者全文的观点思想。

由以上分析可知,西方人的直线式思维和中国人的螺旋式思维存在明显的差异,体现在语言中,几乎渗透到语言的各个单位,包括词汇、句子、段落和全篇。当然,笔者无意说思维模式孰好孰坏,正如我们不能断言文化模式孰好孰坏一样。但作为学英语的中国人,学原汁原味的语言是我们要达到的最高境界。自然,这里的语言也应包括discourse或text。因此考生们要知道,一种思维是一种文化长期的积淀,它已进入该民族的潜意识,根深蒂固,如果只学语言本身,不会知其所以然,一旦到了使用语言时,汉语思维自然突现,写出Chinglish, 浑然不知。此外,建议考生多背诵和模仿英语经典文章,如《新概念英语》第三册上的文章,笔者认为皆为语言的精华,不但文词优美,每课都是一篇范文,原汁原味,多读这样的文章,一定会有所启发。由此看来,老生常谈而又令人费解的学会用英语思维,倒不如换个说法学会英汉思维转换,即懂得英汉思维的差异,在平时读书的时候去真实地领悟,久而久之,就能写出地道的英文来,至少不会写出那么多的Chinglish。

综上所述,想要取得雅思写作7分甚至更高的分数,单靠所谓的模板和复杂的句式是做不到的,只有从写作思维模式上进行改变,才有可能取得好的写作成绩。而中式思维的根深蒂固必定会对正确的英语写作思维产生阻力,因此,临摹英式思维的文章以及阅读海外学术著作对于转变写作思维有着至关重要的作用。

实际上,大作文的第一段是情景铺垫,建议考生在这一段要点明这篇文章要讨论/解决什么问题及问题的背景。作文的首段通常包含以下几个方面:

1.严谨的布局:

正所谓万事开头难,不过只要开了个好头,这篇作文就会很好写了。

凤头

是文章的首段,是阅卷老师首先入眼的地方,一定要做好整篇文章的中心把握,要做到下文与首段上下连贯,紧密结合,要通过开头使下文有可写之处,开头要达到让阅卷老师耳目一新的效果。例如,巧用排比,比喻,拟人等修辞手法,并且通过这些修辞手法,而统领全文主旨。

猪肚

在一篇上好的文章中,分段都会恰到好处,而当文章中只有一大段或两三段时,这篇文章即使文采再出众,也不会有太高的分数,因为阅卷老师在中考判卷时,每三分钟就要判出一份作文,工作量相当大,如果不善于分段,阅卷老师可能失去耐心,从而看不完,就会草草的给出分数。所以,在我看来,一篇文章至少要分6-8个段,但不是一行或几行一段,而是要看起来像豆腐块,一块块整齐的排列在一起,使文章紧中有松,松弛有度。要看上去整篇文章是一个整体,而不是零散的。

豹尾

在文章的最后处,应当让主题更突出鲜明,升华主题思想,使豹尾抽起来!或让人感到峰回路转,柳暗花明或更进一步的特殊效果。在文章末尾,应当再次点题,紧扣中心思想,让贯穿始终的中心思想继续延伸,引人深思。特别是要在结尾处,与开头形成呼应,对比,递进等等,来引发阅读老师的共鸣!

2.细腻的文笔

不管是记叙,议论还是散文;不管是写人写事还是写景。都要用细腻的文笔呈现出来,使文章中点更突出,让阅卷老师在看试卷的过程中,有深思,放慢阅读速度和重复阅读的情况出现,让阅卷老师身临其境,从而使文章更具灵性。

3.贯穿始终的思想感情

一、引言

在看学生的雅思写作文章过程中,总会看到这样的文字,“College graduates are difficult to find jobs. ”,“Parents realise the needs of their children is extremely important. ”,“Students cannot focus on their study because of tiredness is a fact. ”, “Clearly, rush hours emerges in the early morning as well as early evening which is most busy in a day as a whole in London.” 这几个句子,虽然长短不一,结构不同,话题各异,但是,学生对形式主语it的驾驭能力的欠缺,是可见一斑的。

二、形式主语

(一)什么是形式主语

作为形式主语的it并无实际语义,是为满足语法上的需要,避免句子头重脚轻,它代替的是句子的逻辑主语。

(二)形式主语it所在的句型类别

1、作不定式的形式主语

(1)句型

It is + a pity/a pleasure + to do sth.

It is + wrong/right/wise/cruel/naughty/selfish + of sb. + to do sth.

定语从句综述:

在雅思写作这种半书面英语中,定语从句既可以修饰一个名词或部分代词,也可以修饰其前面整句话(这个时候定语从句谓语从句必须是单数哦,而且引导词必须是“,which”)。

比如:Anything which encourages language learning benefits society culturally and economically. 任何鼓励外语学习的事情有利于社会的文化和经济发展。这句话中的which 修饰不定代词anything。

再如:children spend much time watching TV,which gives rises to many health problems like obesity and poor eyesight.小孩花大量时间看电视,这样会引起很多健康问题,比如肥胖症以及视力下降。这里的which就在修饰其面整句话(children spend much time watching TV.)

