Fortunately, there are many groups and individuals, often unsung and unrewarded, who are dedicated to ensuring that the outsiders are given a chance to be recognised and respected. However, each one of us can also help by offering a little time, a talent or a possession, and taking a share in the responsibility for the well-being of those who feel excluded.

And also today I want to draw attention to another group of people who deserve our thoughts this Christmas. We have all been conscious of those who have given their lives, or who have been severely wounded, while serving with the Armed Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. The dedication of the National Armed Forces Memorial was also an occasion to remember those who have suffered while serving in these and every other place of unrest since the end of the Second World War.

Today I had a very happy, is really a happy Christmas!

圣诞节到了，妈妈决定让我快快乐乐地度过这一天。

早上一起床，我就收到了妈妈给我准备的圣诞节礼物：一包开心果和一袋巧克力。妈妈告诉我，送我开心果是希望我天天开心!

吃过中午饭，妈妈带我来到了万达广场。一到那里，我就被墙壁上的大屏幕给吸引住了，上面一次次地播放着12月24日，也就是平安夜，芬兰圣诞老人和大家见面会的场景。后来，我们进了万千百货。这时，我才发现这里充满了浓浓的圣诞节气氛：到处都摆放着形态各异的圣诞树，有绿色的、银色的、还有金色的••••••树上挂满了各种各样的圣诞节小饰品，广播里不断地传来圣诞节的歌声。我沉浸在这节日的气氛中，一边跟着广播哼唱着圣诞节歌曲，一边尽情地欣赏着各种各样的圣诞节装饰物。忽然，耳边响起妈妈的声音："哇!时间过得真快!已经快到六点了!"我一下子回过神来，感觉肚子好饿呀!赶紧拉着妈妈向餐厅走去••••••

今天我过得很快乐，真是一个快乐的圣诞节啊!

一大早，我和爸爸、妈妈互相说：“Merry Christmas!”爸爸说，西方国家的人过圣诞节就像我们中国人过春节那样热闹，妈妈立刻打开电脑查阅了“圣诞节”、“圣诞树”和“圣诞老人”的来历及传说。

回到家后，我把礼包打开，把圣诞老人放在地上，只见他边跑边唱“Jingle bell，jingle bell…”我们都被逗乐了。爸爸提醒我说：“礼物要好好珍惜哦!”我说：“好，一定!”今天，真是一个快乐的圣诞节!
