One day, Ji An said to Emperor Wudi that the way the emperor used his ministers was just like piling up firewood, which meant that the latecomers surpassed the old-timers. Of course, Emperor Wudi could see that Ji An was complaining. So,turning to his ministers, Emperor Wudi said, "It is true that no one can stop learning.You see, Ji An is making more and more indiscreet remarks."

This story comes from The Historical Records. Later generations use the set phrase "the latecomers surpass the old-timers " to indicate that successors can cxcel the predecessors, which is quite different from the original idea when Ji An said that the latecomers surpassed the old-timers.

After I read the book that is called “The old man and the sea” I was deeply moved by the old man and his spirit.

The book written by Hemingway tells us a story that an old man whose name is Santiago went out to do some fishing on the sea on his own but down on his luck he hadn’t caught any fish for 84 days. Next day he caught a huge marlin which is bigger than his boat and took a formidable battle with it. He beat it at the end. When he was on the way home the smells of blood of the marlin draw a lot of sharks’ attention and they fought for it. In order to protect the marlin and him the old man tried his best to fight with them. After a cruel fight he won it and came back home tiredly. Although he only got a skeleton of the giant marlin at last he is also a great hero in many people’s heart.

In the article the old man is a great man. Although he failed for many time in his life he never gave up. He is a steel-willing man who insisted his dream and work hard. You can destroy him but you can’t beat him. Whatever he faced to he would never yield to the difficult which shows a strong spirit.

In our lives I think we should learn something from the old man which will make us have a more valuable life. Whenever and wherever we meet trouble we should never give up and try our best to overcome it. We should always keep on our dream and make it come true. 一波未平，一部又起。老师又安排了新的任务……装饰墙面。我的兴奋劲又提起来了，又可以与一组同学大展身手一番了！我早早的选好墙面，就与组员们讨论设计方案。咦，怎么一个个都无精打采的？不管了，先说吧！不管三七二十一，我把老师给我讲的内容一五一十的告诉了组员们，让他们想想办法。可我听到的是：“这些事你自己就能办了呀，何必我们再出谋划策？”我自己就可以？难道我们不是一个组的吗？我耐心的说：“以后大家同在一个组，咱们团结一心，把咱们的组搞好，把学习搞上去，让咱们的组成为班里最优秀的组。这次的墙面大家你一个点子，我一个点子，这样大家不就能齐心弄得更加完美了吗？”我苦口婆心地说着，可组员就是无动于衷，我的心里无名火已经上到嗓子眼了，我强忍着，我想：我也不是十全十美的，同在一个组，就应该好好相处，团结一心，这样才有可能提高大家的协作精神和团结的意志啊！我感觉到组员的懒惰，我不知他们是怎么想的？难道为小组做一点贡献就这么难吗？为什么都要推卸责任呢？为什么都在一组就不能团结一心呢？我的一片热心被当头浇了一盆带冰的冷水！让我从头凉至脚！

回家后的反思

“当一个好学生难，当一个好的组长更难，当一个好组长好学生更是难上加难！”我算深刻明白了这句话的含义，还是那句老话，也反思反思自己吧！希望他们以后能积极向上！

今年暑假，在一个月里我读了两本书，可能是我的阅读能力提升的缘故吧。而在这两本书中，我最喜欢的一本书是由英国作家夏洛蒂写的《简爱》。读过之后，我永远也忘不了这本书。

简爱身材瘦小，相貌平凡，无金钱、无地位，却有着不平凡的气质和非常丰富的情感世界。她在生活的磨练中，抛弃了女性天生的懦弱与娇柔逐渐养成了坚强独立的个性。她不会在表兄残暴面前甘心被辱，而是据理力争。即使结果不尽人意，却始终如一没有低头;在魔鬼般冷酷的布洛克尔赫斯先生的折磨下，她不会表现出任何恐惧，而是从容的扛下来，独立坚强的活下来。虽然她没有美丽的外表，却有着美丽的品质，而这种品质深深的吸引着我，她无论身处社会的底层，还是身处上流社会，她总是不卑不亢，她表现出的那种自强，自尊，自爱让人不得不敬佩她，她身上闪现着一种独立人格的壮美与崇高。我想，这也是她深深吸引我的原因吧。

我特别佩服简，是因为在书中的一件事：简是一个孤儿，从小被他的舅妈收养，受尽了虐待。尤其是舅舅的儿子约翰，这个又胖又壮、蛮横无理的家伙，经常无缘无故的打骂简，而舅妈不但不去制止，反而支持儿子的野蛮行径。简后来是带着满腔怨恨离开舅妈家的，但当她听说舅妈里德太太生命垂危时，简忘却了里德太太的一切不好，毫不犹豫的回到了她曾经厌恶的地方。当她见到一件很重要的事：在三年前，简的叔叔给他写了一封信，想让她给继承他的遗产，因为他无儿无女，所以想让简为养女。但是因为里德太太当时对她厌恶至极，也不想让她走运，过上富日子。所以他给简的叔叔回了一封信，说简生伤寒病死了。就这样，简失去了一个转变自己命运的机会。里德太太的这种行为实在令人气愤，让他把这些事都统统忘掉。简很希望能与她和解，但直到死里德太太也没能改变对简的态度，这使简无奈而又痛苦。

通过这件事，简在我心目中的形象瞬间更高大起来了。她的视金钱如粪土的精神，更是值得当今人们学习。

《简爱》这本书也是我看出了自己的不足，让我找到正确的人生方向，把失去的东西找了回来。

“Animals deserve our kindness, sympathy and understanding,” that is what Anna Sewell－the author of Black Beauty－wanted to convince her readers. Thanks to Sewell, I now think about the animal－human relationship from both the human and the animal’s point of view.