改造定语从句的3大方法:

但是这样的句子在大部分的学员作文中出现的比较多,那怎么样让屌丝定语从句逆袭呢。其实有多种方法,今天我们先介绍大家容易掌握的3个方法。

1:如果定语从句修饰名词,而且定语从句的谓语动词是be动词,也就是N 关系代词BE 形式,这个时候我们可以把关系代词+be动词省略

比如:

A vast majority of people who are invited to the party are well-known scientists.

我们就可以把who are省略,改为:A vast majority of people invited to the party are well-known scientists.

这样我们就把原来普通的定语从句做定语改为了过去分词(非谓语结构的一种)做定语,而分词在书面英语中是一种常用而且比较书面的语法结构,所以建议想考6分以上的烤鸭们多多使用。

Employees from rural areas will confronted with many problems in major cities.(介词短语做定语)

The number of students who cannot attend university is decreasing.

再比如:

Television which has been as one of the most fascinating inventions in the 20th century is now penetrating into every family.

Television, one of the most fascinating inventions in the 20th century, is now penetrating into every family.(同位语)

所以当作文中有多出类似的定语从句时,我们可以省略关系代词be动词或者把实意动词转化为be动词之后再省略,这样作文中就可以出现其他语法结构做定语,例如非谓语结构,介词短语,形容词短语,或同位语,而不单单是定语从句。那这样句型是不是就多样化了呢?

2:如果出现“名词关系代词实意动词”,这个时候我们可以替换为:n doing sth 形式。

比如:

Education, which helps children develop their thinking and accumulate their knowledge , is a deciding factor of ones success.

Education,helping children develop their thinking and accumulate their knowledge , is a deciding factor of ones success.

We told them they were the victims who deserved sympathy the most.

3:如果作文中出现了“,which”修饰其前面整句话的时候怎么改呢?

1. There be 结构

there be 结构和have has结构翻译成汉语都是“有”的意思,但含义不同。have (has)表示“某人拥有某物”,there be而结构表示“某人或某物存在于某地或某时”。

There are some apple trees in the garden.

We have some apple trees in the garden.

there be 结构中的动词 动词与后面的主语在数的方面保持一致。如果句中的主语是并列主语,即有两个或两个以上的人或物作主语,那么一般说来动词的数应与第一个主语的数保持一致。如:

There is a green apple and two oranges in the fruit bowl.

There are two oranges and a green apple in the fruit bowl.

2. I think he is very old.

(1)否定句

一些表示个看法的动词,如等引导宾语从句时,如果从句为否定句,那么否定形式应该表现在主句中,即否定这些动词本身。如:

I don’t think he is very old.

I didn’t think Wang Hai would enter for the high jump.

(2)反意疑问句

这些动词带有宾语从句构成反意疑问句时,根据主句主语的不同可分为两种情况:当主语是第一人称时,则缩略问句应与宾语从句的主、谓保持一致,但如果主句表现为否定为形式时,缩略问句要用肯定形式;当主句的主语是第二或第三人称时,缩略问句应该与主句保持一致。如:

I don’t think he has finished the work, has he?

You think my brother told a lie yesterday, don’t you?

3. That’s right. That’s all right. All right.

“That’s right.”表示“对、正确”。一般在对话中用于肯定对方的回答或表示赞同对方的说法。 “That’s all right.” 是回答感谢话或道歉话的用语,意思是“没关系,不用谢”,相当于“You are welcome”、“That’s OK”或 “Not at all”“All right”一般用于同意别人的请求,是“好的、可以”的意思。如:

A: I think the correct answer is two. B: That’s right.

A: I am sorry I left your notebook at home. B: That’s all right.

4. He’s up there in the tree with Bill.

这句话的主语是“he”,“with Bill”不是主语,而是表示一种伴随状态,所以请注意谓语要和主语在数和人称称保持一致。一般在句子中我们经常用“with+名词”这种结构表示“有、带着或伴随着”的意思。如:

He went to the concert with me.=He and I went to the concert.

She answered me with a smile.

He went to sleep with the bedroom light on.

5. It’s time…

这一句型用来表示“是。。。的时间了,该。。。了”。一般有以下几种形式:

(1) It’s time to +动词原形

(2) It’s time for sb. +动词原形

(3) It’s time for +名词

如:It’s time to go to school.=It’s time for school.

It’s time for us to go to school.

