《简·爱》的问世曾经轰动了十九世纪文坛，它以一种不可抗拒的美吸引了上万读者，使人人都喜欢。每个人都有一种抑制不住的冲动想拿起这本书，读后便会被简·爱的品格所感动、敬佩，心灵也随之震颤。

《简·爱》是一部十分有特色的长篇小说，作者夏洛蒂·勃朗特用优美的语句和激昂的情绪让人们改变了对妇女的偏见，也为妇女赢得了一片灿烂的明天。《简·爱》这篇大作是她用钢铁般的意志和心血打造而成的。

女主人公简·爱身材瘦小，相貌平平，无金钱无地位却有着与凡人不同的气质和丰富多彩的感情世界。她的童年生活悲惨而又不幸，父母双亡，被亲人里德太太送进了孤儿院，在那里受尽了精神和肉体上的摧残。可简·爱没有悲观退缩，她开始向命运抗争。正是这些生活上的磨练使她放弃了娇惯与懦弱，养成了坚强独立的个性。面对里德太太的折磨，她没有悲观害怕，而是勇敢的活下来；在洛伍德教师的“魔爪”下，她没有任何恐惧，而是从容的扛下来……她的童年时刻在压迫下生存，没有朋友，养成了独立坚强的人格魅力。

简·爱长大后，没有依靠，只能自己打工养活自己。她为了生活四处奔波找工作。她当过仆人，当过家庭教师，由于身份低微，没有一个人看得起她，可她还是没有放弃工作和生活，她总认为世界是美好的。她不向富贵低头，想让人人都平等，不希望社会存在高低贵贱之分。渐渐的，她养成了自尊自爱，追求平等的精神，正是这种精神，让她结识了罗切斯特，她深深的爱上了坦率真诚、厌恶虚伪和心地善良的罗切斯特，而罗切斯特也喜欢自尊自爱、独立自主、追求平等的她。经过不断磨练，他们终于生活在了一起。

简·爱一生敢于追求爱，不是盲目追求，而是看一个人的人格魅力，所以她才会爱上罗切斯特。虽然经历过许多挫折，但还是在艰难中昂起头来，接受命运，为了理想而奋斗，创造了一个女人的传奇，把“不可能”变成“一定可以”，她的一生纯净的像杯水洒落人间。

人与人之间是平等的，可现在的生活里还存在着不平等的事情。例如上学期，校门口来了两个乞丐，一个破衣烂衫跪在地上，寒风吹过他衣服的破洞，冷得瑟瑟发抖。粗糙的脸上布满皱纹，却依然面带微笑；另一个女人衣着朴素，躺倒在男人身旁的被单上，脸色惨白。走进一看，旁边还有一块牌子，上面写着：妻子得了疾病，家中无钱，求各位行行好吧。面对这么凄惨的一家人，有些人选择视而不见，只留下一个冰冷冷的眼神，有些人明明离他们很远，还特意走到他们面前来炫耀自己的“高贵品质”……看着碗里的几角钱硬币，我十分心酸，真想给他们一点钱，可摸了摸口袋，一分钱也没有，只能看他们跪在那里而无能为力……

在当今社会里，人们都是为了地位、金钱和名誉而奋斗，很少有简·爱这样为了爱情奋战的人。现在的人会毫不犹豫在财富与爱情之间选择财富，没有去想过爱真正的含义。当真正爱上一个人，愿为了所爱的人放弃所有，爱是永久的精神相爱，不是一时半会儿的一见钟情，我们要追求爱和全部付出的感觉。

从世俗的喧嚣中脱离出来，重新拿起《简·爱》，再一次细心品读。简·爱的一生就像是传奇，她让我坚信，只要有高尚品格，即使是野百合，也会有属于自己的春天。

人文知识一课上讲到《简爱》，对《简爱》不了解的我回去看了《简爱》的书，感受颇深，发现在作品主线以外，还涉及到四个人的死，虽然不是最重要的部分，但在文中的作用也不可小视。

