Nowadays, many families have a dog or a cat as a pet. Some people think

that pets are good and helpful companies. Some of them even go so far as saying

that animals are as good as humans, and their rights should be respected .Senior

citizens are especially fond of keeping pet because they are always feeling

lonely at home and they see the cats or dogs as their partner.

But some other people do not like pets. They say that animals are noisy,

Because of their admiration for Chu Yuan， the local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons.

Although they were unable to find Chu Yuan，their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.

有人说，出国留洋，学好知识，回来报效祖国，这才叫爱国;有人说，在战场上为祖国拼命，开出一条血路的叫爱国;有人说在祖国受到压迫时挺身而出，为祖国争口气，叫做爱国;有人说为祖国争得至高无上的荣誉叫爱国;有人说像孙中山、毛泽东、邓小平他们一样，为中国做出巨大的贡献的叫做爱国;有人说像达尔文、牛顿一样发现所有人都没有发现的东西叫做爱国。那么，一个平凡的人就没有一颗爱国的心吗?不!

而有些人呢?却认为为伟大的祖国做贡献是愚蠢的举动，他们认为只有“多捞多得”，才是生命的价值。这种说法实质上是把生命的价值与金钱划等号，贪图享乐。从历史的进程看，这种人生观是卑微和落后的，如果人人都这样的话，那么，我们的祖国将变成什么样子了?如果我们都把追求金钱、追求享乐看作成生命的价值，那无异于用一根根金条束缚住自己的手脚，只剩下一张贪婪的嘴来“吃”祖国的财富，来“吃”社会的财富。与那些用双手对祖国做贡献的，却从来不索要报酬的人相比，他们的生命是毫无价值的。