6. What’s wrong with you?

这句话的意思是“你怎么了?”,既可表示问身体有什么不舒服,也可以表示问出了什么事,介词后还可以跟物品名称,表示问某样东西怎么了(是否出了什么毛病)。与其类似的句型还有:“What’s the matter with…? / What’s the trouble with…?”这三个句型在使用时要注意wrong是形容词,所以在它有前面不加冠词,而matter和trouble都是名词,在它们前面要加定冠词。如

7. They looked like saucers.

在本句中like是个介词,解释是“像。。。”,常和动词 be或 look连用。请注意不要错把它当成动词“喜欢”。

8. You had better come early next time.

此句中的had better是一种习惯用法, 意思是 “最好…”成, 一般用来表示向别人提建议或劝告.这一句经常可以与祈使句或带有情态动词should 的句子进行替换.在使用had better 时请注意以下几点: (1) 它没有人称、时态和数量的变化。(2)它的后面只能跟动词原型。(3)它的否定式为had better not,后面同样只能跟动词原型在疑问句中,通常是把had提到主语之前。如

10. I hope… / I wish…

Hope 与wish 都可以解释为“希望”,但它们所表达的意思和用法都有所不同。 在意思上Hope所表达的愿望是比较实际的,是可能实现的,而 wish所表达的是不太可能实现的梦想, 所以wish引导的宾语从句大多用虚拟的语气。在用法上它们的唏不完全相同,区别在于wish可以用于wish sb. to do, 而hope没有这种用法。:,

They hope to win the game in the afternoon.

We all wish him to bring us the good news.

11. My dad will come back in two days.

“in + 一段时间”常用来表示将来的一段时间以后,对它提问用 “how soon” 。如果表示将来的某个时间点以后,一般用“after +某个点时间”,对它提问要用 “when / what time”。如:

How soon will you finish your homework?

I will finish my homework in an hour.

When / What time will you come back?

I will come back after dinner.

12. I’m afraid…

I’m afraid…常用于表达与别人意见不同后拒绝别人的请求,有时也可以用在表示不肯定或推测的话前面,是口语中十分常用的短语。它的后面可以接从句,也可以加或。如

A: Must I hand in the report today?

B: I’m afraid you must

“be afraid of +名词或动名词”的用法也很常用。表示“害怕”。如:

She is afraid of going out at night.

13. Sorry, I forgot to tell you that.

英语中有一些动词,它们的后面可以跟动词不定式,也可跟动名词,而且两种情况所表达的意思不同,如:

(1)与的用法基本相同。它们后面跟不定式时表示不定式所表示的动作还没发生;如果后面跟动名词,那么表示动作已经发生过了。如:

He forgot to return the money to me. 他忘记还钱给我。(表示钱还没有还。)

(2) stop后面跟不定式表示停下来去做别一件事,如果加动名词就表示停止这个动作。如:

Please stop talking and listen tome. 请不要讲话,听我说。

Please stop to have a rest 请停下来休息一下。

英语中的形容词或副词在使用时都不得有比较结构。一般来说它们有三个级别:原级、比较级和最高级。

(1)原级比较

初中阶段常用的原级比较句型为:as…as…, not as (so)…as…。使用时注意它们的含义,as…as… 表示“和。。。一样”,而它的否定结构表示“不如。。。”。如

Is the Huanghe River as long as the Nile?

He does not work so hard as his brother.

(2)最常用的比较级用法是“比较级别+ than ”。另外两个相同的比较级用连接起来可以表示“越。。。越。。。”。如果要表示“两个中较为。。。的一个” ,在比较级之前要加一个the,一般可以修饰比较级的有:much, far, a little, a bit, even, still.

It is even colder than it was last month.

His handwriting is better than any other student in his class.

(3)使用最高级的结构一般为“归高级+比较范围”。这个比较范围内应饱含主语。如果比较范围与主语是同类的话,可以用等介词引出,如果他们不是同类的话,一般用引出。一般来说,形容词的最高级前一定要加定冠词,而副词的最高级前可以加也可以不加。如果要表示“第几。。。”,可以在最高级前面加序数词。如:

Among all the sports I like soccer best.

I am the eldest girl in my family.

15. (not)…until (till)

在这一句型结构中until (till) 引导的是时间状语(从句),因此从句中不能用将来时,只能用一般现在时代替。如果主句的谓语动词或until (till)前面的动词是一个瞬间动词,那么该动词必须用否定形式。一般地来说until和till的意思与用法都基本相同,唯一的区别在于可以置于句首,而不能。如:

He watched TV until (till) his parents came back.

We couldn’t go back home until the rain stopped.

16. be pleased…

这个短语后面既可以另动词不定式,也可以加适当的介词。 加不定式be pleased to do表示“做......很高兴”, 而加介词 be pleased with / at / by......表示“对......感到很高兴,很满意。”如:

We are pleased to plant trees by the river every spring.

My parents are pleased with my hard work.

17. You should go out instead of staying at home.

Instead of 可解释为“代替,而不是”,介词 of后面可以跟名词或动名词。有时没有必要说出被代替的人或物,也可以只用instead

He stayed at home to read the book instead of going out to play basketball.

If you don’t want to go, I can go there instead.

18. I don’t like it any more.

No more, not any more, no longer, not any longer这几个短语都表示“不再......,再也不......”。在使用时请注意它们在句子中的位置。如:

She ins’t a teacher any more = She is no more a teacher.
