在小美的家里，他们为了迎接圣诞节而做了一些准备。因为小美家里有一个布娃娃的圣诞老人，所以小美突发奇想：如果能把圣诞老人吊在楼梯上就好了。小美说干就干，她先找来一根线，长度约五十厘米左右，然后把线的一头系在圣诞老人的头下方，另一头则系在楼梯扶手上。完成后就像圣诞老人在爬烟囱一样了。随后，小美爸爸想到了在阁楼里有一棵圣诞树，以迅雷之快不费九牛二虎之力就把它搬到了二楼。妈妈走过来，看了看圣诞树，说：“虽然有圣诞树，但是这一棵圣诞树一点儿圣诞气氛都没有啊!”“那该怎么办，要不我们把它装饰一下吧!小美，你觉得如何呢?”爸爸说。“那好吧!”小美说。说办就办，大家各自找来各种漂亮的装饰品，给圣诞树进行装扮。有雪花、雪人、糖果……不过一会儿大功告成，一棵死气沉沉的圣诞树忽然变成一棵充满着圣诞气息的圣诞树了。小美摇了摇头，说：“似乎缺少了什么?”妈妈说：“对!是星星!”听了妈妈的话后，小美恍然大悟。马上冲进房间，把一颗金光闪闪的星星拿了出来。最后，小美爸爸把星星挂在了圣诞树的最顶端。一棵充满着圣诞气息的圣诞树就出炉了。