这四个人是：简幼年时的朋友海伦·彭斯，她一度憎恨的里德姨妈，关照她的里德舅舅，以及全书最末她的表哥传教士圣·约翰。其中海伦·彭斯和圣·约翰的死都带有强烈的宗教色彩。在我看来，简·爱尽管很明显地对这两个都很崇敬，但海伦与她却是在性格上大相径庭的－－简是乐于反抗的，而海伦显然极为逆来顺受。因而时至今日，我依然并不太理解海伦在简心中到底处在什么位置，抑或是简不安的内心也对那种平静有强烈的向往？

对于圣·约翰，序言中说他“实际上不过是要取得绝对支配别人的权力而已”，坦白说我以为序言对这个人物的种种评价是有失偏颇的。至少从原作中我们可以看出，虽然简对圣·约翰对她的支配感到不快，但这本身似乎并非她要批判的真正对象。我认为作品中还有一个不起眼的人物其实与圣约翰有着密不可分的联系：她在里德府的大表姐伊丽莎。从表面上看，他们都将生命献给信仰（伊丽莎最终成为修道院院长，而圣则去东方传教并客死他乡），而且或多或少地由于信仰而过分让理智主宰自己，具有按部就班的性格。从内心来讲，他们却形成了十分鲜明的对照：伊丽莎似乎给人以“看破红尘，遁入空门”的感觉，并且我们从书中对她由普通富家千金转为修女的思想历程难以做深入了解，只能猜测这多少与家道中落有关（尽管书中无论伊丽莎本人还是作为叙述者的简·爱都完全没有提到这两件事的因果关系），由此我们大致可以得出结论：她的心是较为宁静的，当然同时也很冷酷。她好象是离这本书主要故事很远的一个谜。与之相比，圣·约翰的一切行动无刻不在表明他心中火热的欲念。也许作者在对他描写的过程中，尤其是前半部分，将他写得难以了解；然而最终读者能通过简·爱的眼睛将他看得赤裸裸。他并不是一个常人，不光由于他的行为非常人可做，更是由于他甚至无法引起我们一种较为清晰的感情－－可爱？可憎？可悲？兼而有之？其实他就是我们每个人为欲望而奋斗的那一部分，他就是欲望的奴隶，而决非他一再认为的“主的忠实的仆人”。《简爱》的最后几句中说：“下一次，将会由一个不相识者写信给我，通知我，这个善良忠实的仆人终于被召唤去享受她的主的欢乐了……阿门。主耶稣啊，我愿你来！”从此我们更可以看出，从某种意义上说，他生的目的即是换来死后的欢乐，这便是他一生中最大的欲望。为之从付出了一切－－爱情，婚姻，甚至生命。他的血肉之躯只是他灵魂的工具。我但愿他早点死，因为在我眼中，尽管他有明确的生活目的，但她是不快乐乃至痛苦的。

关于里德舅舅，全书着笔不多，老实说，还只是在写到里德姨妈死时才多提了几句。但我赞同序言中的观点：作者对舅舅的描写是相当成功的。若由简来流溢感激之辞，或其他人来将之大肆颂扬，都不免显得矫情；正是通过最不理解他的人－－里德姨妈的口，方才使之显得真实与生动。

谈到姨妈，我认为，如果这本书只是像其他的苦命孩故事那样渲染其不公，那么《简·爱》就不配成为一流的文学作品。事实上，对于不幸童年的描写，均是在给《简·爱》的非同寻常的个性以合理的解释。在此我又不禁想，简最终彻底原谅她的姨妈，到底出于什么？本心的善良？我想其实在很早时她已开始学会原谅她，而这，似乎理应归功于海伦·彭斯。这一点在本书中并不特别明显，但勃洛克赫斯特先生叫她站在长椅上示众后与海伦的交谈中也有所体现。姨妈至死对简充满敌意，这无疑是她的悲哀。

这是我对《简·爱》一书中一些内容肤浅的解读。爱情、亲情和怜爱之心是人类最丰厚也是最重要的精神财富。缺了它，等于白活一世。学会爱人，感恩很重要。
