那道身影的速度实在太快了，神一般地追上了小偷，在靠近小偷的一刹那，他奋力扑向小偷，一下子从背后把小偷按倒在地。他用力地抓住了小偷的两只手。小偷挣扎着，可是，他的那两只手瞬间已经被两只铁钳铐住了，小偷动弹不了!那两只铁钳似乎对小偷的手说着：“想逃?想得美!”

在一个繁荣的国家，衣粮不缺，百姓安居乐业，每一个都能够过上小康生活。但是眼前有一个问题一直是国王的心患。故事是这样：因为国王老了，身边却没有一个可以继承王位的王子，于是贴出告示：国王要收一名义子，凡是20岁左右的青年都可以报名。

告示贴出后，大街小巷都沸沸扬扬。到了规定的期限，全城的小伙子都去了。

国王命令部下抬出一筐种子，接着大声宣布：每个人都请到这里领一份种子，然后回家去种，看谁能种出世界上最美的花。谁的花最美，我就收谁为义子，把王位传给他。

一年过去了，国王规定的时间到了，他们都捧着自己栽种的花来到王宫，五颜六色，特别好看。可唯有一个年青人，竟然捧着一个全是泥土的空花盆，人们都在嘲笑他，可是国王宣布的结果就是选中的这个年青人。