The inspiration for Anna Sewell’s novel was drawn from her own relationship with horses. Anna Sewell was born on March 20th, 1820 in Norfolk, England and was crippled while still very young. Due to her disability, she relied on horse-drawn carriages and grew to love horses as a result. In order to call people’s attention to horses’ hard life, Sewell tells the story through the first-person narrative voice of a horse. This innovative personification of an animal made the book a real success. Readers heard the stories straight from the horse’s mouth, literally, as an animal spoke of extremes of joy and suffering. People were shocked by the truth exposed by the novel and changed their attitudes towards animals.

Sewell formed the novel with three kinds of characters: Black Beauty, Ginger and other farm animals. Through their different experiences, I saw similarly painful lives led by the animals. This method made the earnest appeal for animal rights become more and more persuasive.

As a domestic animal, Black Beauty was continuously sold from one family to another. Over the years Beauty enjoyed good masters but also endured mean ones. Sometimes, he was cared for and at other times tortured. In the end, everything turns out all right in a story that is so tender and yet meaningful. His story was so vivid that caught the readers’ heart. The novel brought people laughter and tears and also enlightened them to understand animals at the same time.

The father and son of E Blaus, a German painter, is an interesting and animated cartoon. The comic book reflects the sincere feelings of father and son. 在学习《英语课程改革》的时候我认识到，这是一次深刻的改革，新课改倡导全人教育，强调课程要促进每个学生身心健康的发展，培养学生良好的品质的终身学习的能力，新课改倡导建设性学习，注重科学探究的学习，关注体验性学习，提倡交流与合作、自主创新学习，课程改革的成败关键在于教师，教师是课程改革的实施者，作为教师的我必须做好充分的准备，学习新课程改革理论，更新教学观念，迎接新课改的挑战。下面简单地回顾一下开学以来所做的一些英语教学工作。

一、面向全体学生，为学生全面发展和终身发展奠定基础。

1、创设各种情景，鼓励学生大胆地使用英语，对他们在学习过程中的失误和错误采取宽容的态度。

2、为学生提供自主学习和直接交流的机会，以及充分表现和自我发展的一个空间。

3、鼓励学生通过体验、实践、合作、探索等方式，发展听、说、读、写的综合能力。

4、创造条件让学生能够探究他们自己的一些问题，并自主解决问题。

二、关注学生情感，创造民主、和谐的教学气氛。

学生只有对自己、对英语及其文化有积极的情态，才能保持英语学习的动力并取得成绩，刻板的情态，不仅会影响英语学习的效果，还会影响其它发展，情态是学好英语的重要因素，因此我努力创造宽松民主、和谐的教学空间，做到：

1、尊重每个学生，积极鼓励他们在学习中的尝试，保护他们的自尊心和积极性。

2、把英语教学与情态有机地结合起来，创造各种合作学习的活动，促进学生互相学习，互相帮助，体验成就感，发展合作精神。

3、关注学习有困难的或性格内向的学习，尽可能地为他们创造语言的机会。

4、建立融洽、民主的师生交流渠道，经常和学生一起反思学习过程和学习效果，互相鼓励和帮助，做到教学相关。

三、加强对学生学习策略的指导，让他们在学习和适用的过程中逐步学会如何学习做到：

1、积极创造条件，让学生参与到阶段性学习目标，以及实现目标的方法。

2、引导学生结合语境，采用推测、查阅和协调的方法进行学习。

3、引导学生在学习过程中，进行自我评价，并根据需要调整自己的学习目标和学习策略。

四、对学生进行有效的评价。

评价可以使学生认识自我，树立自信，有助于反思及调整自己的学习过程，评价或采用测验及非测验形式，平时重视形成性评价，对学生回答学习过程中的表现所改进的诚绩，及反映的情感、态度、策略某方面进行及时的评价，如有口头评价、等级评价、学生之间互相评价等方法，充分发觉学生的进步，鼓励学生自我反思，自我提高，测验以学生综合运用能力为目标，侧重于学生理解和获取信息，能力减少客观题，增加主观题，通过评价学生学会分析自己的成绩和不足，明确努力方向。

新课程改革不是纸上谈兵，后必须要与实践相结合，即将努力学习，积极进取，积极参与课程改革，在课改中不断学习，不断实践，不断反思，愿与新课程共同成长。
