My mother has no idea that her ninetieth birthday is coming up. She has no notion of the time of day, the day of the week. the season of the year, the year of the century. No notion of the approaching millennium. And no idea any longer, who I am. Her forgetting of me happened just a few months ago, after I had been traveling for more than a month and hadnt been to see her. Today was the first day of my new life. I looked at my new books and checked everything for the new school year. I was excited as well as worried.

7月11日我们坐车来到广州新机场，终于到了登机时间，我第一个登上飞机，这是我第一次坐飞机，心里特别激动。过了一会，飞机启动了。飞机先慢慢地滑行，到了起飞的跑道后才加速行驶，然后徐徐地升上天空，像孙悟空腾云驾雾一般。我往下一看，下面的东西简直就是一个个模型玩具。再飞了一会儿，就什么也看不见了，只看见许许多多白云，有的像纯洁美丽的棉花，有的像连绵起伏的山峰，有的像可爱精灵的老鼠，还有的像……。那蓝蓝的天空，就像一汪幽静的湖水，美丽极了!

下了飞机，就开始了“艰苦”的旅程了。因为听导游姐姐说，云南旅游是比较辛苦的。

首先我们去游览石林，但游览的人太多了，都是人看人，我觉得没意思。游完了石林，我们去游览大理的苍山。我们坐车来到苍山下，排队坐索道，排了很久才坐上索道。开始还能看到下面的树和路，可一到中间，到处都是雾蒙蒙的，把所有的景物都遮住了，只能隐隐约约看到近处的一些树木。上到山上，远远就看见了一个很大的瀑布，假如丢一块石头过去，也许一下子就不知道被水冲到哪里去了。我们走过一座独木桥，来到瀑布脚下，看见清碧溪，溪水清澈见底，底下的石头都清晰可见。我伸手摸了一下水，真刺骨，那水就像雪一样冰冷。我想，要是在广州也能有这样冰凉清澈的水，那该多好啊!

旅程在继续着，我们又坐车沿着曲折的盘山公路来到虎跳峡。一下车就已经听见哗哗的水声，它仿佛在大声地对我说：“小朋友，欢迎你来到虎跳峡游览。”我们沿着陡峭的楼梯往下走，波涛声越来越大，一条长长的洪水出现在眼前，洪水在一段颠簸的峡谷中翻滚。妈妈说：“这是因为水底有凹凸不平的石头，而且水有太急，所以才会翻滚。前面和后面的水却不翻滚，就是说那里的水底比较平坦。”看着波涛凶涌、雄伟壮观的虎跳峡，我不由得感叹：大自然真的太神奇了!

I still remember the first time I went to the zoo.
