I read the Chinese version of “Camille” a few years ago. At that time I was deeply moved by the main character Marguerite Gautier. “Camille” or “The Lady of the Camellias” by Alexandre Dumas, fils, is the story of Marguerite Gautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in Paris in the mid 1800s, and how she falls in love with a young man, Armand Duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. And it also showed that Marguerite really loved Armand Duval for she could even change herself for him.

However, happiness didn’t last for long. When M. Duval, Armands father, came to her, pleading for her to leave Armand to save both Armands reputation and that of his younger innocent sister, Marguerite saw a way to become pure of heart, if not in body. She felt that it was her duty, because she loved Armand so much, to do this even though it meant giving up her own happiness and hurting Armand temporarily. She reluctantly returned to her former life, knowing that some day Armand would forgive her. Sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, except for her one female friend, Julie Duprat, who helped her during her illness. She had her journal sent to Armand after her death, explaining why she had made the choices she had. I think Dumass last few lines about Marguerite being the exception, not the rule were quite true, and I also agreed with his view that while her lifestyle could not be condoned, we as a society assume that all of these type of women are cold and heartless, while this may not always be the case. A person can make the wrong choices in life when they are young, and try to redeem themselves, but sometimes past situations prevent them from changing their lives, even though they desperately wish to do so. This applies to both men and women in many different types of circumstances: involvement in crime; drug or alcohol abuse; gambling; prostitution; financial problems; poor marriage choices; etc. And this is the fact, which exists in the whole society.

As far as the other characters in the book, I think Marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the only exceptions being Armand and Julie Duprat. Of course, the Comte de G. and Comte de N. wanted her body and appearance. The Duke needed to “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. If he truly cared, he could have helped her leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. And lastly, Prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used Marguerite almost worse than the men. I also think she was jealous of the fact that Marguerite had so much more courage than herself and someone truly loved her.

乌镇温暖了我，让我不禁想起千年前的这里，会不会也有一个傻姑娘对着水面发呆。我和同学约好三年后初中毕业，一起要回去，回到梦里去，回到温暖里去……

不知过了多久，我们还在争吵中，我只想洗清自己的冤屈，当你说出那句话时，我的心都快碎了：“撒谎不要紧，不承认才让人觉得可恶，我再问一遍，你要是不承认，你就去跪着!”妈妈你为什么不相信我呢?难道是因为我之前撒过谎吗?可是我已经改了呀，你怎么还是用老眼光看我呢?我仍然坚持说：“真不是我弄的。”当我说完这句话，你就毫不犹豫地命令我：“给我跪下!”然后不容我再争辩就走了。

我绝望地在黑漆漆的客厅不知跪了多久，心里也对妈妈您失望透顶!“快来睡觉，明天去上学!”在我的腿都要麻木得失去知觉时忽然听到您大声地说。

因为这件事，我和妈妈您冷战了几天，因为这几天我都害怕见到你的面孔。一天晚上，你问我还撒不撒谎，我说：“不管我撒不撒谎，你都不会相信我的。”

记得，某一个冬天的早晨，我和她去游乐场玩，那里有一个海盗船，我们看见海盗船很好玩的样子。我们就一人买了一张票，没想到，我脚底一滑，直接滑进了海盗船!那时海盗船东晃西摇!我害怕极了，是她不管三七二十一就拉我上来，可是当时穿的是棉袄，因为滑进去时刮破了。

原本清静的海盗船被我的不平静的心给打乱了呀!我估计她在想：无论如何都要多玩几次!而我在想：我的妈呀!再也不玩了!而她用劲把我在船上往下摁，我在想：的姐姐呀!我好怕!而她好像听懂了我在想：就再玩两次!玩多了自然而然就不怕了!她的使劲摁着，我的拼命挣扎!我终于下来了，这不仅仅是她一个人在玩，而是她逼我在玩!我出来之后，我紧紧地拥抱了她!

军训的第一天!累!军训第二天，很累!军训第三天，特别累也特别欣慰。我们每天的训练内容非常简单，不过是原地转法、跨立、立正之类的动作。但我却从中体会到很多有益的东西。就拿第一天的训练来说，每个动作看似简单，一开始我们却什么都做不好，非要在教官的反复督促下才能做出个型来。由于我们长期坐在教室里缺乏锻炼，半天下来就有人嚷嚷腰酸背痛了。下午，很多动作都做得稀稀拉拉的不够整齐，队伍里还时不时传来说笑的声音，我们就像一盘散沙，各自训练各自的，毫无集体荣誉感可言。我不禁暗想，我们这样哪里像一个集体呢?照这样下去，肯定达不到理想的效果的。由此，我开始对“团结”两个字有了深刻的理解。为了一个整齐划一的目标，大家只有听从指挥，齐心协力，团结一致，才能充分发挥集体优势，否则，所有的努力和汗水都会付诸东流的。

