“穿越来的？从21世纪？”老虎问我。

我点头。

“这就对了嘛，恭喜你，进入了25世纪，我是25世纪的机器老虎，不会吃好人，是专门给坏人执行死刑的时候用的。我吃他。”它自我介绍，“我将成为你的导游，虽然我很不乐意，因为你偷听我唱歌，偷看我跳舞，这是很不好的行为，但是，你应该为我是你的导游感到荣幸……”

我生气了，说:“我现在就去说你是怎么唱的歌，怎么跳的舞！”

老虎一听，那虎脸吓得，苍白呀！

“机器的脸是不会变色的！”我大吼一声。

“好吧，我是真虎……不过，我只骗了你这一点，姐，别说行吗?求你啦！”

“别乱认亲戚！谁是你姐！”

“这个，那个……走，旅行开始了！”聪明的老虎摆脱了这个尴尬的局面，巧妙的转移了话题。“先去森林看看。”

我显得有些迫不及待。一道白光闪过，我已至身森林。森林里有机器人忙绿的身影。他们正在植树呢。森林里到处是参天大树，空气好极了。

“这是25世纪的森林，真舒服，科技又发达，人类已经想出不破坏绿化，又可以制造纸巾的办法了，就是因为树木增多，城市的空气也好了呢。”老虎左顾右盼，向我介绍，“不过，未来城市的森林也有可能是那种样子的呢。去看看？我怕你会疯呢……”老虎尊求我的意见。

“去！”我斩钉截铁地说。

“还是先看完这个版本，再看差的也行呀，所有东西都是连在一起的。”

“好吧。”

一眨眼，我到了城市。这里的空气足以与刚才的森林媲美。汽车跑在地上，没有尾气，这是25世纪的新发明，只要有人在车上，就能开动，用的是人体的电源。城市里房屋不多了，每一户都有人住，人们都是其乐融融。

“这就是25世纪有可能，记住，是有可能，出现的情况，舒服，这个现象出现的机率有45.57%。”说着，老虎故意顿了顿。“唉，去看另一种版本吧。”它摇了摇头。

“这就是25世纪第二种版本？”我问它。

“嗯。”老虎懊恼地点点头。

森林里到处是伐木工的身影，空气非常呛人，我咳嗽起来。

“快走，我一秒也不想在这个地方呆了！”我忍不住叫起来。

“看到了吧，要爱护环境。”老虎没好气地对我说，“走，去看看那城市。”

我刚一睁开眼，就震惊了，城市里的高楼大厦不计其数，大多没人住。汽车在旁若无人地放着尾气，搞得整座城市乌烟瘴气。

“看你们人类做的好事！”老虎快急哭了。

我恨不得找一条缝钻进去。

“未来环境因遭受严重伤害，世界末日不远了。出现这种情况的机率是50%。”老虎说，“另外5%，环境没这么差，也没那么好。现在还预估不出来，无法参观。你得走了，21世纪的天快亮了。”

听到这话，我着急了。老虎变出一个漩涡，告诉我进去就可以回到家，我告别了它，急匆匆地走了。

“宝贝，起床了！”又是妈妈的声音。

“起啦！”我应了一声。

郑渊洁说得不错，在熟睡中被人叫醒，是另一种结束生命。醒后，我开始沉思，这真是25世纪的环境吗？第一种很好，第三种凑合，千万不要是第二种啊！

Development and the Environment

It is undeniable that the worsening environment has become the biggest concern of the present-day world. Land resources are dwindling because of water loss and soil erosion. Waste gases poison the air we breathe. The rivers and lakes are polluted by waste dumped in them from factories. It is probably no exaggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environment threatens the existence of mankind itself.

Some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the price we have to pay for economic development. But I do not think that this argument is valid. After all, what is the point of economic growth if people＇s lives are adversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution?

There is plenty of evidence to show that sustainable development can be achieved by balancing economic growth with protection of the environment. The key to achieving this is to make people aware of the seriousness of the problem. Both governments and ordinary citizens should join hands to make this world a better place to live in, not only for ourselves, but also for future generations.