第二天，整体训练情况有所好转，加上老天帮忙，天气一直比较凉爽，大家也渐渐地习惯了军训生活，齐步走、正步、跑步都有了很大进步。这些成绩的取得是大家共同努力的结果。首先是每个人端正了态度，能够认真投入进去，因而收到了良好的效果。由此我想到在日常工作和生活中，每个人在处理个人利益和集体利益时，一定要把集体利益放在首位，充分信任团队并能超越自己，才可能达到成功的彼岸。其次，这些进步和教官的辛勤指导是分不开的。一个人自身的素质固然重要，正确的指挥也是非常必要的，这就是指挥者的魅力所在。只有指挥到位，才可以事半功倍，否则就会事倍功半了。

最难忘的是第三天的检阅了，训练场上早已坐满了同着绿装的“战友”。早起的疲惫之余，每个人脸上都洋溢着对军训的兴奋。有的早已坐不住了，踮起脚看着大门口是否有期待已久的身影踏着正步出现……期待的目光中，大家不由地正了正衣领和军帽，挺了挺腰板，一副等待检阅的神情。伴着“1-2-3-4”的口号声，响彻校园，所有的人不约而同地站了起来，看着一队身着军装，头戴军帽，腰间系着粗厚的皮带，肩上佩着肩章的真正的军人，迈着整齐划一的步伐向我们走来。尽管这军训只有短短的三天时间，我们却可以一改往日的慵懒，投入到紧张有序的训练中去，感受到超越自己的快乐。军训不仅培养了我们坚强的品格，也增强了我不断超越自我的勇气，使我们懂得了责任感的重要，更加强了我们的团队意识。我相信在以后的工作、生活、学习中不管从对待生活的态度上、意志力上，还是思维方式上，我们都将受益匪浅。军训是苦的，可也是快乐的。正如一首军歌所唱的，“战士的生活就是这样，有苦有乐有声有色”。这便是我的军训生活。

Summer can be very hot in southern taibei where the temperature usually goes up to 32"C or more. Because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. Also because of this I stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky. Actually I like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. In the summer vacation that has just ended I went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. This summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. In other words, I must find time to study, too. So I divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

I spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. I used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation I simply could not afford to do so. I would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations. Though those examinations were still a year away, I had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things I had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this. At first I was rather dismayed at the thought of this, but later I thought it was better this way because by working hard this summer I could count on endless happy summers to come. With this in mind I then set to work like anything and only occasionally went out for a change or did some physical. I was not at all bored by this kind of life, for I was sustained by a hope.

那是一个冰风呼啸的夜晚，我裹着又厚又重的棉袄，低着头，在雨中匆匆地赶着路。突然，“喵喵”不远处的树丛间传来的几声微弱而嘶哑的叫声吸引了我的注意。我抬眼望去，只见一只全身花白的小猫懒洋洋的躺在路边，它看起来非常虚脱，眼神混浊而又迷茫，正可怜巴巴地望着我。我犹豫了一下：这么冷的天，它一定又冷又饿，我要将它带回去，将它养成一只白白胖胖，活蹦乱跳的小猫!这样想着我便快步走上前，轻轻地将小猫抱起，呀!它的毛发粗糙而又凌乱，看来是流落在这很多天了。刹那间，一股莫名的同情之感涌上心头。

在这之后的几天里，我一直陪伴着它，将它照料的无微不至。每个早晨，无论天气有多寒冷我总会早早起来，按时给它喂猫粮，时刻关注着它这一夜的睡眠状态;每个夜晚，无论我学习有多忙我总会抽出零碎的时间，带它到楼下散步，玩耍，享受美好而宁静的时光;每个周末，无论我学业有多重，我总会挤出一点空暇时间，带它去逛商场，为它挑选各种各样精美的服装。

时间过的很快，转眼间一周过去了。我妈妈在体检中被查出对猫毛过敏，我们家不能再继续养猫了。可是我又不忍心将它丢弃，怎么办呢?正当我不知所措时，我们家的门铃响了。打开门，见是我那和蔼的邻居王叔!原来他从我妈妈那了解到我们家的痛楚，他很想替我们分担忧愁，而他本身又是一个喜爱动物的人，所以他向我们提出领养这只小猫的建议。“天哪!太感谢你了!”我内心的一块石头终于落了地，热情地将小猫递给了他。“你一定要照顾好它。”“放心吧!”他一边微笑一边小心翼翼地接过小猫。

又是一周过去了，那个周日我去拜访王叔。刚进门，我就愣住了。客厅内不断的传来轻脆爽朗的笑声，我好奇地向里张望，只见王叔的两个4岁大的男孩正拿着几个玩具汽车在逗小猫笑。那只小猫焕然一新，一周不见它似乎也长壮实了不少，已经全然没有曾经的疲惫慵懒，取而代之的是精神气爽的容貌风气。见到我，小猫迈着轻盈的步伐向我奔来，一边冲我摇头摆尾，一边眨动着那双清澈透亮美丽动人的眼睛。我的内心顿时涌入一股暖流，我向王叔投去感激的一瞥。
